This review is really about the drive-in as I didn't go into the restaurant, but the restaurant does appear to be fairly new, well lit with plenty of parking. The good news is everything was available and there wasn't much of a line. The bad news is after placing my order and pulling up to the window. I sat there for another 15 minutes, waiting for my order to be handed out the window. During that time, the young lady working the drive-through window, simply sat with her back against the window and never offered an update or made an effort to go back and see what was taking so long. I stopped in for one of the combo specials and as usual the customer service was very good. For some reason there was a very long delay at the drive-thru, yet there were no other customers in line. The food did appear very fresh and hot when I received it. Everything was good, but the fish batter was extremely salty. This is my favorite fast food restaurant! Sure it's all fried food, but much better quality than the typical fast food restaurants. The sauce station is great. Don't miss out on the D's dipping sauce. It's a Cajun creole sauce with a tiny bit of horseradish kick. I ordered the deluxe seafood platter. It came with 2 fish fillets, 2 crab cakes, shrimp and 2 hush puppies plus 2 sides. I chose mac 'n cheese and fried okra. The mac 'n cheese was good quality for fast food. It was thick and cheese. The fried okra was great too. The fried fish was good, very flakey and tender. The fried shrimp were tender and tasty. The crab cakes were my least favorite, mostly bread, but crab is expensive so not a surprise, however the presentation was great in an actual crab half-shell. It was a lot of food and I couldn't finish it. My daughter order the popcorn shrimp kids meal. It too was delicious. She ordered corn on the cob and fries for her sides. The corn cake wrapped in plastic wrap to keep it warm and moist. She said she couldn't taste the butter and could have used more. The fries were good, much better than the Golden Arches in my opinion. They have a VIP program that you can sign up for to earn points at your visits which can get you free food. I've been to this location many times, and every single time they get it right. My order is always correct, the food is never given to me old and stale, and they're always generous with the vinegar and tartar sauce. I always use the drive thru, however the inside does always look clean when I pass by. The workers have never given me any kind of unnecessary attitude which is a plus. Never no more will you order a Sponge-Bobish square of frozen so-called fishy like fried patty again here, nope, not ever! I was with my mom when she suggested going to Captain D's and I felt my stomach turn at the notion, but oh well since I am vegan and would not consume anything here anyway I obliged this strange request and off we went. I have definitely had Captain D's at least once in my life, perhaps it was back in Richmond. That, however, was years ago. I had an intense desire for fish, and as much as I love to support local businesses, I wanted a drive thru, an easy menu, and a place that would definitely be open. Call me lazy, if you'd like. I had the 3 piece fried fish dish, with fries and mac and cheese. This all hit the spot for me that particular day, even though the fries weren't all that great, and the mac and cheese was not the greatest ever. The sweet tea was a disappointment - Mickey D's would have been a better choice. Yet my favorite part of the meal? The funnel cake fries desert! Make sure you get some Strawberry topping on the side to dip them in. I'm not the world's biggest funnel cake fan, but I am plotting to go back, even if that's the only thing I get! read more

The staff at the Pooler, GA location are always polite and friendly. Especially the General Manager Miss Teedris Burgess. She has such a warm smile and greets us like family every time she sees us. The Pooler restaurant is by far my favorite! I love that they have grilled fish options on their menu. COVID restrictions in place, only some employees wearing masks correctly, some had then under their chin. Tables blocked for distancing. Quite a few employees but they were mostly in the cooking area or working drive-thru. Food was fresh, hot and good. Main cashier was friendly. Being originally from Ohio, this type of food is always welcomed. It was nice to see that one popped up here in Pooler. While at first their start was rough due to the volume of people they had going, it has evened out a little bit. On occasion, they get the orders wrong, but this seems to be the standard for fast food places. However, that being said, the food is always hot and tasty and never "old" - they seem to not just let things sit around. Service is hit or miss as well. Sometimes they are very friendly and accommodating and sometimes they just want to get you out of there. I went drive thru and waited patiently. I don't mind a busy restaurant because the food is likely to come out hot and fresh. The wait was 15 minutes. I ordered 2 piece with 2 sides $7.90. I was surprised by the price, but its okay I can't eat food like this often. Unfortunately, the corn on the cob didn't have any flavor, even after I added salt and melted butter. If you are thinking about trying to eat here don't bother, it is NEVER OPEN for dinner. The employees are rude and the food is not worth it anymore either. It's cold or not cooked properly. If I could give this place zero stars I would. The manager Ivory is completely and utterly rude! There is no customer service at this location. They had a particular special going on and the signage to match I was told the sign is wrong and they don't "have a button" for the special. If the sign is wrong and you know it's wrong why is it still posted. I informed the manager Ivory that I would be calling corporate regarding his behavior and his answer was ok with an attitude. I informed corporate of his attitude and the situation they acted stunned and stated that I would receive a call back from the owner that was over a week ago. I have not spoken to anyone that is supervising over Ivory. I was excited to see that we were getting a Captain d's but after this experience I will never return. I do not recommend you spending your money or time here at least until they learn how to show customer service. read more

Kahdijah was amazing and very helpful! My boy's had certain things they wanted for their birthday (twins) with Capt D's as a backup plan well sure enough we had to use it. Wednesday 8/7/19 Kahdijah made sure the entire $60 order was right and fresh, something you rarely see in fast food these days! I went yesterday and ordered a 12 piece butterfly shrimp and a fish kids meal ( in the drive thru). Do you know I waited almost 20 minutes for it?! And then once I opened the kids fish meal it was popcorn shrimp instead! I took it inside and they were not apologetic at all. This is sad because it's the only Captain Ds in this area.
