Walking to Frank and Louie's and we're disappointed that it was a 2 hour wait for a sub. We decided to try Arenas and we are so glad we did. The sandwiches were really good, I'm glad we came in. We had the Ruben, kids turkey, turkey club and the Duncan. We would recommend them all. The environment is fine, it's a bar atmosphere. The table could have been cleaned better and the server could have been more personable and attentive but all in all it was pretty good. We'd come back! read more

Awesome experience with their signature Arena burger, the loaded tots and their iced tea (Arnold Palmer). Our server Amanda was attentive and engaging! Don't forget to ask about their mimosas! Spouse had the shrimp taco and said it was delicious, I had the Rubin's Rubin and had to take half the Rubin home( and the huge pickled cucumber ) it was as good as any Jewish deli I've ever been to, so many fries ( the fries were crispy, hot and fluffy on the inside, so perfect ) and a couple of huge unsweetened ice teas. It used to be the place we came to.eat at least once on every visit we had here because the food and service was amazing.i just returned, I was very excited to have my Ruben's Ruben sandwich which used to be thick and juicy. The cornbread was dry, preferred and very salty. The sandwich hardly had any coleslaw or croutons in it. The server was very slow and not too communicative but sweet. She didn't pick up the menue and the empty beer cans unless I asked politely. I used to get the beach vibe, very friendly easy going attitude. I don't understand what happened. Ended up going here two separate times yesterday we enjoyed it so much. Initially we just stopped in for happy hour in their outdoor seating with our dogs. Service was both excellent and very friendly. Had so much fun and the menu looked so good, that we took the dogs home and then came back to dine inside for dinner. For dinner we sat at the bar and enjoyed their nachos and a couple sandwiches. The nachos were good, not the best I gave ever had, but they were generous, had lots of flavor, and were only ~$10 during happy hour. My wife got the turkey Ruben and I got the buffalo chicken cheese steak. Both sandwiches were VERY good. Wish we had thought to come on a Wed and they would have been half price. Even at full price though, the portions were solid and the prices reasonable. All in all, one of the better value meal we have had on our trip. Finally, one of the biggest appeals of this place were how low key it was. Not too loud, not too crowded. Ended up having a couple nice conversations with other people sitting at the bar. We waltzed in here for a quick snack in that weird time between lunch and dinner. We ended up getting a lot more than we bargained for! We ordered waaaay too much food which ended up being a substantial dinner for most of us. I especially enjoyed the loaded tots served with lot of cheese, jalapenos, and chopped bacon. The server was friendly and efficient. The waters were ice cold and huge too. The patio is in a quaint alleyway in town right across from a cool record shop which I recommend checking out too. Another good meal at Arenas! We walked up on Friday during a very short break between rainstorms, and found almost no one on Arena's deck - that never happens. We took outdoor covered seats and ordered our meals. I went w the grouper Rueben and my bf went w the fish and chips. Service was fast and the meals were good. Great sandwiches, excellent beers, nice draft list, fun waitstaff, live music at night. Check their specials! Sometimes the sandwiches are glorious, sometimes just good. If you are looking for veggies, they do have sandwiches for you. I really enjoy the hummus platter. It's loaded with veggies (celery, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, salad greens, and olives) as well as pretty tasty hummus and pita. Worth sharing. My favorite sandwich is probably the California Club Dude. They are on Untapped for the beer lover. read more

We went three separate times. 1st time for lunch (carry-out) - the reuben and the chicken and dumpling soup were really good 2nd time for dinner - husband said he liked his market salad. I had the crab cake platter, which wasn't much of a platter, the crab cake was mid, and I left unsatisfied 3rd time for lunch another day (carry-out) - turkey sandwich was good for what it was, since it's kind of hard to mess up a turkey sandwich. My husband said that the amount of creole seasoning on his cheesesteak made it inedible, so we ended up splitting my sandwich. Besides the creole seasoning issue, the main problem was lack of value. $10 for soup! Locals said to order it, so we did, without knowing the price. $17 for a turkey and avocado sandwich! And it only comes with a bag of chips. So overpriced! The online menu apparently has outdated prices - which is what I was told when I asked about the price being higher than what I saw online. Would I go again? Yes - most of the food was pretty good, despite being overpriced, I know what not to order, there was a lot of variety, and it was convenient to where we usually stay. read more

My partner and I went for happy hour on a Saturday. We were some of the only people there and service was slow since they were switching shifts. They have a sign about happy hour but no specific menu. We asked and the bartender told us a couple of average beer specials (and did not mention that appetizers were half off). We come to Arena's every year for late night snacks! The food never disappoints! This year we visited twice to order some food and apps! The loaded nachos is always a must... garden veggies, fresh guacamole, salsa, and lots of toppings! It it a huge portion that can easily be shared with others! We also got the loaded tator tots which is also highly recommended. The specialty slushy drinks were a hit this year, very yummy! ! Service was so so, waitress had a bad attitude and made some snide comment about a neighboring tables tip. That brought our tip down some as she also rarely checked on our table of 8. This was my first time here. Many of the downtown restaurants were closed due to COVID and/or pre-season. The restaurant is located down a side street off the main street. We did not have a reservation. Outside was not immediately available, therefore, we opted for inside lunch. All service members wore masks inside and outside. I started with my Guinness on draft for $5, which I enjoyed twice. House chardonnay was also $5. I wanted a half ruben sandwich with crab soup, but, it was not on their menu. Therefore I ordered the bowl of crab soup and half big daddy sandwich for $11.99. The big daddy was prepared similar to a ruben. A full ruben sandwich is also $11.99 less the soup. The sandwiches here are a nice size. Lunch prices here are very reasonable. My total bill was $44 less taxes and gratuities. Mask wearing Scott Y. accommodated our table needs nicely. After a long day on the beach, Arena's deli had everything we wanted. Our Reuben and burger were stacked to the brim. Our fries were hot and crispy and our pickles delectably tart. The cherry on top was the live music. I have never been on the edge of my seat waiting to hear the next song. Struggling at a 3 for this place. We sat down outside and ordered our drinks. Our waitress was quick then long time before we saw her. She was very friendly but think she had more tables inside to attend to. It took 23 mins to get out deli sandwiches and tots. Quite a bit of time. The tots were very good but the rest below meh. So I would say just pick a better place cause our sandwiches were nothing special. My roll was too thick and when I went to take a bite, the whole thing just collapsed. No Italian seasoning but lots of balsamic vinegar. I did get the jalapeños but they weren't even spicy. The honey mustard was surprisingly good with my tots but really that's about the best I can say. Bloody Mary was good but watery. The corned beef was good but still plain jane. What a great location to come up short on the stack. I definitely won't go back but for those that are looking for a good deli, pass on this one. read more
