Must try: Lobster Roll!…read more Why: Loved the butter toasted brioche bun loaded with Lobster! Bun has slightly crispy exterior and was buttery goodness. Fried and coleslaw were also really good. Tons of fries that were also slightly crispy - just how I like it. I ate outside since the weather was nice and enjoyed my meal while people watching. Notes: The workers were friendly and helpful. They have indoor table seating as well as oyster bar area. Many tables outside of market too. This was my first meal during my visit to Milwaukee and what a delicious way to start!

St. Paul Fish Market is located inside the very busy and popular Milwaukee Public Market indoor shopping complex downtown. It reminds me of the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. The only parking option that I am aware of is metered street parking. The building has 2 levels but the 1st floor is where most of the business are. It appeared to me that St. Paul's is the most popular business there. It is a seafood restaurant and fresh fish market. They have a small sit down area for table service dining or you can order your food to go at the counter. After being seated and reviewing the menu I decided to order the same meal I had over 11 years ago. I went with a bowl of clam chowder for $8 to start and then added a fried grouper sandwich ($16) with french fries for another $2.50. The chowder was perfect. Flavorful, delicious and I wanted more (5). The sandwich also was delicious and satisfying made with quality fish, lettuce, tomato, and bread. However while it tasted very good halfway through eating it the bread bun started to disintegrate and then quickly turned to mush before I could finish. Then I needed a fork to finish it. It got messy and I don't like that in a sandwich. It's only for that reason I give an overall 4 score instead of a 5. The french fries were very good tasting too but I had ordered too much food and only had room for a few of them. The table service was very warm and friendly. I believe St. Paul's is a very good choice for a casual seafood meal but please buy more sturdy buns!

Stopped in for takeout. Ambience was cools and laid back at night, there was some soft jazz playing. Order 2 jerk salmon burgers and some wings with the "crab it your way" sauce. Flavor was on point for both. Wings were delicious and super crispy, just like I ordered. The burgers, although they were good, they were small for $18. Fries were decent, but a bit on the greasy side. Took 2 stars off because we waited 45 minutes for our food, when we were told 20 minutes, the burgers were small for the price and they charge an automatic 18% gratuity even for carry out ( I don't mind dine in). Also the girl at the front didn't seem too knowledgeable about the menu. Although I'm not a big fan of The Q, I would definitely go back for Crab It Your Way. I already know their seafood boils are bomb.

My date had requested during the reservation to be seated by a window but they had us seated at a rounder and bigger table that felt a little goofy for two people to be seated in. But we asked our server, Aracely, if we would be able to move to the window seating and they helped arrange that for us. We decided to order the Crispy Fried Berkshire Pork Belly as our starter and the Grilled Whole Mediterranean Branzino and the Seafood Pappardelle as our main entrees. For drinks, we decided to get the cranberry kiss. Surprisingly, both of our dishes were pretty filling! The seafood Pappardelle, had lobster, scallops, shrimp, and octopus. It was on the heavier side, but the noodles that they paired with it, was absolutely amazing. The Branzino was nicely grilled, but wasn't dry on the inside. I was indifferent with the chimichurri sauce that was paired with it but the smashed potatoes and grilled asparagus was delicious. Overall, very delicious entrees.

The interior was very cozy and cute. They have a "larger" seating area next to a smaller nook-like room by the bar. The bar area, had shelves of tin fish, wine, cookbooks, and sauces that you could buy. I only got their oyster shooter and the oysters. I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't a fan of the oyster shooter but mostly because I'm not the biggest fan of bloody Mary's. The combo was very interesting to say the least. The oyster that came with the shooter was pretty big but a little grainy. The yappy hour oysters were perfect and fresh. They came with three different sauces and lemons (I think a pickled onion, a green sauce, and a red one.) Just as fast as it came out, they were gone! The food, ambiance, and service was great. Definitely will come again!

For only $6, they serve a full sized portion which is one of the best values on the menu and an absolute steal for the quality you receive. The burger comes with caramelized onions, American cheese, crispy onions, au poivre sauce, garlic-herb aioli on a sesame milk bun (Note: one order per guest). From the happy hour menu, I also ordered the Halibut Fish Fry and the Shrimp Cocktail. The Shrimp Cocktail had a sweet and chili cocktail vinaigrette, which I really enjoyed. From the dinner menu, I had the Kale Cashew Caesar, Lobster Pot Pie, and the Ora King Salmon. To my surprise, the star of the show was the Kale Cashew Caesar, which staff recommended. What made this dish so special was the generous mound of shaved Gran Moravia piled on top, complemented by lemon breadcrumbs. The combination and texture was so fun to eat. The Lobster Pot Pie is offered at market price ($55 when I went). They give you generous chunks of butter-poached lobster tails, seasonal vegetables, lobster cream in their truffle puff pastry. The Ora King Salmon was also delicious. Salmon was cooked perfectly--light and moist. I enjoyed the black garlic gnocchi and the apple gastrique that came with this dish. I've never had lobster and to be fair shellfish is not really my jam. While the lobster mac n cheese and lobster tacos sounded absolutely incredible, I wanted to get a real lobster experience that wouldn't be impacted by other yummy ingredients like cheese (cuz who doesn't love cheese in Wisconsin?). I ordered the Connecticut roll because cold fish was just a bit too much for me. This thing tasted like BUTTER - and quite frankly, I think it's supposed to. I don't dislike butter, it is just quite a heavy accompaniment. Overall, I don't think I love lobster and I don't think I'd order it again... but I still ate the whole thing and was quite full afterwards. I was initially bit surprised at the $25 price tag for my not huge (albeit filling) sandwich, but lobster is an expensive commodity. I actually did some Internet searches for Madison and Milwaukee that had lobster rolls on their menu. First, there aren't many of them so consider this a special treat regardless. Second, the cheapest I could find was a $24 lobster roll and it went up from there. So, reasonably priced for what you're getting. This was a great, low-stress and "not weird" introduction to venture into lobster eating. It's not for me, but it seemed unfair to give 3 stars for not loving a food I don't overall like in the first place. The staff on scene were friendly and I had a good time, so 4 stars it is. If you actually like lobster, definitely look up their schedule and find them at a location near you. The parking lot was packed so obviously this is very popular which tends to mean pretty well liked, too. Come find out for yourself.

It was one of the most special dining experiences we've ever had in Milwaukee. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we entered the home of an Argentinian chef. In fact, you pretty much having Chef Ana as your own personal chef, with her husband Peter also providing some exceptional hospitality. She came up to our table multiple times during the evening to chat with us and ask us how our meal was. It's pretty amazing that she is the sole chef in the restaurant and is able to prepare all the meals while also checking in with patrons regularly. The food was really good. They have two prefix options, and we went with the paella, with an appetizer, dessert and bottle of rosé. Each course felt thoughtfully curated, beautifully presented, and bursting with authentic flavor. The warm staff and intimacy is something unique and different than anything else we've experienced. It's rare to find a place where you can experience both world-class cuisine and the personal touch of the people behind it. FYI, there is a price to be paid for such wonderful food and service. But for a special occasion, it's well worth the money spent and would be right up near the top of my list. The only reservation we could get was 4:30PM but we were excited we were able to get in at any time. Because of the timing, the sun was setting over the water, which was really pretty to see. I got a little confused with where to enter the building and I guess I went in the wrong way because I walked down the dock and entered the back of the restaurant by the restrooms, lol. Barnacle Bud's had a cool decor vibe and moody lighting. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and you could tell she was very excited about the menu and the pop-up experience. She provided exceptional customer service- she went over the menu thoroughly, came back to check on us multiple times, and always refilled our water, which I always appreciate! To start, we ordered wine and the relish tray. Everything on the relish tray was a little too vinegary for me but most of the table enjoyed it. However, the four of us didn't finish it. It was pretty powerful with vinegar flavor. For an entree, I had the salmon with veggies and my friends ordered the lamb chops, carbonara, and a vegetarian friend ordered a plate of Bud's potatoes and veggies. The food was good but I thought mine was very salty. And I'm glad I ordered my sauce on the side. For dessert, the four of us shared the mousse, which had good flavor and texture. Also to note, there were up-charges for veggies, sauce was $3 extra, etc., so just pay attention to pricing if that's a concern for you. Overall, it was a unique experience and worth checking out.
