They've been around since 1956, and the family business now spans five decades, four generations, and five family-owned Delaware locations. They sell Italian-style sandwiches, and also have a big deli counter to buy meats and cheese by the pound, and also have a freezer with frozen entrees like ziti, raviolis, etc. Oh, and they also have grocery items like sauces. This "Old School" place has it all. The sandwiches we had for lunch were about the largest we've ever had and clearly rival the very best we've enjoyed at home. We ordered two of their six-inch grinders. Mine was $11.75 for an appropriately named "Old School". It had sweet soppressata, sharp provolone, hot capicola and prosciutto with lettuce, tomato, onion, hot peppers and vinegar. My wife had a $9.35 Boiled Ham with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. A few observations (OK, three). 1) the freshly baked sub rolls were delicious -super soft and perfect. 2) The size of the rolls and their related amount of ingredients sure as hell weren't six inches. They were closer to 50% more than that. 3) the amount of goodies Casapulla's stuffs in their rolls is incredible. Mine was stuffed so high with meat and cheese; it was pretty difficult to close up the roll. Finishing these massive "small" sandwiches was out of the question. Half was plenty. The remains are going with us on the ferry to New Jersey today for a second lunch. Seriously, how often do you get two go's at a small sandwich? Per my first review, I first visited here in July 2025. I recently returned here on my second visit on my drive up to the Lewes-Cape May ferry. I again enjoyed my small 6 inch Italian sub with everything including hot peppers with oil for $10.95. They add oil, but they do not add vinegar, therefore I took some packets of malt vinegar from the restaurant counter so I could add to my Italian sib later on the ferry. My total bill was $21.90 excluding gratuity, since I left a cash gratuity. I ate my sub on the ferry. We agreed we will return here again the next time we drive up to the ferry. read more

It's difficult in my opinion to get decent hoagies in Delaware but this place satisfies me pretty well. I ordered the chicken salad and it was good! Perfect spot to grab a hoagie and chips and head to the beach. Extra points for the Herr's chips. The cashier was extremely friendly. read more

We ordered takeout and all the food was fantastic. The cheesesteak featured high-quality ribeye and provolone , and we added fried onions and mushrooms. Tastes like a Liscio's roll from Philly--the best! Same great roll for an Italian sub, beautifully prepared with the freshest ingredients. Order a few subs from here the other day and I have to say...maybe just not for me. The Italy Sub, the best seller, the cold cuts were cut to thick for my liking. Overall I didn't think they had much flavor and the sweet peppers were just pieces. I really didn't get the feel that it was Genoa Salami, capicola, peppered ham and very little provolone....more I think about it the more I'm disappointed . Started this revolution with 3 stars, now down to two. I also had the Boars Head London Broil Sub with sweet peppers & oil. The London Broil wasn't rare like advertised, medium at best but the meat was really dry like it was laying around for a bit. I did find another place that I really like and ordering from here to compare the two. I'll be going bad to the other place. We also had other subs as well, the turk0stuffer, another Italian, and a meatball. So we did our homework across the board. read more

Absolutely incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, the customer service was top-notch -- friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Everyone from the person at the register to the folks working hard in the kitchen went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. You can tell they really care about what they do. If you love Italian subs, then go to Casapullas! Very fresh bread and meat! You can even ask for it to be prepared for travel if you order it the night before or for the beach or to take on the road and won't be eating it for a while. It keels the sub from getting mushy and soggy. This is a great basic deli. You can eat in or to it to go. They'll even bring your order to your car. They also have great frozen meals you can take home. Meatball and cheese steak subs are also top notch! read more

Ah, so much potential with poor attention to quality. 6pm on a Friday, steak & cheese subs with fries. Steak and cheese was pretty good, but the bun was dry and seemed over steamed or stale. Fries are the big steak fries which should have been delicious, but they were burned and tasted like they were cooked in 2 week old grease. I'd give them another shot, maybe earlier in the day, but I can not say it was worth the cost given how bad the fries were. Dirty tables, staff was ok but seemed worn out. read more

I've been working down here recently and stopped here for an Italian hoagie last week, although they call it a sub. I was pleasantly surprised, it was quite good, especially for southern Delaware. So, I decided to stop again today and try their cheesesteak. I ordered a small with American and fried onions. Once again, I was pleasantly surprised. Great flavor, plenty of cheese and piping hot. I ate it in the parking lot. I should have got the large, I wanted more. This place is legit. If you are in the area, give them a try. read more

Nice people. Highly organized and great ingredients. We ordered the London broil with mozzarella, italian, ham, turkey and veggie subs. The person taking the order was friendly and efficient and even called back when we were late picking them up due to crazy traffic. All were excellent except the veggie. I would pass on that one. Maybe order a salad instead. They packaged condiments, pickles etc for us separately which was great. I wouldn't go anywhere else for subs in this area! read more

Ordered 3 steak and cheese subs .. I added hot peppers and when I opened my sub it was completely soaked through..what they call hot peppers is more like spicy salsa. They poured all the juice-water from the pepper mixture into my sub. And the chicken sub was more like chicken cutlets. It was chunks of dried chicken. Barely any cheese on any of the subs. Everything that is whats wrong with calling yourself an Italian restaurant. My antipasto salad, was a friend salad, and to add insult. It came with the same dressing packet you get from Wawa for $0.30. No pepperchini's, olives, almost no cheese and very little meat. The cheese stakes was horrid. Forget the bun. Overall food gets a 3.75. Drinks, environment and service a 4. The Blue Hen is not Spent. But also is not the Top Chicken.
