Picked this buffet because my husband read the crab legs were served hot. Crab legs were plentiful and delicious with all the required utensils and butter options. We also enjoyed the fried options like cocnut shrimp and cod. Enjoyed the shrimp and grits as well. Most all the fish we tried (fresh or fried) was tasty. The sides we tried were okay, small salty but we really came for the crab legs and fish. The service was exceptional, the place very clean with a bright atmosphere, and the buffett fully and continually stocked. Plenty of options for fish and non fish lovers plus options for kids like pizza and French fries. The dessert also had plenty of options. While we haven't been to other buffetts in the area, I would be happy to return to this one . read more

We went here on a Sunday night. They had parking. Their parking lot was tight. We waited about 10 min to be seated when we arrived. The place was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. This place is all you can eat. They had a variety of items from cold to hot seafood. Cold seafood ranged from shrimp cocktail, raw oysters, to fried seafood to fresh crab legs. They also had a variety of different non seafood items as well like ribs, chicken wings etc. they had a nice little dessert bar with cakes pies and a chocolate fountain. They have a full bar. Their prices were reasonable. They do add gratuity for large parties. This place was nice I will be back. read more

We tried out 3 AYCE seafood buffets while we were in town! Foodwise- this was by far our favorite. It had the most options for seafood lovers. It also had plenty of options for the nonseafood lovers as well. There was a large dessert selection! All the food was very tasty and warm. Plenty of crab legs, no wait and self serve! Our waiter was friendly but very soft spoken and at times hard to understand. He never let our drinks get empty and kept our trash bucket and empty plates cleaned up! We were looking for a good seafood buffet and decided to go here. I was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant was really modern and up to date. Service was excellent! Lukash was attentive and friendly. The food was flavorful and there were a ton of options. I partook in the fried fish, calamari, clams and chicken wings and then the snow crab legs. I think I ate 5 clusters all together. They were ok but about what you would expect at a buffet like that. This is a must-visit buffet which was super clean. There were plenty wait staff, so you're not waiting for too long. So, the staff is attentive and super friendly and the most fascinating thing about the restaurant is its amazing collection of model ships and other interesting items, so go for that. My wife enjoyed the crab legs, but to be honest, this food was pretty horrifying and a real punishment to the cardio system. It's all fried or drowning in butter or some fatty sauce. No local fish at all. Breaded shrimp and oysters were okay, but the very biggest thing missing in the kitchen is love. This restaurant does not cook with love. I ate there lastnight with my family, bit into a blue crab and all I tasted was ammonia, this was 9 at night , I stared feeling the symptoms by 1 am , headed to ER at 5 am with confirmed food poisoning. The restaurant will not answer my calls for a refund and the bill was $150 for 2 adults and 1 child , THANKFULLY the rest of my family didn't get sick. It was the last day of our trip and I had to pay a hotel an extra night to stay while I puke and shit myself every 20 minutes. Worst experience of my life. Not to mention the buffet closed at 9:45 when the restaurant says it's open till 10. My bf was SO mad he wasn't able to get any dessert because they took it all away. A Mixed Bag - Great Wings, Weird Brownies, and Cold Crab Legs I really wanted to love this place. Walking in, the atmosphere was fantastic--clean floors, a comfortable vibe, and even the restrooms were in good shape (minus one broken toilet stall). Right off the bat, the setting made it feel like we were in for a great dining experience. Unfortunately, the food and service didn't quite keep pace with the first impression. The Good Stuff First: The wings? Amazing. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Definitely a highlight. The pizza also delivered--great crust, tasty sauce, and fresh toppings. Honestly, if you're coming here just for wings and pizza, you're in good shape. There was also a gooey, creamy chocolate cake that totally hit the spot. Rich, soft, and indulgent--the kind of dessert you actually remember in a good way. Drinks were mostly solid too. Most were served quickly and tasted fresh, though the Sprite was noticeably under-carbonated (flat soda is a small but sad letdown). Now the Not-So-Great: Let's talk about the carrot cake. I don't know who thought it should taste like fruitcake, but it totally missed the mark. Overly spiced, with weird chunks of dried fruit--not what you'd expect when ordering carrot cake. The brownie had one of the strangest textures I've ever experienced. It wasn't fudgy or cakey... more like a spongy, chewy hybrid that didn't quite work. Cupcakes were just okay--the cake part was fine, but the mountain of icing on top was overkill. The steak? Yeah... no. The grouper was bland and dry, the crab legs were served cold, and the red seasoning on top looked faded and old. Also, the silverware literally bent while trying to crack a crab leg. Not a good sign. Service & Vibes: Most of the staff were friendly and attentive--our server did a great job. But there were a few employees off to the side joking around and goofing off, which was a little distracting and didn't fit the otherwise professional vibe. Final Thoughts: This place has potential. Great wings, solid pizza, and a killer chocolate cake could make it a go-to spot. But the inconsistency in the rest of the menu really drags it down. My 11-year-old nephew taught me how to pick snow crab legs! That alone was worth the price, in my opinion. Lucky for me, his Pop Pop paid the bill - double score! I also figured out how to pick crawfish. Once I learned these skills, I could have sat there for much longer, but all the experts were ready to go, so we went. I'm just going to have to find a local Baltimore buffet to hone my skills. Looking forward to that. We were a party of at least 10, so there was a bit of a wait, but that gave us time to catch up with some friends we hadn't seen since September, and to goof around with friends who came down to MB just for the day. Our waitress was competent. This was my first time at a Calabash, so I wasn't sure what to expect and still don't know if I should have expected better. The place was packed and our waitress didn't seem flustered or put out, so it seems to me that she's used to this kind of crush of people. And after seeing what was available on the buffet, I can understand why it would be packed every day. I didn't even see all the buffet tables. Once I got my snowcrab and a couple other items, I didn't see the point in trying the ribs (my father-in-law said that he cooks better), chicken (looked like something my grandmother used to make - simmering chicken legs in sauce for an hour), veg, fruit, pasta, and pretty much anything else you can think of. I love that there are trash/shell bowls on the table, so you don't have to pile them endlessly on the table. There's butter dipping sauce, and cocktail sauce for shrimp (I had quite a bit of shrimp), and Lord only knows what else available. Several people in our party had salads, though I don't know why. My boyfriend had the steak and he exclaimed that it was "Stupid good" - a couple days later he had a steak at California Dreaming that was horribly overcooked. So get the buffet steak. It's delicious! He also says that the stuffed flounder was a wash. The fish was good but the stuffing was not. The dessert selection is no joke. I had some amazing butter pecan ice cream, but a couple people had soft serve. There was also berry cheesecake bites, cookies, cannoli, an assortment of pies... The strawberry daiquiri was incredible. Gotta love a buffet where you can get a quality cocktail. Yes it's expensive, but you're on vacation, right? You wanna have a once-in-a-lifetime experience? So, when I dialed this into Google Maps, I didn't know the buffet was going to be so low brow. We went in not knowing what it would be like. This place is heavily advertised in the coupon books etc. I give it a 2 but this place is a hair less quality than Golden Corral on a Sunday. The place was packed. I was trying to imagine the original buffet I went to back in 2017, the first time I went to one of these many, many buffets. That one was massive and had 5 rooms and was also packed (and some of the patrons were also half-ton weight class). This one was not so massive, and based on the patronage, everyone was under 30 generally speaking. The place is very well lit, the food area was messy and competitive, the bathrooms are oriented near the buffet and away from the eating area, which reminds me of a Friendly's or a diner seating. Everyone is there to eat the endless crab legs. The other food is fine, but nothing to write home about. I did like one of the beef dishes. I was not convinced it was all that sanitary. When we were there it was chaos, so a lot of the dishes were splattered around on the buffet and mixed into each other. Many kids under 16 running around. I felt dumb for eating here. read more

The food was bland, the salmon was over cooked probably from still cooking on the bar, the oyster Rockefeller were mushy and not good at all and not on the half shell but in an aluminum shell shaped thing. Fried calabash shrimp was greasy. Scallops were just small bay scallops with no flavor. Only up side was our waiter was great.
