We were very pleased with our new roof. It started with Bill who provided the estimate. His knowledge and insights on what product to use for our mold issue on some of the shingles was spot on. They also replced two skylights and repaired some dryrot. I can't say enough about the crew! They did an oustanding job and keep us informed about repairs and when they would be done that day. They also came out after the Solar Company placed my panels back on the new roof. Bill discovered some areas that needed to be repaired. It was our first storm of the season and Bill made sure they fixed it before the rain started. They were on time, efficient, friendly and done in one day. The clean-up was easy because they laid down tarps all around the house to catch debris. The only thing I have a complaint about was that when they changed out the flashing on our skylights, they didn't tell us there would be debris falling into the house nor did they bring in covers to put under the skylights. I was walking under one of the skylights and the worker dropped a corner flashing onto my head. It barely cut it but has been swollen and sore since they were here 1-1/2 weeks ago. Had the flashing not hit my head it would have hit our tile and broken it. I would still recommend them but with warnings if you have skylights. read more

Capstone put a new roof and new gutters on my house in October 2022. The price was comparable to other roofing/gutter companies and the communication and planning we incomparable. The roof on my large two story house and two small outbuildings was completed in approximately 7 hours by a crew of close to twenty roofers. All debris from the old roof and some dry rot repair was completely removed. The gutter work was done about 2 weeks later by a subcontractor. They were equally timely, organized, and complete. This is an update to a previous review that I had rated a five. I am having a problem with some of the plywood that was replaced where it hangs over the house. The plywood has not been primed or pre-treated and I am having a difficult time getting someone to prime and paint it, seeing it is a two story house. And I am too old to try such a feat myself. I was told they usually try and get primed or pre-treated wood, but somehow there wasn`t any available. One would think they would then do that themselves, since it is exposed to the elements. Other than that I am pleased with the rest of the work and it was wonderful to have it done in one day. The roof looks good. From the list of addresses, they give so you can check out the colors to the quality and speed of the work everything was great. When comparing make sure you do apples to apples as other bids with 30-year shingles and these guys do 50. They left our back patio and yard cleaner than it was when they arrived. To me, the measure of a company isn't just how well they do a job; it's what's they do when things go wrong. By that measure, Capstone is outstanding. Their price was the best of all five estimates we got, and what swayed us more than price was that they would also handle installation of new gutters & downspouts, replace our skylight, and install three new "sun tunnel" skylights. All the other contractors would do some of this but we'd have to coordinate some pieces with outside contractors. One-stop shopping. Plus Capstone has the crews to replace our entire roof (single-story single family home) in one day. The crew was here early and by 4:15 that afternoon they were finished. They did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. The gutters/downspouts were installed a couple days later and are equally well done. One small issue was that the wrong color shingle was delivered and the crew supervisor failed to check it. They had already begun installing it when Nathan came by to inspect the job and found the error. He offered to have the crew stop and remove the wrong color; he assured us the right color would be delivered and installed that day. If we were willing to live with the color change, he'd compensate us. We chose that option. A larger problem was with installation of the sun tunnels. The contractor gave instructions to a couple workers who apparently didn't have much experience, and then left and never came back. As a result, the skylights were not installed properly and one of the rafters in our attic was damaged by an installer trying to put the tunnel where it shouldn't go. Rhonda and I had frequent communication from the office. Nathan came out to see the problem and assured us he would do whatever it took to make us happy; he gave us the option of getting our own contractor to fix the skylights at his expense or sending someone else to do it. We let him find another skylight person and everything was fixed to our satisfaction. We hope never to need another roof on this house but if we do, we will definitely call Capstone again. And we absolutely recommend the company. They stand behind what they do and their price is very fair. read more

2 for doing a job fast. Everything else was a disaster..Employees relieving them selfs behind the tool shed in our backyard as early as 7.30am...Couldn't ask to use a bathroom, really?? Huge grease stains all over garage door from a dump truck. Pieces of our old roof top ended up all over our neighbors backyards too, not OK.None of the guys spoke English so good luck with getting any answers you have. Nobody came back to check finished job,I have no idea what was done to my roof,hopefully it's not gonna leak when rainy season start.So yeah ,ZERO professionalism. read more

Nathan was great. He was my first bid and it turned out to be the best one. He was very professional,had great references, list of addresses so we could see how the different styles looked on the other jobs he had done. He always responded to my calls. He said they could do the whole job including removing the old tile,putting down sheeting and new felt etc. in two days. He had a large crew, his own dump trucks etc...they did the job with time to spare, his crew was great. They did a complete clean up including using magnet to pick up nails etc. Any of the other contractors I got estimates from would have been good but he was 20% less and everything was include except for some minor repair. In September, I called four roofers that I found positive referrals for. Three were so busy they didn't want to provide an estimate with one saying it would be January. Capstone did come by within a week or so to provide an estimate. The cost was in the ballpark of a couple of roofs in Contra Costa county I helped a friend contract for, AND Capstone's advertising of putting a very large crew and all equipment to finish fast was attractive. so I accepted with a date of Dec 3 - today. They carefully monitored the weather and with a forecast of probably no rain they came on the scheduled date. The large crew of 8-10 were here before the promised time of 7 am and done and out by 4 pm. My house's two roof areas are fairly large, but simpe with all 2-3 stories above grade on a slope. Cleanup was perfect. Workers were polite and careful. The company gave a full hour for their lunch. I highly recommend this company. read more

We just had our new roof installed. Capstone completed it in less than 8 hours. I have a complicated multi level roof and the crew of over 16 men did an exceptional job. A few of the crew have been with the company over 12 years. That in itself shows am management team with integrity and credibility. We had 2 severe leaks with insurance claims on interior repairs and no solution to external issues-- other than our waterproof barrier was failing. Not good when the outer layer is cement tiles. I chose a composite reflector series to keep the heat gain down and my energy bill was literally $100 lower the first month! Coincidence? I don't think so! These guys and this company rock! This will be a unique review since I didn't hire this company to put a roof on my house. I live in a neighborhood at the end of center road in novato where I just watched this company complete it's third house. Each house was done in one day. They showed up with 8-10 people l, tore off the roof, and installed the new roof with perfect precision. It was so efficient. As the front was torn off other workers began the new roof. By 3pm they were gone. My observations, professional, efficient, respectful of neighbors, clean work site, beautiful work. The workers were friendly, waved hello to me from across the street, and really worked hard for those 8 hours. From what I just observed, now three times, I would hire this company in a second. I think this is a perfect example of you never know who or if people are watching. These workers showed incredible work ethic, and represented this company well. Thquality of the job is excellent. Update: Today I am reviewing as a customer. I had capstone put a roof and gutters on my mother in law's home in Ignacio. Excellent excellent excellent. I don't know what else to say. The job took one day so there was minor disruption for grandma. She is 89 so that was nice. The gutters went on one week later and took 4 hours. From the estimate to the invoice this is a class A company and I would recommend them without hesitation. Even the county permit process was handled by them well. We are very pleased, this is a great company. They care about the customer and they care about the quality of their work. They started arriving early before their 7AM start time and you could tell by the conversation and enthusiasm this crew of 15 men were ready to go. The old roof was removed in an hour and 15minutes. The new one was on by 1:00 PM and clean up (including using magnets to attract stray staples and nails) and departure was by 2PM. The politeness, energy and efficiency were truly outstanding! They were still smiling and being gracious as the neighbors were complimenting them esprit de corps! They did a great job on our roof. Arrived at 7:00AM and were done by 5:00. They did some minor dry rot repair. I live in Forestville on a narrow street with no off street parking. They had about 65 feet to work with and managed to make it work. They also installed four roof vents that were badly needed. They also did a good cleanup job. I got three estimates and they were the lowest. They are a diamond rated company so I decided to hire them. I highly recommend this company for roofing and repairs. read more

Believing we might not be able to get our roof done before the big rains and having had leaks the last two winters, we put out calls to several roofing companies, two of them recommended by contractors. The two recommended by contractors never even returned our calls.....but friends in Santa Rosa had casually mentioned how happy they were with the roofers who took care of their home this past summer, so we gave Capstone a call. From the first, prompt return of my online request for a quote and a phone message I left, Norm was at our house within 48 hours at the end of his long work day. He inspected our roof and explained the type of roofing they offered for our flat roof....he answered every question and had a quote to us the next day. The office staff, where we went to make a downpayment and Norman and crew were terrific. Friendly, thorough, prompt, helpful (Norman recognized our attic fan was rusty and not working and he bought and replaced it in the same day they did the roof). A 2nd day of just inspecting and detailing all the seams of the roof and we were dry and secure before the season's first rain. We recommend Capstone with no reservations. Professional at every level. And, though I don't hope to see them for our house again anytime soon, we will need a barn roof in the near future and Capstone will be our choice. "We own this roof for the next 10 years, so call us with ANY issues" - this is what Bill (one of the owners) told me when he came to address a few things that the neighbor across the street noticed, which then of course I couldn't "unsee". Nothing affecting the integrity of the roof - discoloration around chimney and some shingles was just dust that would've washed away, a buckling under the shingles at the front from the previous gutter guard installation was resolved with some hammering and tweaking. Not only did they give a free estimate of roof replacement but they repaired leaks and promised to come back if needed before actual roof replacement if needed while I waited my turn for a new roof. Crew was on time, neat, cleaned debris as they went. Courteous, pleasant, answered any and all questions and gave explanations where needed. My roof is medium size at 1400 sq. ft., even with small replacement of dry rot they were able to complete the entire roof in one day. Covered everything in my yards, made sure all clean up was done, even the inside of the garage. Blew out entire yards, haled off all debris. You couldn't tell that the company was even there by the end of the work day other than the new roof. I'm pleased with the job, happy with the company and all contacts made with them. Amazing! I was a little bit apprehensive before they started because their price was less than all the other bids, but I was very hopeful. I am not easily impressed being a contractor myself, but the job they did at my residence was simply astounding. Bill the sales rep was very. Professional telling me what should be done and most of all what we didn't need to waste our money on! The day of the install they showed up on time, and completed the removal and new roof all in one day! Oscar the foreman was extremely nice, but most of all VERY organized. He showed me all the areas that needed repair ( dry rot ) before he started fixing them .
