Absolutely the rudest staff that I have seen in any food establishment. For that reason, alone, my family will never go back! If you're lucky enough to have the older lady at the register with the long blonde hair, she is absolutely wonderful! Count your blessings! What a lovely woman! The woman with the gray, pulled back hair is an absolute witch, rude to everyone and wouldn't smile if you paid her! The men preparing the sandwiches are no better. They look at you condescendingly and If you dare ask them for anything, they are totally unresponsive and just glare at you like you don't exist. You will never get a "thank you," "nice to see you" or any acknowledgment of a tip. They obviously all hate their jobs and make the customers suffer. I am from NY where they make the best Heroes ( Hoagies). I stopped in Capriotti's and ordered the original Italian hero with oil and vinegar. The service was friendly and the store was clean. The sandwich was expensive but when I took a bite I immediately felt like I was back on Long Island at Campus Hero shop. It was so delicious and brought joy to me. I will be returning. read more

Consistently good quality turkey for their subs, & I always get that. My husband likes the Bobbie and my friend likes the Slaw-B-Joe. This location in the past would often run out of bread and odd things like that and close early, but they seemed organized and well-staffed yesterday. Service was quick. Ummmm YUMMMM. My husband is a real deeeick for not telling me about this place for THREE years coming to Rehoboth beach multiple times a year. We just celebrated our wedding reception at the rusty rudder and the day of I knew I had to eat in order to survive the festivities. I looked up sandwich shops in the area and asked if he's ever tried it. He said "oh, I used to eat there ALLLL THE TIME when I worked at browse about books in the summers" . We got the Cole turkey and the bob- or whatever the Thanksgiving one was with the stuffing, cranberry, turkey dipped in GRAVY I mean what the heck. The coleslaw on his sandwich, I ate half. And he had like two bites of mine. It will be a regular stop instead of just grottos and the starboard raw. Still salty about him "forgetting" this place existed. Went for Dinner Food - 5/5. Bobbie sandwich was an excellent balance between the savory turkey, rich stuffing and the tart cranberry sauce. Personally, I would have liked more stuffing, but the even distribution made for a great bite every time. I hadn't been to Capriotti's in a long time. I ordered the "Capastrami" which is Capriotti's spin on a Rachel. What's the difference of a Reuben Vs. Rachel? A Reuben is corned beef and sauerkraut and the Rachel is pastrami and coleslaw. Capriotti's spin of the Rachel in lieu of Rye bread with use of an Italian hoagie was so good! Capriotti's is always my go-to food when I drive down to the beach. It is hands down my absolute favorite sandwich shop. If you're looking to go here, I recommend getting their Slobby Joe or Cold Turkey sub!! They are absolutely to die for! I typically order online and pick it up, so of course the food gets a little bit jostled around, but it's still good , and it's still equally as delicious. Dislikes. Almost none, but I'll whine about the location. Capriottis used to be downtown Rehoboth and then it moved to then highway in Rehoboth. It's a difficult location to visit. However it's worth the trek (and really - the location isn't bad at all). The best place for hoagies in Delaware. Vegetarians and vegans take note: they have v steak sandwiches and v turkey hoagies (the turkey is veg not vegan). I consistently ask for no mayo on my sandwiches because I don't like it. It ruins any sandwich for me. Today I ordered a sandwich asking for no mayo as usual. I ordered it over the phone. The man asked if I wanted anything instead of mayo and I said a little oil. I picked up my sandwich and brought it home for lunch. It had mayo up and down both sides of the roll. This has happened before. Not every time but it has happened. The sandwich itself looked very good as it had lots of turkey and a good amount of toppings. We've been a big fan of Capriotti's in Annapolis and Chester, but the Lewes location is very disappointing. Other Capriotti's locations have a free kids grilled cheese with purchase of adult meal. We usually have about 4 adult sandwiches to 2 children so it's not like we are being overly stingy. At the Lewes location we ordered the free kids grilled cheese but we were then charged for kids meals (grilled cheese and a juice box). When we asked, the woman said "you didn't ask" and then "we actually don't really offer that anymore." I proceeded to point to the sign that indicated that they, in fact still promoting the offer. She waved me away and said, "I don't have time to talk to you." It was rude and off-putting. It was a rainy day and the store was freezing cold. My Hot Bobbie arrived much smaller than the other locations had. It looked like a baguette rather than a sub. Also to note, this location does not have fountain drinks or single sized bags of chips (just the huge grocery store sized ones.) We don't plan to return to this store. read more

It almost feels like it's on purpose. This is almost every time we are down in Rehoboth and try to get Bobbies from Capriottis. They don't answer the phone when you call. When you finally get them to answer, they say you can put your order in anytime. When you try calling an hour before you want to pick up your order, they don't answer the phone or they answer (with an attitude) and put you on hold until the phone disconnects. When you finally give up trying to place an order and drive there an hour and a half before they close on a Wednesday night, they have run out of rolls and can't make sandwiches. Without exaggeration I've been successful about four of 10 times trying to get sandwiches from this place. One star because if you figure out how to get the Bobbie, it's pretty good. To the owner, appreciate your customers. When times get tough, and they always do, remember that customer loyalty is not based on how good your food is. it's based on how you've treated them. read more

Gave 2 stars last time...said I wouldn't come back. Decided that because I actually like capriotti's food, that i'd give them a 2nd chance. I wish I could give negative stars. This place is terrible. They don't close until 7....if half of your menu is HOT FOOD, why do you turn your grill off and stop serving hot food before you even close!?!?!? I came in 20 mins before close. WAY long enough to make a cheesesteak! Man, this place is terrible. Never wasting a dime here again. Didn't even get any food because they said it "takes their grill a long time to turn off", so at 6:40, they couldn't make me and my wife's food. Sounds like a bunch of lazy people who shouldn't even have jobs. Tall, skinny old lady, shorter tattooed woman almost seems like she comes straight from the trailer park...then the super young girl with AirPods in her ears as she talks to you...they all seem absolutely miserable. They completely suck the energy right out of you, even having to deal with them. The young guy there at least seems decent. But man...I'm sure as hell happy I don't have people like that representing my business. Hell no! Those folks don't deserve jobs. Not service industry jobs. read more

My folks RAVE about the Bobbie sandwich here. My mum got her's minus the bread and she received a platter full of turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. My Pop got the sandwich version and it was half the size of what my mum received. I had the steak and cheese and was disappointed. The steak was dried out and lacked flavor. The sandwich was wrapped hot so I had to peel off the wax type paper from the cheese before i could eat it. 3 stars because my parents love the bobbie read more
