Very underrated place in my very humble opinion. They have a little bit of everything and normally I don't like going to places like this because when you don't specialize in one thing everything kinda seems to be off but it hasn't been the case for this spot. This is Mexican food done right. They have burritos, tacos, sopes, stews, even breakfasts. The people here taking your order are always super nice and friendly. Make sure to bring cash as they are a cash only location.

This is what they call carne asada nachos. YUCK!

Service was nice but omg the asada nachos are the worst I've ever had. The meat bounced back when I but it. The meat wasn't seasoned. Look at the picture! It didn't look or taste appealing and I'm so disappointed. I will never come back here. They're cash only and I see why. Robbing me of $15 for this crap

I love it here ! It's been hard finding a GOOD Lucy's since the one on Imperial has closed and THIS location NEVER LETS ME DOWN Everything is ALWAYS fresh and out FAST Not to mention the great customer service every time from the drive through to walking in I forgot it was cash only and he held my order while I used the ATM and let me hop back in line with no worries lol

I thoroughly appreciate the fact that this place has a drive-thru option and is open 24-hours a day. I had just gotten off work at around 10PM and was hankering for an inexpensive but hearty bite. I was also in one of those "let's eat a full meal in my car" moods so this place was really checking all of my metaphoric boxes. The gentleman working the drive-thru window was awesome! Super sweet and personable. I'd honestly be willing to come back here solely in support of him. It took me at least ten minutes to decide what to order because the number of options listed on the menu was overwhelming in the best way possible: it really triggered my "big and greedy" instincts. Am I happy with what I settled on? Somewhat. The tacos and the beans were pretty good, with my enjoyment of the latter especially surprising me because I usually am not the biggest fan of beans. The rice, however, was quite dry and devoid of flavor. If I was any less hungry than I was at that time I probably would've not enjoyed my food that much, I can't lie.

We checked out Lucy's after a concert at the Crypto Arena. There was no wait in the drive-through around 11pm on a Friday night. The employee who took our order was friendly and efficient. I'm not a meat eater, so I ordered fries with pico de gallo, melted cheese, and sour cream. This is an order I place often at other restaurants. The melted cheese was delicious and the sour cream was fine. However, there wasn't quite enough pico de gallo, which would have added the witness that was needed. Unfortunately, because there wasn't enough of the toppings, the fries were extremely dry and tasteless. I should have asked for extra toppings, and then I could give possibly give a five star. However, I would try the restaurant again, just ordering something else. On a separate note, the Horchata was some of the best I've ever had!

Order the cheeseburger combo. The burger comes with mayo and mustard. Thin patty with very little lettuce and one pickle. Meh taste at best. Fries are not cooked fully. Small portion. No seasoning. My drink was a coke. Nothing but sugar water. No fuzz! Outdoor seating. Limited indoor seating. On the corner of Union and Pico. This place actually deserves 1/2 star. Will not be visiting this place again. Dirty. I seen flies in the inside the kitchen.

    Fish and Chips

As they say "I'm always driving by this place and finally decided to stop and try them out ". First of all it was around 4pm and it wasn't busy at all, so I ordered the Fish and Chips. It didn't take long to get my order and I took it to go. Once I drove off, I noticed a "burnt oil" smell - not good! I got the food home and saw that the breading was very, very crunchy (hard), the fish was nice, fries okay, onion rings had the same breading as the fish and the small lettuce with ranch dressing was warm because of the fish - not good. So, overall the fish and chips wasn't to my liking. It seemed like they must fry "everything" in the same oil - hence the smell of burnt oil - bad! But I guess I'll try something else, they have quite an extensive menu, something's got to be good, right!? It seems to always be busy.

What can I say about Lucy's ! Well known , locally respected and open on the late night ! They have a huge menu with something for everyone. Today I'm giving four stars for 2 items that keep me coming back ! Those 2 items are Hardshell Chicken tacos and fresh Orange and Carrot juice ! Cash Only and they also accept phone orders . Drive thru and walk up available all night .

If I could give this place negative 5 I would!!! And Drove over 1.5 hours to a pop up near Lucy Drive in, we were hot and hungry. We went to dine inside, nice and cool! Too bad the staff was extremely rude from the beginning! Got our food and everything was gross!! I ordered a pork tamale, no meat inside and masa was sweet tasted old! My son ordered a chorizo burrito taste spoiled, my son was so hungry and tried to eat it. But I tasted it and it was not good at all (who messes up a chorizo and egg burrito?) my husband shrimp cocktail and 2 carnita tacos and he said everything was good. The drinks had very little Ice so our drinks were not very refreshing. This was a waste of $54.36!! If driving through LA STAY away from this place!!!

OK, so I'm working the Pico-union area of Los Angeles, and it's not the best area that the city has to offer, but I'm good, I always make the best of any situation. So I'm getting hungry, and the only reason why I picked this place is that they have their own parking lot, (fairly large) and there are spaces available. Looks like your typical greasy spoon, hambuger/taco establishment, but again, great to have a parking lot, as street parking is at a premium for this area. Outdoor seating located to the front, inside seating available on the right side. Looks fairly clean. Drive thru also available. Walking up to the front walk up windows, I can see photos of some of they're offerings, posted around the front of the ordering area, you can see inside, the menu with a very large selection of items to choose from. Hot dogs to burritos, fried chicken to soups. So a nice variety of items to choose from. I ordered the machaca & egg burrito. (shredded beef) and it was pretty good, little small in size but tasty. Came with a small bag of chips & salsa, which was a big plus. Staffers was good, friendly and helpful. Overall a pretty decent place to eat. Will probably make this my go to spot, (because of the parking lot) when working this area. So 3 stars, everything is A-OK.

    Bacon Breakfast for $9.03!!!!!!! Disgusting
    Dee G.

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF!!!; i am done!!! I will not visit this establishment again! They charged me $ 9.03 for a Bacon Breakfast! And this is what's inside!!!! Speechless and outdone. It was horrible i was starving....i tried the one on Pico and La Brea and ordered their Breakfast Burrito i got home it was carne Asada with a pint of jalapeños and hot sauce on it!!!! I couldn't drive back over there i was exhausted so that was another $12 down the drain! And they are rude on top of getting orders mixed up! #DonewithLucys!!!!

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

That says a lot. Once upon a time (a few years ago), my CFP + banking institution wanted to thank me for being one of their top private clients. They expressed their gratitude with a very generous, all expense paid full-course meal at Bestia. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement. Fast forward to now, I knew that coming back here would be a good idea. Make no mistake, even if you try to book a reservation several weeks in-advance, don't be surprised if the only available seats are at the counter. Granted, I was in a spacey table during my past visit, the counter can be an enjoyable & unintentionally entertaining space. It's great for a more casual vibe, as you get to see some of the kitchen workers put together some of their signature dishes. In many ways, Bestia seems like a microcosm of the city that it rather humbly resides within. What always catches me off-guard, is that the surrounding simple area really doesn't reflect the happening, vibrant, night-life that resides within the building's walls. You feel like you're taken so a different, very social, very bustling world. WINE: Podere 72, Poderi San Lazzaro (Marche region, central Italy) - 8.7 / 10 A very robust blend of Montepulciano & Sangiovese grapes that results in a balanced, medium bodied red wine that stands-up to heartiness of a beef ribeye steak. FOOD: Roasted Bone Marrow - 9.4/ 10 I have several friends that go here just for this particular dish. Funny enough, one can almost always tell that one is at Bestia because of the rather peculiar manner in which this dish is served. Hot, melted bone marrow is appropriately scooped out of the bone & poured onto spinach gnocchetti. It's like eating beef flavored mouth pillows of potato + spinach. It's definitely a dish that will impress whoever you are with. I can never resist ordering this whenever I am here. Oxtail alla Vaccinara - 8.9 / 10 The deep, rich maroon color of the rigatoni (thanks to beets) is a sight to behold. The pasta is firm but not too hard. It's a humble yet complex pasta dish that complements any main course. 26oz Margaret River Wagyu Ribeye - 9.4 / 10 Anybody who knows me knows that I love my ribeye. Any decent fancy restaurant does a ribeye. But no one does a ribeye quite like Bestia. The fermented mushroom cream delivers a punch of pungence not unlike a delectable dijon mustard, but to the highest of levels. This dish also makes me a believer in well-cooked onions served alongside steak. I usually like to take a home a portion of ribeye for later, but this is one of the very few instances when the steak is so good, that I can't help but finish it here. Again, the portion is more than enough to be shared. Fromage Blanc Mousse - 9.1 / 10 This seasonal dish hits all the right notes. It's the fanciest of cheesecakes, so I recommend sharing this. With its decadence, a little truly goes a long way & that's perfectly fine. The richness of the cheese is offset perfectly by the right balance of candied kumquats. A great "bite" to end on. Huge shout-out & thanks to Radu for being the nicest & most enthusiastic of servers. It's little things like him being so down to take pics of you with your party that really make me want to come back here. It the owners / management is reading this, please recognize how pivotal he is to your team. If he was working under me, I would most definitely give him a raise. Also, shout-out to Dani at the hostess stand. She is one of the most personable people. For being the first person that patrons see upon entering, she is the perfect face, attitude, & welcoming personality that the hospitality industry is in dire need of. She's a rockstar of a hostess & a pleasure to talk with. Bestia is a better place because of valuable employees like Radu & Dani. As always, come for the food. Come back for the service. One friend in our group doesn't drink, and when we asked if her mocktail could be served in a cocktail glass so she could feel included, he simply said no. He also refused to make an espresso martini despite having the ingredients available. To make matters worse, one of our dishes never arrived. When we brought it up, the server responded, "I asked you if it came out and you said yes," instead of apologizing for the mistake. Afterward, he took the bill and appeared to be talking negatively about our table. For a restaurant with such a stellar reputation, I expected much better. Between the tiny portions, average food, and poor service, I won't be back
