They told me their hours for the week (currently Friday - Monday until about 4 or 5 whenever they sell out). Yesterday I was riding by and was surprised to see they were open on Easter. I didn't have any money but planned to come back w my car. WOW this place is great! First off, the 2 owners/cooks are the nicest, most laid back dudes. We ordered a brisket sandwich platter and a pulled pork sandwich platter. The platter came w 2 sides. The choices yesterday were greens, coleslaw, potato salad, and corn bread. We chose corn bread and greens and also greens and coleslaw. Yesterday they also were giving away a drink w the platter altho I'm not sure that you always get that. Everything was delish!! But the greens were the best greens I have ever eaten in my life. They were unbelievable - and before we left we ordered a pint of more greens to take home. The meals are extremely well priced and I'm regretting not stopping years ago!!

We had been there once before in the Winter, and thought that the food was very good. I remember having a Monte Cristo, which was tasty. We arrived and placed our order: Southwest Turkey and a Chicken Caesar. Neither sandwich had any substitutions or changes. They were ordered as is. The receipt (see photo) shows that the order was placed at 11:47am. There were others ahead of us, so we sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. After about 15 or so minutes, we noticed that patrons who came in and ordered after us, we getting their orders. Finally, at apx. 12:25pm my wife went up and asked where the food was and wanted a refund. The cashier apologized. Suddenly, the food came out and we were told we could have a bag of chips on the house. We grabbed a bag and left. When we arrived home, we found out that not only did the order take over 30 minutes but that it was wrong! We got two Chicken Caesar sandwiches (see photos). One looks great, the other not so great. So, our second visit will be our last.

I also got a small coffee. The food was good. We would have preferred the English muffin be toasted a bit more, but the eggs (both my partner's and my omelette) were good, plenty of cheese in the omelette, and the home fries were well prepared. The coffee was decent. Overall, a solid breakfast at a reasonable price point, especially considering we're right on the beach. The service was friendly and efficient. Gus and Gus has been active at this location since 1956. That's a lot of history, a lot of burgers, fries, etc. There's something neat walking in here and sitting at the old-style booths and thinking about the years and years that the place has been open. Oh, well, I'm getting nostalgic. The restaurant is cash only, both for take-out and eat in.
