    Crab shrimp and sausage
    Kris C.

Cap't Loui was a great choice for our seafood craving. Great seafood, big portions, and a team that owns the details. We ordered snow crab legs, Dungeness crab, shrimp, sausage, and corn, all steamed perfectly. We asked for the sauce on the side, which made deshelling everything much easier. We went with mild, and it was perfect for us. All the Cajun flavor without the noise of too much heat. That sauce was so good I used the leftovers at home with more shrimp and it was just as good the second time around. We also had the fried seafood platter with shrimp, calamari, fish, and fries, plus the garlic noodles. Our daughter had the chicken tender kids meal, which was way more food than she could possibly finish. Portions here are definitely generous. Our crab initially came out with the sauce on it by mistake, but the staff caught it, acknowledged the error, and remade it correctly without us having to make an issue of it. A couple of other small things were quickly remedied as well. Mistakes happen, but accountability matters, and I really appreciated how they handled everything. For three people, we had plenty to take home, which is a good problem to have. The restaurant has lots of seating but can get busy, so joining the Yelp waitlist ahead of time is a good move. Overall, great flavors, abundant portions, and attentive service. Cap't Loui is a solid choice when the seafood craving hits.

Funnel Cake Fries + Ice Cream ($11)

Pretty good but different than what I'm used to when it comes to seafood boil. My boyfriend and I got the 4lb Combo with king crab, head off shrimp, clams, and mussels which came with 3 sides (we got garlic noodles, rice, and sausage). The boil seemed to have already came with potatoes and a corn as well. We got medium spice and then hot on the side to dip. It was actually quite spicy for the average person! It's a spice that lingers. The capt louie sauce is thinner than most spots and had a slight sweetness & asian flair which is unique from most spots. All the seafood was cooked perfectly and tasted super fresh. We also got oysters and these were the creamiest oysters I've ever had in the bay! Sooooo freaking good. The soft shell crab was also tasty but more on the plain side; tasted like salt and pepper. Would honestly skip on the clam chowder, and the garlic noodles only tasted good when put into the seafood boil. As for sweets, the Mr.Rich Drink was way too artificial, but the funnel fries were a pleasant surprise! Very good! Service was very very attentive despite the business. The place had a line by the time we left (7PM). Very casual vibes with one large menu showcasing the prices per pound of each seafood. It's an overall good seafood boil spot with some hits and misses. Overall: 4.1/5

This remains on our list as our go-to spot for a seafood boil! There can sometimes be a wait, but they do a great job managing the crowd and keeping things moving. The restaurant also has music playing in the background, so the noise level can get a little elevated as everyone talks over the music. The food is worth the wait. Everything is flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The shrimp, clams, potatoes, corn, and garlic noodles all mixed together are our favorites. Generous portions, delicious seasoning, and perfect for sharing with the family. Definitely one of those places we keep coming back to!

I normally don't go for Canjun food because I'm not a fan of spicy food, but today we have Cap't Loui and it blew my mind. I've been walking pass their shop many times in Cupertino, a small shop on a clean street next to an underground parking lot. First off, our lunch hour was at 11:45, but by 10:45'sh, food was ready and the catering staff was already working on setting it up. I had fresh salad of tomato and cucumber, seafood boiler with shrimp, and garlic noodle. We ran out of Clam Chowder real quick, so I didn't get to it. The salad was fresh, both tomato and cucumber slices gave this crispy and refreshing taste. Our menu has Seafood Boiler with Shrimp and Veggie Boiler Mix with Fried Tofu, they look like the same sauce, so I chose Shrimp and it was a very wise choice! The sauce was so rich that the shrimps were full of flavors! I am never a fan of peeling shrimps but they are easy to peel, even with my mouth biting them off gently is not that hard. Their garlic noodle is not the same as the Vietnamese kind, it's pasta in garlic sauce, so not the best but acceptable. Overall the shrimps really wow me.

    Cajun sauce very little

Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with the Cajun food here. The seafood was very dry and there wasn't nearly enough sauce, which made the whole dish lack flavor. The shrimp especially tasted more like frozen shrimp than fresh--rather than being juicy and tender, they were quite dry and chewy. Overall, I expected much better quality and flavor from a Cajun seafood restaurant.

4.5 Stars Rating (: Been hearing about Cap't Loui for awhile now, but haven't tried it until now! I usually go to Cajun Bistro for seafood boil, but I find the quality of the seafood there to be inconsistent, which made me want to try a new place. I got the 4lb combo with crawfish (frozen, fresh is $5 extra), shrimp, and clams, including corn, sausages, and potatoes. We also got garlic noodles and a calamari basket with cajun fries. For seafood boil sauce, we opted for the cajun instead of lemon pepper. I wasn't sure if I would finish everything, but it was INHALED. I really like the seafood quality here, but sauce-wise, I prefer Cajun Bistro for the garlic butter sauce. Cap't Loui does not offer that sauce, but it was still delicious overall. Service is timely and our food came fast, so thats a big plus. Only complaint I have here is that I wish there was more sauce in the bowl. The bowl had too much food, so I couldn't dip or soak my seafood in the flavor.

2lbs shrimp 2lbs crawdads. Perfect for 2 people!!!

This has to be the most overdue review I've ever written. Cap't Loui not only is the best seafood boil restaurant around but also one of the best restaurants PERIOD. 5 star restaurant that includes 5 star food (shrimp, crawdads, garlic noodles, garlic bread, Cajun fries), 5 star cleanliness, and the most outstanding 5 star service you will ever receive. My wife and I consistently come to Cap't Loui for our beloved Friday date nights at least once a month. We are ALWAYS so impressed with the yummy food (we always get 2lbs shrimp/2lbs crawfish combo in Medium Cap't Loui sauce with garlic noodles, garlic bread, and Cajun fries). Wifey and I are stuffed after this but will cleanse our palate with complimentary popsicles in the freezer by the entrance. So yes, the seafood boil and food is absolutely phenomenal. But even MORE impressive is the generationally excellent customer service, in particular from Aung and Edward. They are true servant leaders and I noticed they take care of each and every patron as if they were family members or royalty. Between the delicious food and the brilliant customer service, you better bet your bottom dollar that my wife and I will continue having our traditional Friday night dates at Cap't Loui!!!!

A decent alternative to Boiling Crab with the key difference being wait time. Reasonable wait times, competitive pricing, nice presentation of foods, clean restaurant. Unfortunately service isn't that great. Not very empathetic. On this visit, there was plenty of seating. They sat us next to the door and they even noticed that a person in our party od cold. We asked if we could sit elsewhere and they only want to squish us into a booth. We even asked if we could add a chair to the end of the table or if they could combine other tables, and they said that was our option or stay at the current table by the door. We chose to just stay by the door since we didn't want to feel squished. Note that all but one of the additional tables in the middle of the dining area went unused while we were there...meaning there should have been no reason why we weren't able to use tables there.

    Carly L.

Pretty good but I noticed that some of the shrimp was probably dead shrimp or wasn't the freshest shrimp, it was hard to peel and and was kinda mushy. Not all the shrimp is like that but just some.

Shrimp with corn on the cob and broccoli (mild, 2 lbs)
    Jacie N.

Delicious, really enjoyed the seasoning. The broccoli was actually a great side, the florets hold in all the sauce. Staff were friendly and helpful. It's actually sort of a small space, not great for larger parties bigger than 4 (you'll probably end up waiting). Free popsicle at the end of your meal! What a great idea, it's definitely needed after the spice and seasoning.

Came here with my coworker last night after work. She was craving cajun seafood. It was about 7pm, half empty. About 7:30pm, the whole place became packed. The staff brought the menu, we said it was our first time here, how do you order. I think he was either new or just shy but he didn't explain much how to order, other than I asking questions. My coworker and I ordered their 2 lbs; 1lb shrimp, half clams, half calamari with a free side of Corn. In a bag/plate, it already includes corn and potatoes. We asked how many corn there was, he said there was ONE. When the plate came, there was 4. We could of ordered something else for the side if it was clearer. I wish there was more clearer instructions on ingredients when we already said it was our first time dining in. Also there was only ONE single potato. My coworker also ordered a side of Garlic noodles. Everything was super delicious. It was the amount of spicy mild that we like. The environment was busy, but clean. Parking was easy to find. Just more explaining about what you offer, where the gloves are to eat, rather than you just pass us this tray of stuff. A need of more customer service would had been nicer.

We love the Capt Loui sauce in mild. We love spicy and believe or not mild has just the right amount of spice in it for us. We tried the medium heat and it was still really good but too spicy for us.

Yes. Sausage, corn and potatoes all get boiled in the same pot.

Have wanted to try this place for quite some time but now that we're a bit closer, we finally made it in. Located in downtown Saratoga, there is coveted but limited street parking and more parking in the back. We came and sat down right away on a busy Friday night. There are a few booths in the back and we were seated there. The kids enjoyed the fish decor and friendly service. They gave the kids a color sheet menu and crayons. We ordered the crab artichoke dip to start and the halibut fish and chips with an oyster po' boy. My son also ordered his 1st cheeseburger which he shared with his little sis. I got a nice cold IPA and the my son ordered an apple juice but they accidentally gave him a lemonade and quickly replaced with the correct apple juice as well. Food came out hot and delicious! We all devoured the carb artichoke dip on the baguette toast chips. The wife and I split our meals and both dishes were excellent. The oyster po'boy was crispy and tasty, I liked the bread but my wife thought it was too dry. The star was the fish and chips with a crispy thick batter but fresh well portioned halibut strips. We all ate the fries and drank our drinks. The cheeseburger was flame broiled and pretty good as well. Would come here again to try the other menu dishes. My husband had a watermelon mule and I had my usual Shark fin. Both really good! If you like a cocktail with a little bit of sweetness to it, Either one is great. I believe the watermelon mule is a summer seasonal drink. The edamame may be a simple appetizer, however it is perfectly steamed and a great addition to a cocktail. I ordered the house salad which I really enjoy. It not your ordinary house salad. It has shiitake mushrooms, tomatoes, edamame, sprouts, miso dressing over greens. So god and well placed together. I also ordered the grilled salmon chowder and what an amazing mixture of flavors. So delicious! My husband ordered the Verlasso Salmon with Thai Brussells sprouts and creamy mashed potatoes. He really enjoyed the combination of flavors.
