Wow!!! If only all restaurants could be this friendly and efficient. As we entered we were greeted joyously and worn a big smile. Unfortunately I didn't get the woman's name. Wife and had supper at this Captain D's last night, the food and service was good as always but the issue we had was the cost and the sizes of the portions. Wife got the 2 piece and I got the 3 piece meals. Our fish was very small compared to other times we been there. Wife got about 10-12 fries and I got a few more. Sometimes you are so hungry you don't care. You're craving seafood, you're on a budget and in a hurry. This is when you slum it and go to Captain D's. If there ever were a Captain D, he would be ashamed of the quality of food that is served under his name. Micro sized shrimp, nearly crabless deviled crab and fish that were it not for copious amounts of breading, would likely have no flavor at all are what you'll find here. On a brighter note, you can get plenty of cocktail and tartar sauce to drown your woes and flavorless seafood in. One could do themselves a favor by saving their nickels and opting for the slightly better bad seafood from the chain named after a Crimson Crustacean. read more

We said last time we went there that we wouldn't be back. Well, we went back this evening, big mistake. My wife and I both ordered the fish and shrimp combo. The hush puppies were pretty good, the shrimp wasn't too bad but boy did they ever shrink, less than half the size of the normal shrimp. My wife's fish was okay but mine was cooked too dry and more breading than fish. The restaurant was dirty, when I got our condiments I had to go wash my hands again because everything was so sticky that it was gross. The mens room was dirty, paper towels everywhere. It's not often I crave Captain D's, but when I do, I would appreciate it if the food was not cold. Today, my entire meal was COLD, even the service by Georgie (sp). I ordered the $4.99 Trio (I think that's what it's called. I can't refer to my receipt, bc Georgie (sp) did not give me one, I'm sure it was on purpose, bc she knew her service sucked and I asked her name, which she gave with the buck, stinky eyes. My meal included: One piece of fish, 5 itty bitty shrimps and 1 piece of crab cake with coleslaw and fries as the sides. Georgie (sp) asked if I wanted the slaw and fries, I asked if I can switch out the coleslaw for mac n chz and she said, "Yes". When she gave me my total, I asked why so high and she said, the mac n chz is considered a premium side and it's .35 more. I told her she didn't say it was extra and bc she didn't, I told her I would take the coleslaw instead. REAL TALK, she picked up the bag and threw it in the window and told the cook to put coleslaw in it. When I asked her why did she throw it, she stated, she did not throw it.....yeah, ok......Georgie (sp). She gives me my brrrrr, cold order, I asked her name and this is where I get the buck, stinky eyes. Next time, if there is a next time, I would like my food the temp it's suppose to be. This is in my opinion one of if not the best Capt Ds of all of their places. Attentive staff even brings your meal to your table and checks to see if you need anything at all a couple of times during your meal. Lots of value meals w drink for $3.99. You get a full plate too at that price. They understand service should exist even in fast food restaurants. Great people here!! read more

First let me mention I love capt D and I have allergies . Went through drive through ordered rice pilaf and tilapia . Drive through lady had no experience with gluten allergies to wheat ( real allergy no via for attention) had a attitude. Fish came and very poor quality in fact worst talapia I have ever received meat was real dark gray ! . Husband said hey let's keep her (my) hush puppies and just put them in his bag a complete tude again she says so what you want all your hush puppies then ??? Who reviews a Captain D's. Really? It's about like every other Captain D's I've been to, which is pretty good for what it is. Anybody who goes here probably knows what he's getting. So, if you want some good fish and fries at a reasonable price; this is a good place to go. Lent is approaching, so I'd avoid it and every other seafood place on a Friday until after Easter. We had dinner there tonight and it was terrible!! It was greasy and just yuck!! I also ordered and order of the fried pickles which use to be the best in town and not only were they awful. You get 9 pickles for 2.69. I spoke with the manager on duty and I told her that the food there use to be excellent and she said "I know", "I don't even eat here." OK, being a Louisiana girl this was my first time to try a fast food seafood restaurant, but my husband loves it. So I decided that today would be the day. Let me start by saying that the FOOD itself was wonderful. Everything was fresh and great. I'm giving it a 2 because the service was not good at all. First of all, the cashier was not very friendly. Secondly, the wait was ridiculously long and no one even told us it would be that long. It wasn't that busy, so it was a little extreme. I do understand that it takes time to make fresh food, but I still found the wait to be a little long. Lastly, they did not give us all of what we asked for. They left the tartar sauce out of the bag when I specifically asked for a TON of it. So we got home (tsk tsk on us for not checking the bag) and had lots of seafood and no tartar sauce. Just wasn't that great of an experience. I'd go back because for the price we paid you get some great food, but I would most definitely check the bag next time...and hope for better customer service. read more

The lady who was mopping the floor stopped mopping the floor and went to get my food that was up to put it in the bags. She did not WASH her hands! When I told her that she didn't she said I didn't touch the food, yeah well you touch the boxes and popped them open to look at the order. The point is you went from mopping the nasty floors to touching food! Manager came and gave me my money back he was really quiet and unapologetic however, the general manager was there and he was NICE and apologetic about the situation and said he would speak to them, but honestly this is not ok that she thought it was ok to do! I felt the manager could have apologized or something but his lack of an apology made me feel that he didn't see the issue either. I hope the general manager gets this addressed. Not mention she was sweating a lot and her hands did appear to be unclean too. Hope they get this fixed soon but I won't be back. read more

This is a great location. The place is very clean including their restrooms and kitchen. The professional manager hand delivered us our order and took our plates. The fish is cooked to perfection and there are plenty of sauces to choose from. I was able to eat here for under $6 with a coupon.
