Dave's Hot Chicken is a straightforward concept -- chicken tenders served at varying heat levels, paired with fries. The staff was friendly, service was fast, and the restaurant was clean and well-kept. They're also open until midnight, which is a great bonus. The loaded fries were a simple combo of fries topped with a few buffalo chicken bites over a scoop of mac and cheese -- decent, but not quite the loaded experience you might expect. The hot tenders delivered on the heat, though the spice came across more as a dry rub on the fried chicken rather than a saucy coating, which may catch some spicy chicken fans off guard. Overall a solid spot, especially for a late night bite.

Tonight I tried the newly opened Dave's Hot Chicken. Which opened in the space Tijuana Flats previously occupied on Victory Drive. I thought the Chicken was hot and fresh and the experience was pretty Cluckin' good. If you are new to Dave's as I was let me give you the low down. They only serve Chicken tenders, chicken tender sliders, Mac n' Cheese, Fries, and milkshakes. The Tenders come in a variety of spice levels from plain all the way up to reaper. I tried the medium and hot spice levels. I found the medium to be tasty and not too hot at all. The hot level is where I think things begin to heat up with a spice level that will coat your mouth and have you breathing fire. I can't imagine how spicy the reaper level to be but if you are daring...take the challenge. The lines is not as bad as one might assume and all members of my party moved through pretty fast. They had plenty of outdoor and indoor seating available. The tables were clean but I can't say the same for the windows and bathroom. Overall, they give you a lot of good freshly cooked food with a nice spice level. I would have given five stars if the cashier would have explained the menu better and expedited the process more. Good place to check out but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

Absolutely the best, most reliable fast food in Savannah... With amazing and friendly staff. I've been coming here a few times a month and am probably known as the "extra pickles" guy. I ordered a hot slider today and I think they pranked me (I'd asked about the reaper seasoning before)... It was HOT... And the one bite I took was very tasty, but holy moly. They had a replacement sammich ready for me with extra pickles and a smile. Food is excellent, service is spectacular. The gal I interacted with tonight even offered a shake to cool me down while I was standing there sweating. Very different than any other fast food place in Savannah. An hour in I'm still sweating, but it was awesome!!

First time at a Dave's Hot Chicken back in June... the chicken "sliders" are not small as the name might suggest and one slider with fries is enough to feel content. They also have a good signature sauce and adding honey to your tender or sandwich gives way to a new flavor dimension. I will say that I was surprised the sandwich itself seemed to be dry rubbed and heavy on the paprika-- it's good, but a different experience than what I'm used to with fried chicken sandwiches. Anything below medium doesn't have enough flavor. The pickles are a game changer and they always provide extra!

Nothing special about this. Just that your meal comes with. No drink lobby is empty. Fries are made has a distinct smell walking into the building.

The food was really good and I enjoyed myself so much, my step-daughter told me about this restaurant and she wasn't wrong. Excellent food. The service was quick, food hot, employees friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is nice, good music playing, good outdoor seating. Good family friendly atmosphere. If on victory drive near the Truman Parkway definitely stop in and grab a bite.

I checked out the new location during a late night of needing to find something good to eat and it did not disappoint. I arrived around 11pm and the parking lot was heavy with traffic but the line only had about 15 people ahead of me. Between ordering and waiting to order it was about 30 minutes in and out. Unfortunately, due to it being late the shakes and slushies were not available. But the slider meal that I tried was DELICIOUS! The chicken was crispy, flavorful and moist. The cole slaw and sauce just made it better. I did also add some honey and it top it off. Fries were also crispy, fresh and delicious.

Don't tell my mother but this was the BEST chicken I have EVER had!!!! I ended up getting the spicy chicken tenders with fries. Boy it had a KICK! I couldn't stop eating even though my mouth was on fire! If you can come here the. You definitely should! We came at 8:00 not thinking it would be this packed. By 9:00 they had a line out the door!

Once I arrived the atmosphere was good a lot of people but most had their order so not too bad.The order line moved quickly which was great, BUT while waiting on my food several orders after me received their food , I waited after placing my order for a full 20 minutes, fries were cold , chicken was room temperature. The Kale salad was absolutely delicious. I'm not so sure I'll go back anytime soon. I thought the price was $$,But overall okay 6-10. I guess

And it was the chicken was cooked to order, came out super hot, and was both crispy and juicy. The greens were super flavorful and needed no added spices. I'm not a big cornbread guy but took a couple bites anyway. The jalapeños weren't over powering and offset the sweetness a little. My server was amazing!!! She greeted me as soon as I walked with lively smile and great attitude. At first I was confused if it was fast casual or full service as they takeout section is in the center of the restaurant. She explained that you can do both, so opted to stay for lunch. I wish I could recall name, because she is worth requesting.

Looking back, we probably should've kept right on walking. We ordered the fried chicken, potato wedges, red rice, New Orleans rice, and cabbage, jalapeno cornbread and pecan cornbread. Unfortunately, the only things we actually enjoyed were the fried chicken and the potato wedges. Once again, it was an epic fail. The cabbage tasted like it had been boiled in plain water with absolutely no seasoning. Both the red rice and the New Orleans rice reminded us of Minute Rice or Uncle Ben's microwavable rice--bland, lacking flavor, and nothing like the rich, seasoned rice dishes we were expecting. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned, and the potato wedges were cooked perfectly, but those two items weren't enough to save the meal. We came hoping for authentic Southern comfort food, but left disappointed. Sadly, this is one restaurant we won't be adding to our list of places to revisit.

Erica Davis Lowcountry sits on Victory Drive in Thunderbolt -- a town so small it has exactly one square mile of land and a name borrowed from a lightning strike that supposedly split open a freshwater spring on the Wilmington River bluff. The restaurant itself has a similar origin story: a long-shuttered seafood spot called Teeple's, left empty for years, brought back to life by Erica and Dwight Davis with real care. The gaslight sconces out front stayed. So did the bones of the building. The garage doors open when the weather cooperates. We came in late on a Friday, catching the final stretch of their brunch service. Hannah (I believe) was our server -- in training, which you wouldn't have guessed. She steered us well and managed the table (and the room) with a confidence that didn't feel performed. We started with the Barbecue Shrimp and the Oysters Rockefeller. The barbecue shrimp -- Georgia shrimp in a spiced, rich sauce served with toasts -- was good but the one I'd skip on a return visit. The Oysters Rockefeller are the opposite story: roasted, finished with creamed collards and parmesan, and genuinely one of the better bites I've had in recent memory. Order them. My husband had the Wassaw Redfish -- pan-seared over stone-ground grits with garlic beurre blanc and heirloom tomato. Clean, confident cooking. I had the Sunday fried chicken, which delivered exactly what that dish promises when it's done right. Sides of fresh green beans, South Georgia collards, and Erica's Famous Coleslaw held their own across the board. Dessert was the Key Lime Pie, served in a cup that does not prepare you for how good it is. Tart and creamy in the right proportion. We didn't leave any behind. The family's seafood history in Savannah goes back to 1946. You can feel that kind of depth in a kitchen -- not in any one dramatic bite, but in the steadiness of it all.

The…read morerestaurant has a nice atmosphere, and the staff was friendly, although our food took a bit longer than expected to arrive. I ordered the Lowcountry Boil, which comes with shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage. The sausage and potatoes were good, and the seasoning was decent, but I was underwhelmed overall, especially considering the price. The shrimp didn't seem particularly fresh and had some white spots and discoloration that gave me the impression they may have been frozen for quite a while. As a result, the dish didn't quite live up to the hype for me. My wife ordered the Wassaw Redfish, which was recommended by our server, and that ended up being the standout dish of the meal. The redfish was cooked well, the garlic beurre blanc sauce was rich without being overwhelming, and the grits were creamy and flavorful. The shrimp and green beans complemented the dish nicely. Overall, the experience was mixed. The atmosphere was pleasant, and my wife's entrée was very good, but the Lowcountry Boil fell short of expectations. I'd consider coming back to try some of their other menu items, but based on this visit, I wouldn't order the boil again.
