This was the first time here and it was very good. The smoked wings were also good the sauce was very tasty. The brisket was good seasoned well and not dry but definitely not texas style but it was really good. The customer service was outstanding i would definitely hit this spot again. The place seems nice and cozy with a bar to match next time I'm going to eat in .

I always hear people talk about a good BBQ spot in Clinton. So I trekked over there for lunch last week and the bar was full, and the restaurant was busy as well, so I was hopeful. I ordered at the to go window and she was very nice. I ordered the chowder and the brisket . It said market price and ended up paying about $18. So when I got home I dug into it and it was cooked perfectly. But it lacked some flavor. And the soup was right up my alley. It had a great peppery taste and a smooth creamy ending. All in all I would have given it a 4 but the sandwich lacked flavors. I will try it again.

Best local BBQ joint close to JBA! We've been craving BBQ for a while now and been to multiple spots in the area including the chains but this Mom and Pop definitely hit the spot! Large portions and great service...will certainly be back!

Came here for lunch and was surprised by how good the steak was. Ordered the sirloin and it had that nice char on the outside and was still pink and tender inside. The seasoning was simple but done right. The fries that came with it were crispy and lightly salted. Our server was friendly and food came out quickly. Not too crowded around lunchtime either. I'll definitely add this to my regular lunch rotation.

This neighborhood gem is a fantastic place to get some of the best Texas BBQ I've ever tasted! What it lacks in size it makes up in delicious food! The service is fantastic, and the place has good history! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a local BBQ spot in Clinton, MD called "Texas Ribs & BBQ". This BBQ spot can be found off of Old Branch Ave. They serve your standard BBQ items such as collard greens, corn on the cob, pulled pork, ribs etc. Unfortunately the collard greens were out when I went. I tried two appetizers onion rings and loaded potato skins. The onion rings were decent and the potato skins were loaded with bacon bit, chilli and cheese which tasted GREAT. My main meal was a sliced brisket sandwich with sides of potato salad and corn on the cob. The Brisket sandwich had decent flavor with a good smoke ring ;however, the meat was dry and not juicy. The potato salad was on the bland side as it needed more seasoning to have a more southern authentic taste. The corn on the cob was spot on and tasted fabulous with a little butter. A worthy mention was the two homemade BBQ sauces which had one spicy and the other one more sweet. I would definitely come back here for BBQ as the place had good service, decent food and it was very clean. I rate this spot 3 out of 5.

My family found this restaurant six years ago when we were living on JBA and have loved it since! Multiple types of BBQ--ribs, brisket, chicken, pulled pork, grilled smoked sausage--and really delicious sides--the mac and cheese, hush puppies, and collard greens are family favorites of ours. The restaurant and bar are decorated with a fun western theme (we're originally from out west so we know what it should look like!) and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Good speed of service too. Highly recommend!

The food and service here is great. I would definitely recommend their ribs, as they're delicious. A fun fact about the place is that Obama was once here! They have multiple pictures in a row near some of the seats. Overall, this place is great.

Well. Not sure what is Texas about this place. I can say it's a very neighborhood place. I walked in and went to the "bar area" entire place turned and gave me "ya ain't from around here are ya" look. There were a couple empty spots so I asked if someone was sitting here and with out even looking up was told ya. Ok. Asked about other spot. "Someone sitting there too" almost left because it's not a welcoming place but I was hungry. Got a table. Order the sampler with ribs and pork chop. Came out as ribs and chicken. Not a deal breaker looked good. Ribs not great. Way over done. Some what "crunchy" chicken ok. Not great. Other issue is it is ridiculously loud. The bar folks screaming at each other sitting next to each other. Not sure why you have to yell if you are sitting next to them but I guess it's a thing. Food came out fast. Service was good. When I left guess what two bar chairs were still empty. Yep. I wasn't a regular and wasn't welcome at the bar. O well I guess they didn't want diversity at the bar. Probably won't go back. Some other local places to try next time in town.

There is limited bar seating along the walls to sit and wait or eat your food. The staff there was friendly, but I will admit that my interaction with them was limited. They serve assorted barbecue including pulled pork, ribs, pulled chicken, smoked chicken, mac and cheese, collard greens, yams, brisket, fish, corn, BBQ beans, and green beans. I got the smoked wing combo with a side of collard greens and a side of candied yams. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food and it was ok. The yams were heavy on cinnamon flavor, which drowned out the regular taste. The greens were good. The wings were ok. I got them in hot sauce they just did not taste as I expected. They did not have much flavor and were not as firm as I like. I will say that the sides came in larger containers than I am use to at other similar barbecue restaurants. I had high hopes for this place, but the food did not really deliver. I hope that it wa sjust an off day and am willing to try this place again.

Yo girl been trying to eat a little healthier and was looking for some baked or grill fish. This restaurant did deliver. The grill tilapia and broccoli was pretty good. The portion size was on point. My son wanted their crab cake burger which I had to taste and it was delicious. They offer mumbo sauce with their fries and it is banging. Got a nice little kick to it. The corn on the cob is so so. Its not bad but I just had better. Its too greasy for corn on the cob too. So confused about that. Any who, I spent $40 for everything which was reasonable for 2 meals. I will definitely be back to try other menu items. The cashiers here are super friendly which is always appreciated because its seems like people are losing basic manners. So thanks ladies for your kindness it didnt go unnoticed. Would I recommend this restaurant, yeah I would. Its not spectacular but its pretty good and you get enough food for the price. That itself is worth it. So go and visit so we can keep restaurants like this open in our community.

There are surprising number of chicken options here for a place called, "This Is Seafood", but not quite as many seafood options as I hoped. I was really looking forward to getting an order of fried scallops for lunch and I was a little disappointed they didn't have them on the menu. I decided to get the Combo #4: 3 whole wings, 6 fried shrimp, and my choice of 1 piece of fish and side dish. For my fish, I chose fried catfish and for my side I chose hush puppies. The combo also came with a fountain drink. I decided to mix their house-made lemonade and house-made iced tea and it made the perfect half-and-half. The wait wasn't too bad, as the food was being freshly made. It was piping hot and crispy when I received it. Those shrimp were huge! Some of the biggest fried shrimp I've ever had...And not those butterfly shrimp either. Whole shrimp, and the tail was removed so I didn't have to worry about accidentally crunching on one of the shells. The catfish was delectable! Perfectly seasoned, delightfully crispy, and absolutely melted in my mouth. So good. I'm coming back for the catfish if nothing else. The wings were perfectly fried, nice and crispy, but they were a bit too light on the seasoning for my taste. And the mumbo sauce tasted too similar to barbecue sauce. I did not like that, so I ended up saving the rest of the wings until I got home to put my own mumbo sauce on them. The hush puppies were also really good. I like that they were fried perfectly and weren't greasy... Even after reheating them. Overall, my lunch cost me about $25 and it was enough food for at least two meals. Can't beat that. I'll be back for that catfish.

Famous Chef Thomas Reviews: Sardi's Pollo a la Brasa (Clinton, Maryland)…read more The Verdict If a restaurant wishes to test its understanding of hospitality, it is not found in the complexity of its menu, but in the grace with which it handles a simple request. At Sardi's in Clinton, the answer, in this case, is clear, and it is not favorable. The Examination A. Foundation : The Establishment Sardi's has long positioned itself as a dependable destination for rotisserie chicken and Peruvian-inspired comfort. For years, The Famous Chef Thomas was not merely a customer, but a consistent patron, returning regularly, investing both time and money into the establishment. The food, while not revolutionary, delivered consistency. The relationship, however, was the true asset. And that is precisely what was mishandled. B. Structure : The Request The request was simple: A standard side of mixed vegetables, unchanged in portion, slightly adjusted in composition. A modest increase in corn within a dish that already contains corn. No additional cost burden. No operational disruption. No deviation from the existing ingredients. This is not culinary innovation. This is basic accommodation. Yet, the request was denied. Not once, but twice. C. Discipline or Failure : The Breakdown A single denial may be dismissed as an oversight. A second confirms policy over judgment. Escalation to management should represent recovery, an opportunity to restore the customer relationship. Instead, it compounded the failure. The response, lacking flexibility and refinement, revealed something deeper than a one-off interaction. It exposed a systemic issue: a disregard for customer value and an unwillingness to exercise discretion in service. When a loyal patron, one contributing thousands of dollars annually; cannot receive a minor, reasonable accommodation, the issue is no longer operational. It is cultural. Hospitality Assessment First Impression: Previously reliable, now overshadowed by rigidity Hospitality: Inflexible, dismissive under simple pressure Execution of Food: Consistent but ultimately secondary Authenticity / Identity: Undermined by lack of service awareness Value Alignment: Broken, price is no longer justified without respect Final Judgment The Famous Chef Thomas does not measure a restaurant solely by its food, but by its understanding of the guest. At Sardi's in Clinton, a small request revealed a large truth. A year has passed since that final interaction. No return visits. No further patronage. Thousands in lost revenue, exchanged for a refusal that should never have occurred. The Famous Chef Thomas does not recommend this establishment.

I'll go back because they can cook.... And they have a fully stocked bar. Ample parking and right across the street from Aldi's.

Nene was our waitress, bartender, superwoman!! she was amazing and I had a chance to talk with her 1-1 like I had known her forever! I ordered whiting with grits and mac with Tisa's Island drink. The drink was delish and mildly strong. Whiting was good, Mac was good (added some salt and pepper tho) grits were like cornmeal style and I liked it! TVs were playing random music videos and the Oriole's game. Music was playing in the back of the cooking area perhaps. This seems like a dope spot for happy hour and late night ventures. They do have karaoke on some nights and a live dj on others. I would come back!

Food: I'm a big eater and even the regular sub was packed with meat. I ordered a chicken cheesesteak and it was really good. My girlfriend got a regular cheesesteak and actually had to take some meat off because they loaded it up for her. We also tried the wedges and wings. The wedges were seasoned but tasted like frozen potatoes, they were okay. The wings were a little soggy and the flavor was just average, not something I'd go back for. Service / Timing: Both the cashier and the cook were friendly and welcoming. Value: Spent about $37 for everything we ordered, which felt like a good deal considering how much food we got. Highlight: Portions. Wrap-Up: The cheesesteaks are definitely the reason to come here. I'd come back for those for sure.

The lady who runs the spot was pretty nice and so was her staff. Not gonna lie it took a while to get my food but there was a line and my food was made fresh and you can actually look back there and watch them cook it. I felt like it was worth the wait. They have chairs where u can sit down and eat so that's nice as well. I would eat here again it's not a bad price either and I would consider it next time I want a cheesesteak for sure .
