Terrific lunch today. Not wanting to eat heavy at lunch but uncertain what dinner looked like, we sat down and had a nice lunch in a very clean atmosphere with a very pleasant server. Being a barbecue place and proud of their brisket I went with the two meat combo, including brisket and pulled chicken. By recommendation of our server, she suggested we go with the marble brisket, and I must say that selection was outstanding. Arguably the best brisket I've ever had, and I've had and a lot of it. It truly did melt in your mouth. Plenty of meat and plenty of flavor. Not to be out done, but the pulled chicken was also equally fabulous. Very moist very tasty. The meal kicked off with buttered biscuits. Those were outstanding. They'll also bring you more if you want. But watch it they're not exactly low-calorie. With the combo meals, you get a couple of sides and I went with the coleslaw and beans. Being a fan of coleslaw I thought it was quite good. It was juicy and fresh. The beans were also good. Smokey smell was fabulous upon entering but, I'm "on the fence" about the brisket that I had on my loaded baked potato. The potato itself was huge. It was the pepper on the brisket that was too heavy and since it was at the end of the evening, I believe I may have gotten the end of the brisket. I've had good and great brisket before and this one was in between. A bit dry and I took three bites and each one had a chunk of fat. Mind you, I love a flavorful piece of meat with some fat (fat being the best part sometimes) but it was just tasteless fat with no meat attached.... Enough about that. Besides, the waitress Brandi was the best! Sweet and attentive, she was most helpful and kept our drinks full and brought us to go cups without us even asking. Pulled pork was delicious , although I did't care for the sauce ( to each his own) the potato salad was ok and the Cole slaw was very tasty. The cornbread was hot and great with the butter. Although I do wish Jim N Nick's offered a lunch menu that was smaller portion and lower price, the food here is worth every penny. High quality, perfectly cooked meats and fresh cut watermelon as a side was superior. The little corn muffins are to die for. Management came up to check on us a couple times and make sure everything was good and I appreciated that. Great BBQ with large portions This restaurant is located at 147 Traders Way in Pooler, Georgia, just off I-95 near the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. It's location makes it a convenient stop for travelers heading north or south. It's part of a chain known for Southern-style, slow-cooked barbecue. Their menu shows that they feature brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and ribs. Access was easy with a straightforward entrance from the main road, and there was plenty of parking in the lot surrounding the stand-alone building. We didn't need a reservation and were greeted promptly by a friendly host who seated us quickly in a booth. The menu is a single 2-sided tri-fold page packed with lots of options, including meats by the pound, platters, sandwiches, salads, and a variety of sides like mac and cheese, greens, potato salad, and cornbread muffins. Portions are really large, so come hungry or be ready to get a to-go bag so you can have extra meals later. I ordered the baby back BBQ ribs, which were good and tender but had a unique smoky flavor profile different from what I'm used to. The tea was excellent. The staff was very pleasant throughout, checking in without being overly obvious. The restaurant was clean with a mix of booths and tables. Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q is a well known bbq restaurant chain. But I will say the food is always good. This particular restaurant is located along the Pooler Parkway. It is close to First Watch and the business center that has Chicken Salad Chick and Smoothie King. It has a large parking lot to accommodate vehicles. We did not dine in, we ordered using their convenient drive thru. It was easy to read the large menu and order. I will not say that it was quick. But I did not expect it to be. There were multiple cars in front of us. Our food was given to us in a manageable amount of time. I was not disappointed. When I read the menu I saw they had a family meal option! Jim N Nicks perfectly smoked turkey with extra smokiness I got the original barbecue sauce it has a nice little kickback with two sides of baked beans. The baked beans are very flavorful and Smokey; there's some pulled pork and chopped chilies in the beans. For drink I got a Mr. Pibb and my partner got a old fashioned. Our server, Brandy- let me tell you she's ultimately the best! She's super nice and has that southern charm and hospitality. Jim and Nicks is really good! 10/10 read more

Jim 'N Nicks in Pooler, GA is a great franchise! I love how consistent and fantastic this chain is... it's like comfort southern for me! I highly recommend their Mac & Cheese. It has a slight after kick, (not spicy heat) and it's addicting! Their iced peach tea is always delicious and so are their cheese biscuits... ummm they are dangerously good! It was not typical Jim and Nick's quality. Mom and I happen to be in Pooler, looking for something easy to take home for dinner. I lived in Birmingham for nearly 15 years, so I am very familiar with Jim and Nick's. The food at the flagship and the one in Birmingham's Five-Points area was always reliable and well prepared, but it wasn't my local go-to 'que. When I see oak logs stacked outside, I know there's good barbecue inside. J&N has oak stacks. We drove through. I got the brisket and asked for a mix of lean and fatty slices. What I got was an ounce of fat and maybe two ounces edible meat. It's was very tasty, though. And the greens were delicious. I was disappointed. I probably should have checked the order before driving off, but I really shouldn't have to, right? I'm just gonna chalk it up as a bad drive-through experience, and will go to the Savannah restaurant for a sit-down meal in July once they've opened and gotten out any new-restaurant kinks they may have. read more

My mom had a taste for barbecue last night, so I found Jim 'N Nick's through a quick google search. My mom absolutely loved the food. She had the pork sandwich with the potato salad and baked beans. My personal opinion was the food was flavorful, but I felt like something was missing. Still overall a great experience. The cheddar biscuits were surprisingly very good, and I enjoyed the baked beans. I think my issue was that I'm more of a charcoal barbecue person than smoked. As a vegetarian that came here with a group of meat-a-tarians. When you walk in you are hit with the aroma of BBQ meats. ImI ordered cheese fries & a side of Mac & cheese. I didn't want a salad (judge me I don't care lol). The cheese fries were pretty good although they had just a bit too much salt. My Mac & cheese didn't come so I don't what it tastes like. Had to have a large (20 people) lunch provided on 3 days notice, called J&N because I usually go there once a week. Didn't figure I could have it catered on such short notice so I ordered a 2 Go order 3 days in advance instead. Order was ready as they said at 11am and was picked up as such. Brought it all back to set it up for the lunch for the engineers and management personnel. Surprise!! All meat containers had meat inside but were all wrapped in saran wrap, so I'd unwrap one, wash my hands, unwrap another, wash my hands and so on. I did this for every pan of food. This was pain in butt. Surprise # 2...Food was luke warm to cold, mac and cheese was like a hardened brick ( not edible ). Even my favorite favorite baked beans were cold !!! Oh Yeah, We get a big tray of salad and even plates to dish food out but....you know, forks would have been an added pleasure don't you think?? Ever try eating baked beans with your fingers?? Never again, never, ever, ever again!!!!! A serious waste of $700.00 So does anyone really think I would recommend Jim and Nicks for a good meal.
