Very underrated place in my very humble opinion. They have a little bit of everything and normally I don't like going to places like this because when you don't specialize in one thing everything kinda seems to be off but it hasn't been the case for this spot. This is Mexican food done right. They have burritos, tacos, sopes, stews, even breakfasts. The people here taking your order are always super nice and friendly. Make sure to bring cash as they are a cash only location.

I love it here ! It's been hard finding a GOOD Lucy's since the one on Imperial has closed and THIS location NEVER LETS ME DOWN Everything is ALWAYS fresh and out FAST Not to mention the great customer service every time from the drive through to walking in I forgot it was cash only and he held my order while I used the ATM and let me hop back in line with no worries lol

This is what they call carne asada nachos. YUCK!

Service was nice but omg the asada nachos are the worst I've ever had. The meat bounced back when I but it. The meat wasn't seasoned. Look at the picture! It didn't look or taste appealing and I'm so disappointed. I will never come back here. They're cash only and I see why. Robbing me of $15 for this crap

We checked out Lucy's after a concert at the Crypto Arena. There was no wait in the drive-through around 11pm on a Friday night. The employee who took our order was friendly and efficient. I'm not a meat eater, so I ordered fries with pico de gallo, melted cheese, and sour cream. This is an order I place often at other restaurants. The melted cheese was delicious and the sour cream was fine. However, there wasn't quite enough pico de gallo, which would have added the witness that was needed. Unfortunately, because there wasn't enough of the toppings, the fries were extremely dry and tasteless. I should have asked for extra toppings, and then I could give possibly give a five star. However, I would try the restaurant again, just ordering something else. On a separate note, the Horchata was some of the best I've ever had!

I thoroughly appreciate the fact that this place has a drive-thru option and is open 24-hours a day. I had just gotten off work at around 10PM and was hankering for an inexpensive but hearty bite. I was also in one of those "let's eat a full meal in my car" moods so this place was really checking all of my metaphoric boxes. The gentleman working the drive-thru window was awesome! Super sweet and personable. I'd honestly be willing to come back here solely in support of him. It took me at least ten minutes to decide what to order because the number of options listed on the menu was overwhelming in the best way possible: it really triggered my "big and greedy" instincts. Am I happy with what I settled on? Somewhat. The tacos and the beans were pretty good, with my enjoyment of the latter especially surprising me because I usually am not the biggest fan of beans. The rice, however, was quite dry and devoid of flavor. If I was any less hungry than I was at that time I probably would've not enjoyed my food that much, I can't lie.

Order the cheeseburger combo. The burger comes with mayo and mustard. Thin patty with very little lettuce and one pickle. Meh taste at best. Fries are not cooked fully. Small portion. No seasoning. My drink was a coke. Nothing but sugar water. No fuzz! Outdoor seating. Limited indoor seating. On the corner of Union and Pico. This place actually deserves 1/2 star. Will not be visiting this place again. Dirty. I seen flies in the inside the kitchen.

What can I say about Lucy's ! Well known , locally respected and open on the late night ! They have a huge menu with something for everyone. Today I'm giving four stars for 2 items that keep me coming back ! Those 2 items are Hardshell Chicken tacos and fresh Orange and Carrot juice ! Cash Only and they also accept phone orders . Drive thru and walk up available all night .

    Fish and Chips

As they say "I'm always driving by this place and finally decided to stop and try them out ". First of all it was around 4pm and it wasn't busy at all, so I ordered the Fish and Chips. It didn't take long to get my order and I took it to go. Once I drove off, I noticed a "burnt oil" smell - not good! I got the food home and saw that the breading was very, very crunchy (hard), the fish was nice, fries okay, onion rings had the same breading as the fish and the small lettuce with ranch dressing was warm because of the fish - not good. So, overall the fish and chips wasn't to my liking. It seemed like they must fry "everything" in the same oil - hence the smell of burnt oil - bad! But I guess I'll try something else, they have quite an extensive menu, something's got to be good, right!? It seems to always be busy.

OK, so I'm working the Pico-union area of Los Angeles, and it's not the best area that the city has to offer, but I'm good, I always make the best of any situation. So I'm getting hungry, and the only reason why I picked this place is that they have their own parking lot, (fairly large) and there are spaces available. Looks like your typical greasy spoon, hambuger/taco establishment, but again, great to have a parking lot, as street parking is at a premium for this area. Outdoor seating located to the front, inside seating available on the right side. Looks fairly clean. Drive thru also available. Walking up to the front walk up windows, I can see photos of some of they're offerings, posted around the front of the ordering area, you can see inside, the menu with a very large selection of items to choose from. Hot dogs to burritos, fried chicken to soups. So a nice variety of items to choose from. I ordered the machaca & egg burrito. (shredded beef) and it was pretty good, little small in size but tasty. Came with a small bag of chips & salsa, which was a big plus. Staffers was good, friendly and helpful. Overall a pretty decent place to eat. Will probably make this my go to spot, (because of the parking lot) when working this area. So 3 stars, everything is A-OK.

If I could give this place negative 5 I would!!! And Drove over 1.5 hours to a pop up near Lucy Drive in, we were hot and hungry. We went to dine inside, nice and cool! Too bad the staff was extremely rude from the beginning! Got our food and everything was gross!! I ordered a pork tamale, no meat inside and masa was sweet tasted old! My son ordered a chorizo burrito taste spoiled, my son was so hungry and tried to eat it. But I tasted it and it was not good at all (who messes up a chorizo and egg burrito?) my husband shrimp cocktail and 2 carnita tacos and he said everything was good. The drinks had very little Ice so our drinks were not very refreshing. This was a waste of $54.36!! If driving through LA STAY away from this place!!!

    Bacon Breakfast for $9.03!!!!!!! Disgusting

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF!!!; i am done!!! I will not visit this establishment again! They charged me $ 9.03 for a Bacon Breakfast! And this is what's inside!!!! Speechless and outdone. It was horrible i was starving....i tried the one on Pico and La Brea and ordered their Breakfast Burrito i got home it was carne Asada with a pint of jalapeños and hot sauce on it!!!! I couldn't drive back over there i was exhausted so that was another $12 down the drain! And they are rude on top of getting orders mixed up! #DonewithLucys!!!!

Price on a blt and onion rings 19.70 not worth it. I recommend just keep heading west on pico and stop at Dinos instead.

I picked chorizo as my protein option. I also, of course, had to also add the smoky grilled poblano chile for $1.25. It was SO good and FLAVORFUL - it didn't even need the salsas. Although, I will note that both the salsas were lovely. The flour tortilla was clearly freshly made. Also, it was a massive portion. I don't know what I was expecting. If this is the size of their caramelo, I don't want to know how giant the burrito is. I also had to get the cucumber agua fresca to pair with my caramelo. It was perfectly sweetened and wonderfully refreshing. I'll have to make my way back here now to try the burrito 2.0 and chivichanga.

Cute building with lovely patio seating: from the trailing hanging pothos plants, Spanish tiles, to relaxing latin-house music the vibes were welcoming. I'm not much of a drinker though, when asked if I wanted to make my pina colada a "float" I thought incorrectly about ice cream. It was graciously explained that you take an additional shot of rum and float it on top of the drink or mix in to make it extra boozy. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Tasted like if a watermelon aqua Fresca was combined with a margarita, there is a hint of salt that brings out the fruit sweetness. We special ordered a bunch of different proteins and vegetables at half portions to make a feast: Aguachile- Light refreshing starter, kanpachi perfectly marinated and great for the summer heat. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Fried chicken tacos- Found the chicken slightly on the dry side, if there was a creamy/thicker sauce would be even better... nothing wrong with flavor, good mild heat. I did enjoy the fresh shredded cabbage and carrots, reminded me of bahn mi. Empanadas- Loved the acidity of the sauce that cut through the fattiness of the ground meat. Light shell. Crispy Squash flower- Delicate crunch, like an angelic version of a jalapeno popper. Lamb chops- Definition of "treat-yourself" luxurious meat lollipops. Celery salad- Simple dish but the lemon flavor and tartness really helped break up the richness of other dishes. Churros- Light crunch and small, petite dessert. The thin caramel sauce is addicting. Fine dining, for those special occasions or if you just want to splurge for a morale boost highly recommend this restaurant. The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

One detail we really appreciated was being able to choose between white meat or dark meat--a thoughtful touch that lets you customize your meal to your preference. The mole was rich, complex, and full of flavor, exactly what you would hope for from a restaurant known for its Oaxacan specialties. As a welcome appetizer, they bring fresh chips and salsa to the table, but what really impressed us was when they replaced the salsa with their incredible mole sauce. It was so good we found ourselves dipping everything into it. Both meals were served with rice that was perfectly cooked with a great consistency and flavor. One of the reasons I recommended Mirate is because it's known for being a highly rated modern Mexican restaurant with exceptional service and knowledgeable staff, especially when it comes to tequila and mezcal. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at all. Before ordering food, I asked our server about the differences between the mezcals and which flight they would recommend. The only explanation I received was, "It's just different families, so I'd go with the higher quality one." There was no real information or guidance, and it was obvious they didn't know much about the mezcal selection. I ended up choosing one based solely on what sounded best. We were then informed that the menu had recently changed and is now mostly tapas. That's perfectly fine, but I noticed several items from my previous visit were still available, so I figured I'd order a few favorites along with some new dishes. Most of the food was actually great. The ribeye tacos, tostada, and buñuelitos were all delicious. However, the carne asada was extremely disappointing. We only sent back one plate because I felt bad sending both, and that's when a manager (the gentleman with the man bun) came over. He explained that they have a new chef from Oaxaca, but what confused me was that they were serving Argentinian-style steaks as their carne asada. Instead of a traditional Mexican-style cut, it was thin, flat, and honestly looked like a breakfast steak. For a restaurant that prides itself on being a modern Mexican restaurant, serving Argentinian steak as carne asada just didn't make sense to me. To his credit, he removed both carne asada plates from our bill, which I genuinely appreciated. After that, he asked if there was anything else we'd like. I personally said no, but someone else at the table asked for one more ribeye taco. The manager replied, "You know what? I'll bring you one, and I'll bring them another too." Naturally, I assumed he was offering the extra taco as a goodwill gesture since I hadn't ordered anything else. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the bill and realized both tacos had been added to our tab. I wasn't going to argue over the price of a taco, but it was frustrating because I never asked for it. In fact, I ended up giving that taco away to my friends. If it wasn't complimentary, it shouldn't have been presented as if it were. Another thing worth mentioning is that while the carne asada portion has clearly gotten much smaller, the price remains exactly the same, which doesn't seem justified. Overall, my biggest disappointment is that there was no indication when making the reservation that this was essentially an experimental period with a new chef introducing major menu changes. Had I known beforehand, I never would have recommended Mirate for our dinner, and to be completely honest, I probably wouldn't have made a reservation at all. I only get two days off each month, so this was supposed to be something I could really enjoy. Instead, it honestly felt like a waste of my time and money. I'm sorry to say that while there were a few good moments, they faded very quickly. Unfortunately, the negative parts are what have stayed with me, and that's what I'll remember most about the experience. It's disappointing because I know how great Mirate can be since I experienced it just a few weeks ago. I truly hope they can regain the quality of food, service, and overall experience that made me recommend it in the first place . ( for the picture of the flat carne asada the full steak has 2 more strips added but we had tried it before taking a picture however that's MOST of the "carne asada" portion in the picture )
