This is a claw for a $150.00 a dozen crabs

This place has excellent snow crab legs. I've never been disappointed with the size or the freshness of the snow crab legs however our last purchase of Jumbo male crabs at $150 a dozen was beyond disappointing. It felt like robbery. The pictures I post will speak for itself, there is no way that we were sold jumbo crabs. Luckily we only purchased a half dozen and were given exactly 6 crabs. PS my hand is not big.

This was my first time at Captain Dan's. My niece who is also a crab lover recommended this spot. We were both craving crabs and we wanted to dine-in and relax. My niece called ahead to make sure that their dining room was opened, and it was. We arrived at 11:00 AM and we were greeted promptly by the two young ladies at the counter. We walked into the dining room and we had it all to ourselves until the lunch crowd started filtering in, and we were wrapping up our lunch by that time. Ireland was our Hostess and she was pleasant and attentive to our requests. She brought out our drinks, followed by the corn on the cob and then... the CRABS! The corn was hot, sweet and juicy. The CRABS were nicely seasoned, meaty, sweet and juicy too. We devoured the corn of the cob and the crabs. Because of the size, we were both pleased with 6 each. We left satisfied. I have to mention the sink in the dining room with the foot peddles. How convenient is that. I was able to wash my hands without touching any faucet handles. I think all crab houses should be required to have sinks with foot peddles in the dining room. YAH!!! I will definitely be back. P.S.: You may want to bring a bib.

We found our new favorite local crab spot ! Service and food was great. You don't need to go all the way to Baltimore inner harbor when you find this gem of a spot for your cravings of old bay Md crabs. We ordered their MD crab soup, cream of crab soup, coleslaw, and seasoned fries. They had several draft beers, and a convenient hand washing station to wash off the old bay seasoning. We'll be back each summer!

    Nothing Better!!

Nothing better!! Fat, heavy crabs, perfectly seasoned steamed shrimp, all prepared and presented by terrific staff! Just can't ask for anything more; (except that maybe the Orioles win 10 in a row!)

We made another awesome visit to Captain Dan's for a special Easter dinner. We had plump, crispy, delicious Old Bay wings and a couple dozen sweet Choptank oysters to start. We also had creamy, generous Crab Imperial, sea scallops, stuffed flounder and a huge portion of cheesy fries. I intentionally ordered a dozen small crabs...which with the deal of the day meant I got 15. They were heavy for their size, full of meat, perfectly and freshly steamed and seasoned. Everything was amazingly good. Everything was served promptly and our waitress, Rachel, was friendly, professional and proficient. We are looking forward to our next visit to Captain Dan's...frankly the best crab house I've ever visited (compared to many visited over many years). The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, the food is spot on and all of the employees we met are helpful and pleasant.

Our first time trying this place, my Husband used to ride pass here on his way to work. We went to the Carryout and purchased a dozen Male Jumbos with extra seasoning. They were meaty and sweet, and seasoned very well. They sell other Seafood items such as Crab Cakes, Fish Patters, Sandwiches, Soup, Salads and Wings. The Staff was friendly, I will be coming back for more Crabs.

I was told that this was a medium sized crab

Ordered a half bushel and they were ready in just under an hour. They were mixed medium and large and they were great! Down to the bottom of the box they were excellent. I also got some of their deviled eggs which were a little sweet but tasty and a pint of their shrimp salad which was good. Spiced shrimp came in 3 different size shrimp for you to choose and they were also great. I sat in the parking area while waiting for it to all be ready as the shop is big enough to accommodate folks ordering but if you stay you'll be in the way. They have their top combos or you can build your own. They also have blue crab of course and make sure you place orders in advance as they sell out especially on holidays. There is nowhere to eat inside or sit so you can order to go prior or stop in and get yours to go as well. The staff is wonderful and it was nice to talk with the other customers as we waited for ours. It's not big inside just a couple counters with food options to choose from and you take with you to go. They have all the seasoning and sides for sale also, along with frozen items and even paper for your crabs if you need it.

I love when real corn beef is on the menu and not just on a Reuben. The Irish grits were a new thing I didn't know I needed. The flavors gel so well together. I'll go back again to try dinner but I sure hope for a better reception.

It was fun to watch the crowd of customers anticipate their 3-4 course meal w pairings. I researched afterward and saw they're just about monthly, $65 which is a steal, and it appears they sell out. Definitely worth participating. I have 50 11 food allergies so I may have to sit this one out. Another great visit down in the books!!

Moving on it was a large group of us but we got separate checks in couples yet 20% tip was added anyways. The main disappoint was the food. Broccoli ched soup - Was not mixed enough had a pile of cheese at the bottom not melted in Crab soup - Really chunky and too thick, not soup thickness. Pasta with shrimp - shrimp still had the tails on. Sauce to pasta ratio was way off literally drowning like thin soup and overall it just tasted like garlic. Short ribs pasta - Tasted like veal or some "wild" meat, when questioned the waitress didn't even know if it was beef, veal or "pig" (LOL) Lasagna - Tasted like frozen Stoffer's box, literally. Hamburger - Decent, but average and also not what we came for. Breadsticks were 5/5, best thing I ate there! and desserts were massive I mean enough for 3 people each but just ok tasted almost frozen or just really really cold or not thawn. I think what's worse is we told the waitress we didn't like some of the dishes and there was nothing in return besides "I'm sorry." They did offer to box our leftovers and give us breadsticks to go, that's the reason for 2 stars, instead of 1. Big disappointment after seeing some of the other older great reviews. But more recent reviews also state the food is bland / tasteless, and we agree. We won't be returning here. I don't suggest it.

I came here for my birthday and was so disappointed. I was excited to enjoy authentic Mexican food and the tiktok my daughter showed me did a good sale. I drove an hour out of the way and first saw the food sitting out that looked kind of cold and dry. We chose to get the tacos and carnes asada and was informed by the waitress the prices are different from what was on the menu. I asked for a tequila drink and it had mostly ice and tasted more like water than anything. The tortillas were dry and cracked to the point we couldnt even eat with them. The only good thing was the decoration. The worst part was the huge guy in the front of the restaurant. When the bill returned much higher than three plates and a drink should cost, he refused to proved a itemized receipt and also refused to let us speak to the waitress. Luckily, she came by and resolved a least some of the discrepancies. He was rude and said there are many more customers and that we are one of many.
