Very solid place in Duluth for a seafood boil! They have a bar area, and they usually have many patrons, so the atmosphere is very nice. I went on Tuesday, where they had $1 oysters, and everything was delicious. The service was perfect, and we were checked in on frequently by the waiters. The one thing that stood out the most to me was their fries from their wings basket combo. The fry seasoning and the sauce it came with were delicious. I've also had their $15 boiler deal during lunch on another day, and that meal combo is pretty worth it as well. Definitely come visit. read more

This is my favorite seafood boil restaurant. They always have great service, quality, and fresh seafood... even better than high priced steakhouses in downtown or midtown ATL. We usually order crawfish, live lobster, shrimp, and crabs with their hot spicy sauce. Inland shocker 4 hours away from the ocean! Some of the best seafood I've had in a restaurant FULL STOP! Ordered 6 lbs of food for our group of 4 seafood eaters. One pretty lady in our group opted for the chicken po' boy (which she claimed was delicious). Ordered the shrimp, crawfish, calamari and snow crab in Loui's sauce. OH MY GOLLY GOODNESS. Absolutely delicious. Ordering was a little confusing with the market prices but our waiter Daniel happily (and patiently) walked us through the process. Full transparency it was a little on the pricey side, but that's to be expected with a nicer inland seafood spot. Inside was very modern and clean. Food also arrived fairly quick. The Cap't Loui Special sauce is so doggone good, there's no other sauce we would choose. I highly recommend getting the corn, garlic noodles, or noodles in the bag as the sides. You can never go wrong with a good seafood boil. This restaurant is located in a great plaza with other various food options around. I've been here a couple times, once for a takeout order, and the most recent visit with my friend. My friend and I were promptly led to our table and our server came directly over to explain the menu. I went with the 1/2 pound snow crab and 1/2 pound no head shrimp with sausage as my side, while my friend ordered the shrimp, mussels, and boiled eggs. Our bags came out after about 5 minutes and we dug in. I love how a corn and potato is included, however I wish it was multiple small potatoes instead of one big one and that the corn was a bit larger (but that's just me being picky). All we can say is. OVERPRICED! Their market price is way too expensive and not worth it. If you just want to eat crabs and shrimps and lobsters, Just go to other seafood restaurant or buffet. But not on this one. We all agree not to come back on this one. The waiter didn't even informed us that they based the menu's on a Market price! This place is so good! One of the best seafood boil spots in Gwinnett! I love that this is the only place that has live clams, can't find them anywhere else unless I make them at home. The sauce is so good, add in some garlic noodles and it will always make your me perfect! Their oysters are also pretty fresh as well. You can't go wrong if you come here. We both got the shrimp boil bag. I got mine with the Cap't Louie sauce and HOT!! I added extra corn and potatoes! When I tell y'all it was absolutely scrumptious!! One of my potatoes was a little hard, but still edible! Oh and it was HOT, just like I like it! I almost got extra-hot! Went on a Friday afternoon for the lunch special. You can pick 2 seafood and 1 side for $14.95 from 11:30-3pm on Mon - Fri excluding holidays. It is quite spacious inside and only a few tables were taken, but we had to wait longer than expected for our food. I got the clams and crawfish with Capt Loui seasoning, mild spiciness, and a side of garlic noodles. There were only a few pieces of seafood, so it wasn't filling but very good flavor. This place is packed. It's a cool little spot to get affordable seafood. And the waitstaff is super friendly and honest. I tried to order soft shell crab and the guy that was helping us looked at me and said do not get the soft shell crab lol. Truthfully, I think you shouldn't get anything that isn't part of the seafood boil. The fried items I ordered, the fish basket and po boy were very underwhelming. The fish felt overcooked and under seasoned. And I had to douse it in the remoulade. I did also get raw oysters which were good and apparently they do an oyster sale on Tuesdays so I will probably be back for that! My partner and I stopped by Cap't Loui's in Duluth yesterday (January 11) around 2 p.m. We enjoyed the food here previously and prefer it over the Decatur location but unfortunately, this visit was a rough one for us. We ordered our usual: garlic noodles on the side, with our main entree being crawfish, potatoes, sausage, and head-on shrimp cooked in the Cap't Loui sauce at a hot spice level. The food came out super fast, which even our waitress found unusual. While everything tasted good initially, things took a turn a few hours later. Both of us ended up with food poisoning. It's now almost 3:30 a.m., and we're still awake, suffering in serious pain. For a meal that wasn't cheap, plus a generous tip, this experience was absolutely disappointing. This is a really good seafood boil restaurant! The flavors are definitely better than other local seafood boil type restaurants. Service was very attentive making sure our waters were refilled and if we needed anything. The only negative remark I would leave is when you order from the boiler section, it only comes with a single potato and corn. That seems very meagre for the price you pay. I absolutely loveeeeee this place. This is my secret place so if I bring someone here, that means I love them. It may be a little pricey but it's worth every dollar. We generally get the boiler special B, so we can also get the garlic noodles as a side. A must have side imo. Can't go wrong with any seafood option, and we prefer medium to hot levels of spicy depending on the day and mood. Most people come for the seafood boil, but their po'boys are pretty good too. I've had the soft shell crab and calamari po'boys with lemon pepper fries before, and they really hit the spot! The lemon pepper fries help cut through the heavier cajun flavors, though we didn't order them this time around since we weren't as hungry. There's parking that's shared with the other places nearby, so it can be a bit busy. I've dined in a few times, but when we want seafood boil, take out is easier. Cap't Loui is hands down my fav and go to spot for seafood boil. We've been coming here for years. Now come prepared to drop some money but the seafood boil is just too good here. We got to sit at a table that let him eat comfortably. Our server was so kind and awesome!! Big thank you for being inclusive and accommodating! It's pretty spacious inside and there's some booths and tables from the entrance to the bathrooms. Their seafood boil is consistent from freshness, size of the seafood, to flavor. This is what you should order Get The Boiler Special- Either Special A or B -sauce- Capt Loui at medium spice level -snowcrab legs- we always order extra. It's pricy but if you're a crab legs lover like us this is your place to get them -shrimp- head off -crawfish -garlic noodles and/or noodles in the bag- Soooooo good mixed with the sauce in the bag -corn -hard boiled eggs -sausage -potato -fries dipped in the seafood boil sauce is good too Also, their oysters are good here. On Tuesdays they have a special- $1 an oyster. They are located in a small shopping plaza near Golden Corral. The only downside, which no fault to Cap't Loui at all, is the parking sitch is sometimes not the greatest. The parking lot tends to get super packed during lunch and dinner times...especially on the weekends so come prepared to do a couple of circles around the parking lot to find a spot. Went here with a friend on Sunday evening for dinner. They weren't very busy and we were seated immediately. I had a crab boil with the Capt Loui special seasoning. It was good but I thought the corn and potato were on the smaller size. My friend had a half pound of crab legs, half pound of shrimp without the head, a side of garlic noodles and she added boiled eggs to her bag. As others have mentioned, the noodles were delicious. Kids here are used to force tips as well. 5 of us and 2 kids in car seats and they charged us 40$ in tip with never any service given. Kids were seen as a party of 7!. I stumbled upon Cap't Loui when one of my girlfriends suggested we come here for a weekend lunch. I was so impressed with the food that I ended up introducing some picky coworkers to this place a few days later, then they wanted to bring more picky coworkers here, and that is the story of how I ended up dining here 3x in 2 weeks. The lunch special is ahmazzzing! I really hope they don't realize what an incredible deal this is and decide to go up in price because that's how great this is. So, listen - for lunch, at $12.95, you have your choice of two options: seafood boiler special OR a fried basket special., If you order the seafood boiler, you get to choose TWO seafood and it comes with a side AND soda! Like, holy crap. The fried basket special comes with fries and a soda for the same cost. The lunch special is available 11:30 - 3PM Monday - Friday excluding holidays. I have tried most everything here but I keep going back to the OG: the seafood boiler. My typical lunch order is shrimp and mussels with cap't loui seasoning, medium spicy and garlic noodle. The garlic noodles come on the side and they're awfully garlicy and cheesy, so I typically strip all my seafood, scoop sauce using my mussels shells, and make another pasta dish with the order. It is SO GOOD. My picky coworkers have all raved about the shrimp and fish. I've had both and they were fresh, fried well, and delicious. PRO TIP: ALWAYS order the lemon pepper fries. Their lemon pepper seasoning is incredible. Ambiance is fun, as you would expect from a hands-on seafood restaurant. It's a very clean establishment and although they are usually busy, I've never had a long wait. I also appreciate having handwashing sinks outside of the restroom so you don't have to take up a restroom to clean your hands.
