I had the seafood combo which included a crabcake that was liquid inside. Likewise, the crab stuffing of the shrimp was liquid, which tasted gross when you're expecting a firm crabcake. I live in the southwest so I don't know a good crabcake, but I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to taste like liquid. Everything was pretty heavily greasy, like the temperature of the oil wasn't high enough. I was so looking forward to some Maryland crabcake but this was an unpleasant experience. Raise your hand if you go to Maryland and not eat crabs or crabcakes. I'd you raised your hand you have no idea what you are missing. It's a must. So, as I headed back to NY after the weekend I was in search of getting my hands on some blue crabs. I exited off the highway and asked some locals if they knew where i could get my hands on some crabs. They pointed me in the direction of Todays Seafood and told me I was getting good crabs with the best price. The price of crabs are out the roof. When we arrived we ordered male jumbo crabs, 1/4 lb. Crab cake with a side of wedges and fried shrimp. For those who are unaware, the male crabs are bigger and meatier than the female crabs. Thank goodness we arrived when we did because we were able to snatch the last of the jumbo crabs. After eating the crabs, I must say this was the best stop I could have taken. They were seasoned properly, and not overly salted or cooked like some restaurants. I ordered my crab cake broiled, not fried and that was one hell of a crab cake. There were lots of chunky pieces of crab meat and it was broiled to perfection, not overcooked and rubbery. The fried shrimp were crunchy and the batter stayed firm without falling off. The potato wedges were designed for a giant. They were the longest and thickest wedges I've ever had. Please don't allow your brain to go to the gutter with that comment. The wedges were also seasoned and taste great. There were other items for sale such as fish to order or cook. I also noticed we arrived at the right time because the line started to go through the door. Be mindful that the crabs have to be freshly cooked so there is a wait time. I highly recommend checking this place out for your seafood cravings. You better move fast because next time I'm in town, I'll be buying out the jumbo crabs again! read more

Yummy seafood at reasonable prices! My family had the steamed crabs and the seafood/fish combo to-go and enjoyed the meal. The steamed crabs were well seasoned and meaty, just the way I like it! Out of all the seafood combo, my favorite was the scallops. It was soft and chewy covered in the perfect batter. The shrimp, whiting, and crab cakes are good too. This establishment sells both fresh and prepared seafood. They are bare on the minimums. A half dozen tables, fish case and counter to order at is about all there is. I ordered a dozen crabs (you have choices, male / female / mixed - the male crabs were going for about $50 for a dozen while the smaller female were going for about $46 but I am sure the prices vary depending on the market. This crab house restaurant is one of the top seafood places I visited. If I lived closer, then I would try and come every day. The quality of the crabs and shrimps are so fresh with a affordable pircetag that comes with it. The crab cakes were my favorite with the hush puppies come g in to a close second. I tried everything on the menu and I would have to say that I was not disappointed with any of it. The cashier was polite and received my order quickly and correctly. The meat was hard, and did not taste fresh. I couldn't even finish them, if I wasn't home and settled I would have returned them. I eat crabs all year round, I am a seafood fanatic. These by far are the worst crabs I have ever had! I should have been suspicious when I seen how the restaurant was kept. I used to frequent this place quite often and I always got a pound of shrimp (Friday nights I want shrimp and wine!). I stopped going altogether because I got tired of the gamble on if my food would be amazing over reheated/overcooked today. One thing I've learned about this place is NEVER go close to closing time and leave without checking your food. They will give you reheated food and there's literally nothing you can do about it because by the time you notice, they're closed. i purchased a dozen a female medium crabs two days ago that was horrible . I talked to the manager TK the next day over the phone he was very nice and i retuned the whole dozen the next day. I was skeptical when i first purchased them and noticed the crabs wasn't heavy immediately however I still took them but for 55 dollars i couldn't throw them away. TK stated to me that crab season is not yet in but people still want crabs so he assured me that he will remember my face and take care of me next time. (2 or three weeks from now.) He did not refund my money. I did not present an argument however if other venues are able to get good and heavy crabs such as chengs continental, all year round which is a carryout and not a franchise I find it hard to believe that this food chain has such low quality crabs.They were mushy and over cooked. This place has been in business far to long for this disappointment.This is not the first time I received messy crabs from this place but this is my first review.
