I was in the area and craving fried oysters, so I decided to stop by. Originally, I was only planning to order the fried oysters with fried shrimp and fries. I had tried a seafood boil from here a while back, and the sauce wasn't as good as what I've had from a local competitor. However, my boyfriend insisted that we give it another try, so we ended up ordering the Kickin Combo #1, along with a dozen raw oysters and an order of fried oysters and fries. The raw oysters came out first. I didn't want any, so they were for my boyfriend. Immediately after trying the first one, he wasn't happy with it. He said it tasted fishy but decided to give another one a try, thinking maybe the first was just a bad one. Unfortunately, the second wasn't any better, so he sent them back. Next came the fried food, which is never a miss. I absolutely love the fried oysters here. Then the seafood boil arrived, and at first glance, it looked promising. The seafood appeared large and fresh. I grabbed a shrimp first, sucked the head, and immediately noticed a strong fishy taste. I then dipped the shrimp into the sauce, but the sauce was watery and lacked flavor. I tried a few of the other items in the boil, including a mussel, but the texture was extremely chewy. Between my boyfriend and me, we ate a total of about ten or less things from the boil before deciding we were done. Unfortunately, it was not good whatsoever, and I was extremely disappointed. I asked if there was anything that could be done, and the manager offered to reheat it. I explained that the temperature wasn't the issue but the fishy taste and the texture of the seafood. He then said there wasn't anything else he could do besides take 20% off the bill. While I appreciated the discount, it was still disappointing given how much of the meal we were unable to eat. The service itself was good, and the ambiance was chill, especially since we went during dinner. Unfortunately, though, the food quality of the seafood boil and raw oysters overshadowed the positives for me. All in all, I won't be returning. read more

The seafood is a 10/10!! This is a must try spot if you're in town. The crawfish is fresh and juicy! I will say the crawfish prices are most worth it especially when they have the $10/lbs deals on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! Add ons for corn, potatoes, and sausages are reasonable prices and they do not skimp out ok the sauce! I've tried the cajun fries and the garlic noodle! The garlic noodles are okay they're more dry and have whole garlic in it instead of minced. But the fries remind me of steak and shake skinny fries! The service is great. Servers are attentive and make sure your water's always filled. The place is clean and there's a double sink outside the restrooms that make it easy and convenient to wash your hands. I had 1 lb shrimp--no head with 1 corn and 1 egg for $14.99. I also had the garlic noodles appetizer, which is enough to share! The dining experience is casual and clean. Plenty of seating and nice service. It wasn't too busy, so my food was prepared quickly. The meal was hot and fresh and overall tasted good. I got the Kickin' Style sauce, which had an unexpected sweetness; also, the spice was more than medium as requested. Aside from these things, it was all good. This is the best seafood boil place we have had and for sure glad we came. The service is good, very friendly and attentive. The place isn't huge but is very open and I like that they have a long sink that you can wash up outside of their bathrooms. Now back to the food. The prices are a bit higher than other places but the seafood is amazing. We got snow crab, shrimp, crawfish, corn, sausage, egg, and potatoes. You need to get the KC Sauce (mix of all sauce) and the medium version was good for my wife I got a side of their spicy but will probably get the spicy spicy next time. This sauce, is no joke, the best sauce at any boil place we have had. It for sure enhances the seafood without masking anything. The corn was so sweet and was excellent. Once my friend suggested we get a seafood boil for lunch, how could I say no? This restaurant is located near my workplace so I was already familiar with the area and all the other restaurant options in the plaza. We walked in and were immediately led to our table. We missed the lunch special by a few minutes but their drink special was going (3pm - 6pm), so we started by ordering $6 green tea shot cocktails. This is hands down the best place that I've had this drink at, with the perfect mixture ratio. I ended up ordering the $29.99 special that comes with 1 crab cluster, 1/2 lb of shrimp, corn, potato, and I switched the sausage for an egg. My friend ordered the 2 crab clusters special with the same sides but an extra corn and potato instead of the sausage. We both decided on the cajun sauce however I went with mild spicy while she got medium. Our bags came out after a few minutes and I appreciated how they poured them into trays for ease of digging in. Everything tasted PHENOMENAL with more than enough sauce included, the proper heat level, and the seafood cooked to perfection. Other side notes, there was well known music playing during our visit and the waiters checked up on us constantly instead of never returning to the table. Finally got a chance to try The Kickin' Crab after wanting to for MONTHS, and this place didn't disappoint. From the speed of service, to the amazing portions, to the friendly staff - my husband and I will for sure be here again. I didn't know what to expect as I had not heard of this place before nor had I searched the menu in detail prior to arriving. I only knew they had fried shrimp and for me (in that moment) it was enough. The interior was quite large and seated many customers. I visited on a Saturday night and it was quite busy but not overcrowded by any means. My husband and I ordered a handful of items: Shrimp Tacos, Garlic Noodles, KC Gumbo, and the Fried Shrimp and Fries. All was great. All had amazing flavor. I would say that from each of the items we ordered, the Gumbo would be the only one that I wouldn't consider to be a sharing size. If you like "garlic," the Garlic Noodles are for you. Not sure if the Shrimp Garlic Noodles option has fried or grilled shrimp, but either way I'm sure it would be just as fabulous. Service and live crawfish are the highlights. 2025 spring crawfish season has been fruitful because this spot is offering extra large delicious crawfish. The sauce is seasoned with Cajun flavors and makes sucking the head on these so enjoyable. We have heard raving reviews about the Kickin' Crab and finally had a chance to try them out! Wow! This place is excellent and the hype is true! We came at an off hour so it wasn't busy and the service was friendly and helpful. We ordered a dozen oysters, garlic noodles with the combo sauce at the mild spicy level (was great! Maybe next time we might order medium spicy level), and combo #3 with a Dungeness crab, with clams, shrimp, and craw fish, and a margarita, sprite and coke to drink. What a great place to have a seafood boil. The food was excellent, the vibe was kick back and hip and relaxed, and the entire experience was a 5 star feast! The garlic noodles come with the sauce you order, again I recommend the sauce that comes with 4 sauces combined, and you mix it with the garlic noodles. It's delicious! I prefer savory seasoning so I selected the Cajun spicy option. I was surprised to see a whole Dungeness crab when it came out as I thought it would be only the crab legs but then the price of the boil made a lot more sense to me. I thought the seasoning was very bland but I do know that if it sat overnight it would have been better. I really had a taste for crab legs. A bit disappointed I decided to order 1 pound of snow crab legs with the Cajun seasoning done "spicy spicy" and it definitely turned my experience around. I really enjoyed it. The spice gave it flavor that the other boil was missing. I love spice so I wouldn't recommend for people with less tolerance for it. FOOD: there are a good variety of foods including low country boils to fried shrimp to fried fish. The price was $$$ but there was also a lot of food. The combo #1 was a lot for 2 people. The Cajun fries were recommended to us and it was nice seasoning but would have preferred the thick instead of thin fries. SERVICE: so friendly and helpful! They even gave us a welcome 10% off discount. AMBIANCE: very clean, well thought out layout with hand washing stations, open (ish) kitchen, lots of good natural lighting. We saw The Kickin' Crab sign go up at and had to make a visit! I frequent this plaza a lot and was waiting for something good to join this spot. I love seafood boils! We were immediately greeted upon arrival. Service is great! Super friendly, attentive, and helpful staff! They all work together which is cool and makes it easier if you need to request anything like a refill, etc. They also do a nice job by checking in with each table regularly. The restaurant is clean, bright, and spacious. They also have two available sinks for quick hand washing outside of the bathrooms. Portions and flavors are great. We ordered The Kickin' combo meal #2. It consisted of shrimp (headless), clam, crab legs, sausage, corn, and potatoes. Everything was fresh too which I appreciated. We got the signature kickin' style sauce and it was tasty. We got it hot and it definitely comes with some good level of spice and flavor. I have to give them an extra shoutout for the nice sized shrimp and crab legs! I love crab legs and the ones we got at The Kickin' Crab did not disappoint. Corn was solid too! Good sized corns with lots of good fresh flavor. I also like to add boiled eggs to mine. Once again, it's great with the sauce. Get the garlic noodles to eat with the seasoning of the boil. As a seafood boil enthusiast, I come from the birthplace of this trend - San Jose, California. Therefore, I believe my opinion holds weight. After a disappointing seafood encounter elsewhere, I was eager to find a seafood boil spot locally! Juicy crab & hooknReel aint got nothing on this! This restaurant isn't like your typical gimmicky seafood boil restaurant with pirate theme signatures all over the wall. It's very clean and the customer service is attentive, kind, and patient! To start off we ordered the Gumbo: 8/10 I didn't expect much from the gumbo since it's not authentic Louisiana Cajun cuisine. Who puts corn in gumbo? Let's just consider it a Cajun soup. It was very tasty and piping hot! Blue Hawaiian adult Capri Sun 7/10 Comes cute in a cute Capri Sun pouch. Very tropical but on the weak side! Kickin combo deal #2 for $79.99 Kickin Style spicy Kickin style spicy sauce : 9/10 Not overpowering with too much seasoning, striking a nice balance between sweetness and spice. It did pack a punch in terms of spiciness, but I handled it like a champ. I'll opt for mild next time, just to play it safe. Shrimp : 10/10 Large shrimp. 1lb came with about 20-25 shrimp. fresh! Not mushy or overcooked Live crawfish : 10/10 same as the shrimp very flavorful & fresh! Not sure if it's live crawfish. Best crawfish locally. We are out of crawfish season, so im not sure if it's actual live crawfish. Whole Dungeness crab: 10/10 The whole Dungeness crab was amazing and so juicy and fatty upon opening. Very expensive for 55 bucks. I'd find 45 or even 40 to be far more reasonable. But hey, I didn't have to kill and clean it so I'm fine with that. I had a blast bussin that thang open! Sausage: 10/10 Not your typical cheap dollar store sausage! It's real smoked sausage and not overly spicy! A perfect touch Corn: 10/10 What can I say, corn is corn. Fresh and not frozen. Boiled eggs: 10/10 One thing I hate is overcooked eggs with the grey eye! These eggs were boiled to perfection and yes that makes a huge difference! Can I kiss the chef? In the future I hope for more choices for seafood and drinks! Maybe blue crabs or cluster Dungeness crab options. Also, more cocktails and perhaps bubble tea? Is that too much to ask for?
