Every time I'm anywhere close, I make it a point to stop, and this trip was no different. I was driving back home to North Carolina and had to make one last stop because it's just that good. The food is always fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The sandwich was perfectly toasted with fresh ingredients, plenty of parmesan, and an amazing sauce, and the fries were cooked perfectly. Everything tasted just as good as I remembered. Service was a 10/10 and wonderful seating options MUST GO!!!

Even after the 2021 rebrand, it still held on for a while, but something in the last 5 years at the main office has completely lost touch. They expanded to three locations: ; downtown, Tybee, and Hilton Head, and in the process the whole identity fell apart. The menu has been gutted of its originality. The "OG" items are now overpriced, portion sizes have been cut in half, and the original sides that made it special are gone. What used to be a simple, order-and-sit-down experience is now chaotic. You're herded in by an overstaffed but somehow still disorganized team of high-turnover employees with zero consistency and very little emotional intelligence. There are always way too many staff for the number of customers, yet service somehow keeps getting worse. Last night was the final straw. We tried the Tybee location first, waited 30 minutes just to be seated, only to be told they were basically out of everything and could only do drinks. So we drove to downtown. Same exact thing. Out of sausage. When we asked if we could just remove it or substitute it, we didn't get a simple no, we got an "absolutely not," because apparently everything is pre-mixed and nothing can be adjusted. Even worse once we sat down. It took 15 minutes just to be asked for drink orders. A different server came over, introduced himself like we were starting fresh, and then got visibly annoyed when we said we'd already ordered water and a soda. From there it just kept getting more awkward. At one point he bumped my cup while I was literally lifting it to my lips and told me to "watch out" while he was placing food down. He took forever to check us out and finally bring our soda to go, and ended the night by saying, "just so you know I'm faster than the other girl," like we were in the middle of some weird staff competition we didn't sign up for. On the outside it still looks like a fun Savannah staple. But once you sit down, you realize you're no longer a local guest, you're trapped in an overhyped tourist operation that's completely lost what made it good in the first place.

All three tomatoes on the sandwich were the back end f the tomato, something that should have been discarded. I feel like the woman who made my sandwich did this because of the color of my skin thinking I don't deserve anything better. These are the subtle ways that people discriminate against people.

What was there was good and to be honest I have cut back so it was fine with me but it is a lot different than a few years ago. But I do say I love the French fries - they are always crispy and not greasy. The only problem this time was they used way too much salt, and I do like them salty so that was unfortunate but we ate them anyway! The service was good and the tables were clean. It was simple food but done the right way, which is exactly what I was hoping for. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable with a relaxed, easy going atmosphere. Even though it was a busy time, the service stayed friendly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. But this Jersey Mike's Location really needs to reevaluate It's current employee roster. And starting with the Young gentleman who was the primary person making sandwiches the day I visited, they need to give this kid the pink slip or find a new way to motivate him because he was clearly not happy about being at work and seemingly took it out on the customers via excruciating, slow and sloppy customer service. There was some good banter with customers which made the space feel really comfortable. For example, I mentioned they kept it cold, and customer behind agreed 1000%, and the staffer made light hearted comment "We sweatin back here in the kitchen". I love me some good bread. The worst part was the taste of the sub. This has nothing to do with local store employees, as they are making sandwiches per restaurant chain recipe. The chipotle mayo in my CHIPOTLE BEEF CHEESESTEAK was gross. It didn't even look appetizing (see picture). It was so bad that I questioned if I would finish it, but had missed lunch and was eating a late dinner so I was super hungry and didn't want to find something else to eat. On the way out, the friendly staff asked how I liked the sandwich and I said I would not order again. One piped up and replied, "yeah, i don't like that chipotle mayo either" and recommended the cheeseteak without the mayo. Again, kudos for the staff for being friendly and honest, but I am not liking the chain.
