I love hitting up Bag O Crab for my garlic noodle fix whenever I am having a craving. They've got a casual vibe, with some fun lamps as decor to really "highlight" their offerings. Puns aside, their noodles always hit for me. I admit, I've yet to try their bag o' crab (clearly their specialty) -- or any seafood boil bags for that matter, but it smells delicious & there always seems to be a good amount of diners enjoying themselves. They provide disposable bibs & gloves to help keep your hands & clothes clean. Staff is always friendly & they even when they seem busy. There is also an order kiosk you can utilize for takeout in case the staff are attending to other tasks/guests. I always seem to come in the last hour or so, when I am getting off work and feel like I don't want to cook dinner -- so I usually order to-go. When I get the chance to come by earlier in the day, I will definitely be ordering one of the combos~ Atomic sauce is their most popular, and contains all four of the other sauces combined. So my family picked it up for to-go so I can't speak on the ambiance nor the service. I can only speak on the food. The garlic noodles are thick and chewy with a good garlic flavor. They're good, but not the best I've had. With my combo 1, I got head-on shrimp and clams with the atomic sauce and mild spice. I heard the atomic was a combination aka Whole She-bang etc. which is what I normally get from seafood boil places. It was ok, nothing too special, very chunky sauce with lots of garlic. The mild spice, however, was really more like a medium spice as it only took a couple of shrimp to really feel it. For my head-on shrimp, most of the shrimp heads were already like detached from the body which defeats the entire purpose of it. They were also on the small side which I know it's by the pound but it's noticeable. It was very underwhelming in terms of that. The clams were good, not much to say about those other than they were absolutely drenched in the chunky sauce. Overall, this place is ok. Despite my fondness for Cajun food, I've tended to avoid seafood boil places because it's so messy, and so difficult to get the meat out of the crab shells (or lobster, or shrimp if they come with shells as they do here). But when I saw that this far-from-ubiquitous chain had opened an outlet right near my home, I figured I'd try it. And I was pretty satisfied. First off, they have a lunch special, which is smaller than their regular combo. Second, you get two out of a choice of half a dozen shellfish: I picked clams, which are really easy to get the meat out from the shell, and crawfish, which aren't so difficult to extract the tail meat (the only edible part worth the trouble) from either. Comes with potato and/or corn. Third is that the food comes with not only a bib and a towelette, but clear plastic gloves. I put these on and felt no difficulty in eating off them, and they did keep my hands clean. I like that. Although there are two levels of spiciness below "mild," I found the mild to be not too spicy, and the Cajun seasoning was delicious, worth scooping up in my gloved hands after I'd finished the seafood. I heard a bit of buzz on Bag O Crab when it opened a few months ago and decided to try it out during lunch time on a Saturday. They have really good lunch special prices for their combos and plates, but the special pricing is only on weekdays. Service was friendly and prompt. It's quite spacious inside. I will be honest and say the food is quite lackluster. The seasoning wasn't really flavorful and it tasted more oily/buttery. I understand there is a lot of butter in seafood boil sauce mixtures, but that was all I tasted here. Food: - Combo 1: Mussels and head-on shrimp with atomic bomb sauce. Combo includes sausages, corn, and potatoes. The mussels had no flavor to them even if they were swimming in all that sauce. - Louisiana Seafood Pasta: It didn't taste that seafood-y. The pasta noodles were cooked al-dente. The sauce tasted like Nissin Cup Noodles Chicken flavor ramen seasoning, not really Louisiana style. Our server was extremely rude. When we walked in it was not busy at all. We were sat at the table on the corner edge by the cash register. Once this waitress came over she peeked over the wall made eye contact with me without greeting us and said "do you want anything to drink?". I over did it in Vegas and couldn't face a seafood boil for years. My son wanted to try Bag O Crab that took over Rubio's. We ordered combo 2 with one lb snow crab legs and 3/4 lb shrimp heads off, the heads is what got me years ago. We ordered original Cajun flavor, mild, a box of garlic fries, lemon pepper wings and garlic noodles to go and shared it with the family. It was so good. We have gotten two more to go orders in the last month. The lunch special is the best deal for $15. We also ordered garlic noodles, fries and wings to go with it. The fried oysters and fries are good too. From the bag, the crab legs are what you expect in a crab boil, messy and flavorful. Flavor is Cajun, a kind of cayenne, spicy, peppery, garlicky, paprika, oniony and herbs. Some of the shrimp was just the perfect texture, easy to tear off the tail shrimp, a few of the shrimp was mushy. Sausage was over cooked, corn was delish from the sauce in the bag, so messy. The potatoes in the bag were okay. Garlic noodles are garlicky and a tad overcooked. It's a nice serving in a box. The garlic fries are the best! A big portion in a box, crisp and thin like McDonald's fries but better. Fried oysters - yum, there are very few oysters that I don't like. Wings are lemon pepper. They are good sized and not dried out. Shrimp po boy wasn't a favorite. The bread and shrimp wasn't what we are use to. We called in the order and it's ready when they say. We asked for one lunch bag and good thing we confirmed two orders of wings, two orders of garlic noodles, and one order of garlic fries which of course they had to say, not two. We ordered fried oysters at the counter without calling it in and they let us know it'll take 15 minutes. The place is new and not grimy. Not a lot of employees running around. We ordered to go so we can enjoy eating this delicious messy meal at home. We will definitely be back. I've driven by this place a couple of times and got the chance to come in at lunch. When you walk in, there's a kiosk on the side for ordering or you can order with the server. You seat yourself after ordering and there were a good amount of tables inside and outside. I liked how they offered self serve utensils, scissors, gloves, and bibs. They don't have servers coming around to check on you so I definitely liked this option. I got the lunch combo with shrimp, mussels, and 2 potatoes. I got Cajun seasoning and no spice. There were about 6 or 7 shrimps and 6 or 7 mussels so roughly half a pound each. The shrimp quality was inconsistent. Some of the shrimp was mushy and hard to peel. Some of the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The mussels were good but I thought they were rather small. I wish they gave more sauce in the bag! The sauce is pretty thick so it clumped together. It didnt coat the seafood as well in my opinion. I do think this place has potential. I would come back here again but maybe for dinner time. I still left full and satisfied. I am a big fan of this place! It's about time my town gets a seafood boil restaurant. They have a pretty big menu with a variety of different items to choose from such as seafood pasta, chicken wings, and lobster tails. Another unique item that my wife was super happy about was a boiling egg add-on. I thoroughly enjoyed their mussels & shrimp soaked in their Atomic mild sauce. The atomic sauce is basically a blend of each of the sauces all in one. I highly recommend ordering an extra side of their sauce because not only is the sauce delicious but there's not much in the bag itself. I loved their garlic noodles; I thought it had a distinct taste to it which is unique. Also, for the price of about $7, the amount of garlic noodles packed into the box is a such a great bargain. Their lemon pepper wings are tasty and has a nice crispy outer layer to the wings. I will admit, there's not much of the lemon pepper seasoning but nonetheless, the wings themselves are big in portion and worth buying. I paired this with plain white rice while also dipping my wings into the seafood boil atomic sauce. I'd like to thank Phil for treating me and my wife like family. His customer service is excellent overall. He's full of enthusiasm and I can tell he loves his job. This is one of the main reasons why I will come back. Recently, a big corporate chain clawed itself out of bankruptcy. Thanks to their new CEO, they're now popping off after the launch of their seafood boil. We have been waiting months for Bag O Crab to open, and it was worth the wait! This place was solid, highly recommend. The decor is bright with the ubiquitous nautical-themed decor, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I liked the self-serve station with plates, utensils, condiments, etc. We dug in before I remembered to take some photos, but I took a few to share! Food - We were hungry! Ordered a little bit of everything: Gumbo & clam chowder: Both were tasty and flavorful. Would like to get just a tad few extra grains of rice in the gumbo. The clam chowder was not very thick but was chock full of clams and flavor. Would recommend having Tabasco sauce available, but we drizzled some of the sauces from the crab boil and it did the trick. Garlic noodles: Nicely done, great garlic flavor without being overpowering. Lemon Pepper Wings: Crispy and delightfully lemony. I'm sad that Rubio's closed but Bag O Crab is a fun replacement! I went for lunch and ordered at the kiosk. My husband got a lobster roll, I got a lunch special with shrimp and snow crab legs, and we shared the garlic noodles. I got the lowest level of spice on mine and the seafood was perfect, but the corn was spicy enough to make my nose run. I'm weak!! The garlic noodles were delicious and I will be ordering those every time. I like how the napkins, lemons etc are self serve. The whole place was very clean and didn't smell fishy at all. Caught them skimping portions again. They wanted to claim that "1/2 shrimp" meant "1/2 of 3/4lb" on the lunch special. Which was never true, we know from experience. And there is no indicator saying "1/2" refers to half of another thing. Thats blatantly obvious. But today, there's no excuses available trying to scam people huh? I got the regular combo 1. 3/4lb of shrimp (12oz, raw im assuming since that gives less than 12oz cooked). 4oz of raw shrimp (of this size) is between 8-9 pieces. Why did I receive A TOTAL OF 9???? That's AT BEST a little over 4oz, not even close 12oz. Even accounting for any variance, it is not even close. My last time here (2 weeks ago) getting this same combo was close to 20 pieces. There is no excuse for this ("oh we weigh it after it has half a lb of butter, that's why!"). Like what is your brain dead excuse now guys? I know your business doesn't get a lot of traffic, and you're financially struggling. But that is not justification to scam people. And let alone trying to be this egregious. I consider myself to have a pretty decent spice tolerance and I was SWEATIN while having my meal. They have scissors, wet wipes, gloves, bibs, and more nearby the soda fountain which was convenient. I changed gloves halfway and noticed some of the oil had seeped through my first pair of gloves (maybe I'm just a messy eater). Aside from the food, I feel like the music could have been louder. We had such an enjoyable and delicious experience at Bag O' Crab Sunnyvale! The seafood was absolutely flavorful and hit the spot--perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. What really stood out was the staff. They were very nice, welcoming, and attentive, making sure we were taken care of throughout our visit without feeling rushed. Another big plus: they had all the proper paraphernalia for a crab boil--gloves, bibs, tools, and everything you need to enjoy the meal comfortably and mess-free. This place is always empty when i visited for lunch. Their lunch specials have good choices and inexpensive for Sunnyvale area. Ambiance of this restaurant is great, located at the corner spot along with Pizza, Five Guys and many other restaurants. Their seafood tastes fresh and love their Louisiana sauce mixes in your seafood boil. I recommend this place to my coworkers and many others that crave good seafood boil or fried seafood. read more

Great place to get a Cajun style bag/bucket full of shrimp, crawfish, potatoes, sausage, and corn. Highly recommend the atomic sauce. Also highly recommend adding lobster and crab. The chain says Cajun but it's apparently run by people of Chinese descent (kind of like similar places elsewhere being run by people of Vietnamese descent). Overall, highly recommend. Have gone back once already and will likely go back again in the future. read more
