But a restaurant of Sea Thai's caliber charging the maximum 4% credit card surcharge, on top of automatic gratuity, feels excessive and unnecessarily greedy. These are operating costs that should be reflected in the menu prices--not tacked onto the bill after the meal. The food was good, but the final bill left a much stronger impression than the meal itself. Instead of leaving excited to come back, we left feeling like the restaurant was focused on squeezing every last dollar out of its customers. Unfortunately, the billing practices overshadowed what could have been a great dining experience. I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for transparent, customer-friendly pricing.
