I have been here many times and lately have been disappointed. The subs that they have on the menu are delicious and the bread is perfect. The problem is the wait is often very long and the service can sometimes be bad. The latest visit I got a sub with overcooked meat. The sandwich was poorly wrapped so part of it was open to the air. There was red sauce in the outside of the wrapper but no red sauce was on the sub I ordered. One of the employees said a curse word to another employee while I was still in the store. Do not recommend online order. Placed my online order at 3PM and order was set to be ready at 3:30PM-arrived at 4PM and they still they haven't started on the order. Customers that ordered walk in got their order within 10 mins. Save yourself from online ordering - defeats the purpose of saving time. Then when my order was called - one sandwich was missing and said they need to work on it still. Then I saw my order given to another customer. I guess they thought it's Ok to give my order away since I was waiting for one more sandwich anyway. Workers are nice however, it's just to push off the delay. I usually only come here out of desperation because it sucks every single time for one reason or another. Rude staff? Check. Sandwich made wrong? Check. Always check your food before you leave because when you get home and realize it's wrong you'll either have to go back and have it remade or give them your sandwich for a refund. No refund, store credit or discount for wrong food if you can't bring it back. And the staff always acts like it's your fault they missed the "no mayo" or whatever it is on your receipt. Before I begin this review, I admit...Capriotti's USED to be my favorite sandwich shop. BAR NONE. I've been one of their "CapAddicts" frequent diner club members for some time now. Not anymore. Not since Capriotti's made some crazy stupid changes to their menu offerings. In the past, I could always count on Capriotti's to serve the freshest, high-quality ingredients (especially their in-house roasted turkey and roast beef) rather than those typically highly processed, chemically injected, lower-grade meats found at other sandwich shops. I always knew when I bit into a Capriotti's sandwich it would ALWAYS taste HOME-MADE and SPECIAL. Because it was. Better than all of those qualities was the reasonable PRICE Capriotti's charged for their sandwiches. Sure, they were always slightly higher than Subway or other competitors, but that was because of their higher quality ingredients. But things recently have changed since Capriotti's gave their menu a make-over (adding some new items), and pricing themselves out of the market! The other day, I stepped in a Capriotti's to order my favorite sandwich: a medium pulled turkey AND roast beef combo, with coleslaw and thousand island dressing. Yes, I always knew adding a few ounces of roast beef to the sandwich would increase the price a little. Even so, that specific sandwich would normally cost $9.75+/-. But it was worth it. So, when the clerk quoted the price for the SAME sandwich this time, she asked for $21.50! WTF!? Of course, I shook my head in disbelief and walked out. No sandwich is worth that kind of money...ESPECIALLY in this economy! Turns out, Capriotti's no longer offers their traditional, their home-cooked, delicious roast beef anymore. Instead, for whatever reason, they've gone chichi on their meat offerings and ONLY offer "Wagyu" beef, which only comes from select, coddled, cows. Sure, Wagyu may be tasty...but at $70/pound?! What was wrong with the wonderful beef Capriotti's USED to serve!? Did Capriotti's customers have ANYTHING to say about this exorbitant menu item change? Did some focus group admit to WANTING to pay 200%+ MORE for their sandwiches just to taste 2 slices of some UBER beef? Well, I know I didn't. And frankly, I don't believe most customers are fawning over the idea of Wagyu beef, either. The other roast beef was fantastic just the way it was...because of its home-cooked goodness! In summary, because I can no longer enjoy my favorite sandwich at Capriotti's without a 200%+/- markup (and, let's be honest, it's painfully honest that Capriotti's is just trying to increase their average check size during a lackluster economy), I've made the permanent decision to shop elsewhere for sandwiches in the future. While I USED to be one of Capriotti's "CapAddicts," I now to choose to be a "Cap-a-PHOBE! lol. Too bad, Caps...you guys REALLY blew it. read more

New owners? Lazy staff? I love Capriotti's cheesesteaks, I order them for the fam on nights we don't have time to cook. The last three times I've ordered through Postmates the order has been cancelled because the merchant is "too busy". The last time this happened my husband drove to the shop and not only were they not busy, they were rude, and messed up our order. As a former restaurant owner, and especially in this neighborhood, you should be saying yes to all the business... how long does it take to make a sandwich? Gave this location another chance and I DO NOT REGRET IT. They've redeemed themselves and got the 5. I once again called in my order via Phone and the gentleman got my order correct. I usually never write reviews so you know a place is really horrible (or good) when you see a review from me. Don't get me wrong, I love Capriotti's and I eat Capriotti's every other week, but this specific location is by far, the worst location ever. I have ordered from this location 4 times at different times. Every, single, time, I place an order they mess something up. Even the free sandwich I received since they messed up my previous order was wrong. For example, I ordered a sandwich with marinara sauce and they forgot the marinara. The second sandwich I receive for free as a remake ALSO has no marinara. I made sure to clarify that the sandwich needs marinara but they still forget it. As for the THIRD and final remake, my sandwich got marina, but it was DRENCHED in marinara and not only that, they included marina on the side just to get the message across that they didn't forget it. Another instance is when I ordered a bobby with extra stuffing and when I got my sandwich, there was less stuffing that I usually get in a regular bobby than other stores. This is my go-to spot for sandwich and sub cravings. It always hits the spot. I'm usually an early eater so I get in before the crowd. Ingredients are always super fresh. If you do the survey on the receipt, it gives a few $$ off your next purchase. Can't go wrong with that. Staff is friendly and helpful. Capriotti's used to be the standard by which I compared all other sandwich shops. The sandwiches were loaded with meat and veggies and so worth the money. Unfortunately, I can't say that anymore (and haven't been able to for some time now). The Italian sub I had today was easily 1/3 the size the sandwiches used to be and mostly bread. I actually double checked to make sure there was even meat on the bread. So disappointing.
