Some of the best fish and chips I've had. I discovered this place thanks to my awesome coworker who showed me how to get here. The lady at the front is so sweet! She was so patient with me when I couldn't decide what to order. My fish was cooked to perfection. I loved that they had cooked my fries well done as well. The biggest plus for me was they have ranch! And lots of it. They're not stingy about giving sauces. The wait took a bit. I would advise calling it in if you're going on your lunch so you can pick it up and enjoy it quickly. There are seats around the area and out on the patio. Beautiful place to have lunch on a nice sunny day! I almost walked right past this place because it is a bit run down and needs a serious facelift. All and all, I can't complain because the food is awesome! I miss being so close here because I was definitely a regular!

The grilled salmon. It will definitely disappoint you.

Oofff. Saw the sign for $12 grilled salmon and naively thought, "Hmm that's actually not bad for hotel food!" Note to self: hotel food court quality is not necessarily better than mall food court quality. The place itself had a bit of a depressed, given-up-on-life vibe about it. And despite the promising-sounding menu choices, the food was not much better. I've had and cooked enjoyable pre-frozen salmon before, don't get me wrong. But this was the ultimate pink cardboard slab of sad. Dry, unflaky, "squished" texture, as if someone had sat on it for a long time. Barren of even basic seasoning. Some pepper/salt packets and lemon helped, but only marginally. It does come on a bed of rice and alongside a plain salad and a coleslaw. There is a lot of food...just not a lot of joy in eating any of it. But if you're looking for some Grilled Nihilism, guess you've come to the right place.

Eh, this is a tough one to rate. First the good- when looking for a heathy dinner of grilled fish and veggies, you can't go wrong with the price. Taste is good and portions are huge. But the service is crap. I often wait over 15-20 min (this is not a sit down restaurant, it's fast food/food court style). Sometimes there is no one at counter and you have to yell back in the kitchen. English speaking skills are limited. And they say it's cash only. But if you don't have cash, they'll take your card to another one of the food court shops and run it on the CC machine there. A little sketchy. But alas, when you practically live at the Westin, you suck it up and go with whatever healthy options you can find.

I've been here a couple times and usually, it's good fried seafood, but this last time was just - eh. Maybe my tastes have changed from the last time, but I haven't noticed. I was pretty damn hungry for lunch so I decided to go for the fish, shrimp and scallop and chips combo. What I didn't realize was that when you order this, they batter all the seafood the same, WTF!! I wanted the beer batter fish at least!! All the seafood was tasting the same. I think some fish sticks would have been better than what I had. The shrimps were ok and the cole slaw was good, but if there's a next time, I'm doing just fish and chips so that I get the beer batter.

I ordered through RITUAL. The food was decent! A lot of rice and a good portion of salmon.

Came here for lunch, got the teriyaki chicken combo. It came with claim chowder, salad, coleslaw, and a drink. The chowder was good. The chicken was completely smothered with teriyaki sauce. If you love it then this place is for you but it was really salty and I could not finish it. I'm willing to try it again but definitely not the teriyaki chicken. Located inside the Bonaventure Westin Hotel.

    - Broken Compass Tiki…read more My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Broken Compass Tiki. I originally found it on TikTok, followed up with a few YouTube videos, and knew I had to check it out the next time we were in Burbank. It completely lived up to the hype. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in Burbank, but we got lucky and found a street parking spot nearby. If you don't get as lucky, driving around the block or into the surrounding neighborhood should eventually turn something up. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened, and there were already several people inside. By the time we left, the place was filling up quickly, so it's definitely a popular spot. I surprised my girlfriend by keeping the destination a secret and just telling her we were going somewhere fun with a unique theme. She loved it. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Both the bartender and our server were incredibly welcoming. Our server asked whether it was our first visit and took the time to ask what kinds of drinks we normally enjoy before making recommendations. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to upsell us. Instead, he explained why he thought certain cocktails were better choices based on our preferences, and every recommendation ended up being spot on. As you'd expect from a tiki bar, the cocktail menu is heavily rum-focused, but there are also non-alcoholic drinks, a small beer selection, and wine available if rum isn't your thing. I ordered the Zombie Magic first, which was delicious and definitely packed a punch. After that, I tried the 100 Year Cigar, a Scotch-based cocktail that was perfect for slowly sipping. Both drinks were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Painkiller and the Navy Grog, and she loved both of them. We started with the Shut It Polly wings, crispy chicken wings tossed in a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and they were outstanding. We also ordered the Aloha Dippers with the Cajun seasoning. I paired mine with the Chipotle Citrus Aioli, while my girlfriend chose the Firecracker sauce. Both dipping sauces were excellent and complemented the fries really well. For our entrées, I ordered the Pub Burger with Irish cheddar, onion strings, and horseradish aioli, cooked to order. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Roll, and we both enjoyed it. The only item that didn't quite meet our expectations was the macaroni salad that came with our meals. We've had some incredible macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants, and this one just didn't quite compare. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one part of the meal that didn't stand out. One thing that really impressed me was how accommodating the staff was regarding my raw fruit allergy. I explained what I could and couldn't safely eat or drink, and our server took it seriously. He made sure every cocktail recommendation was safe for me without sacrificing flavor or experience. That level of attention made me feel comfortable ordering drinks I otherwise might have avoided. The décor is also worth mentioning. The pirate-themed exterior transitions into a fun pirate-and-tiki atmosphere inside that really adds to the experience without feeling overdone. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. The drinks were strong and creative, the food was excellent, the service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was a blast. There are still plenty of cocktails on the menu that I'd like to try, so we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Burbank.

This place really made you feel like Captain Jack Sparrow was going to jump out at every corner. It so themed for a tiki bar, but if pirates and mermaids had a place to hang out this would be that place. From the decor to the detailed bathroom sounds and the menu item names. You couldn't escape the theme anyway and I loved it! We were gathering for a friends birthday and there was 30 of us. Couldn't believe we found enough seats for us in the back area but we did. The staff was there to keep drinks flowing and keep food coming. The portion for their poke nachos was unreal. Do i wish they put a bit more poke on the dish? Yes. But it was still one of my favorite dishes of the night. The drinks were all so cute and they had ample non alcoholic mocktails as well which were yummy. If you want a speakeasy feel (you lieterally go through a secret door in the wall) and an under the sea eperience while ctching up with friends, you can totally do it here. For my friends birthday they rang some bell and all sang happy birthday to her which was so cool. Why was the bathroom the coolest part? They literally have ocean sounds and seaguls for you to hear while using the restroom. Theres even a fan in the bathroom to make you feel like you're next to the ocean because I kept fighting that darn toilet seat cover to stay put. Such a fun night and will be back for the vibes. Special s/o to Amanda and all her crew the night we were there. They helped out with photos, drinks, and keeping food going all night. She had such a great team with her that night. Everyone was helping us out even finding us chairs and clearing tables so we could make room for more food.

It said it comes with 5 scallops, but we each got at least 8 or 9. They were small, but tasty. The fish though, a little disappointed. It was "watery" and the batter had absolutely no salt/seasoning on it. Same with the fries. No salt at all. My Mom liked it better than I did, but even she complained that it needed salt. When I arrived, there was only one person and one couple dining, but the place quickly filled up. Luckily, I managed to get a table. The friendly staff brought my food, along with five sauces: chili oil, hot sauce, ketchup, vinegar, and tartar sauce. They also provided packets of salt, fitting for the restaurant's name. The food was served piping hot, so be careful! It's fried in a tempura-style batter, which is quite heavy. I found the shrimp to have a small meat-to-batter ratio, but the fish was the star. However, the food itself was unfortunately "mid." While the pieces were large and the crinkle-cut fries were good, the fish and shrimp lacked any real seasoning or distinct flavor--it essentially tasted like "anything fried." It's a great spot for a fast, filling meal, but it didn't quite capture that nostalgic flavor I was chasing.
