8-17-24 Late Lunch Let's cut to the chase this place I had bookmarked and it had many reviews so I thought it would have been a winner. Sadly it was not and joins the group of one and done. We parked very close by and once inside waited for the hostess. She appeared in a matter of seconds and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. Since we could see from the outside it was screened in we chose outside. Unfortunately with lack of air movement it was warm and the smell of fried fish hung in the air. After we ordered our drinks I ordered a Moscow Mule as none of their specialty drinks sounded too interesting to get. Hubby got a Miller Lite in the bottle. After reviewing the menu he noticed a lack of non seafood items. I told hubby we could go after we get our drinks but he insisted we stay. So he chose fried pickles for us to share and a burger that said 8 ounces but was really 3 ounces after cooking which came over cooked without condiments requests ie mayonnaise. Due to the late hour he just grinned and beared it. The fried pickles were ok I have had them before at other restaurants. They give you a generous amount as we didn't finish them. I ordered the Fried Flounder platter. Note you can only get fried I asked, or grilled not broiled. It came two big pieces of fish on top of French fries and two hush puppies. Flounder has always been my favorite fish this dish was ok nothing memorable about it. I think if it was broiled in butter it would have enhanced the flavor more as I really didn't quite get the flavor this way nor did the hush puppies. My drink the Moscow Mule was meh and so was the flounder platter. Disappointingly so therefore we won't be back. It's not like they could have made it better other than air circulation, cleaner table, ketchup bottle full ours was empty but the fries looked lackluster so I skipped. One and done.

What a great place to go to get awesome service and delicious food! We were greeted and seated very quickly. We came in for lunch and we were looking for some delicious seafood. Our waitress was kind, attentive and friendly! We ordered hushpuppies for appetizer and they were delicious and big! For our entree's we ordered grilled shrimp with green beans and fried shrimp with fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies. The grilled shrimp entree also came with red potatoes but I did not want potatoes, so she offered to give me extra green beans which was so great! The inside has many tables, the outside is covered and filled with many tables as well and they also have an upstairs! The bar area is small but I feel like that is not a problem at all. When we are around this area again, we will definitely be coming back!

August 14, 2023 1:30pm party of 3 I have very fond memories of Captain Woody's bar when it was located by the marina. I was hesitant to try their newer restaurant in old town Bluffton but what a terrific surprise! The exterior, interior and especially the cool brick arch at the hostess stand are gorgeous! There is a screened patio and a rooftop bar with a dining area. We had a very attentive waiter - I believe his name was Chris. My friends started with Gonzalez Rita (margaritas) and I had a Pineapple Express. The drinks were perfect and strong! In a world of overpriced drinks, $10 was a steal for these delicious drinks! We shared the best fried pickles - the batter was light and not a drop of grease in the basket. Perfect! My friends loved their shrimp po boy and fried flounder sandwiches. I loved the shrimp basket. Shrimp were cooked perfectly and the fries were thick and crisp. We loved our lunch and can't wait to come back for the rooftop bar! It's gorgeous upstairs and looks like a good time.

Pretty good spot. We lowkey expected the food to be a bit better from the reviews and the wait. Definitely reminded me of a southern/ seafood Applebees.

We got there 15 minutes after they opened and the only ones seated at the bar. You would think they would be on top of things that early in the evening. Nope, my wife had to wait 18 minutes to get her wine (which we bought the whole bottle). Second, they haven't changed their fryer oil in FOREVER!!!! Yes, I know what I'm talking about. As it being an open kitchen and you can see everything. We witnessed them take oil they just cooked in a pan and dump it in the fryer with the other oil. Are ya kidding me??? All the fried food came out dark as all get out it's been that long since they changed it or even filtered it. Third, some of the cook wore gloves and others didn't. No big deal normally. I watched one cook reach in the garbage and then proceeded to start preparing food!!!! No fing way!!!! Four, the Egg Roll was bland, the inside ingredients was garbage. Over cooked and tough. My wife's filet was under seasoned (well no seasoning at all), a cheap cut of meat and dry!!! The béarnaise sauce tasted and looked like it came out of a jar. It was the worst I've ever tasted. She asked for no vegetables and the risotto instead. She did get the risotto. I'll admit, that wasn't so bad. The bread that was under the filet was ICE cold. Not even sure why they served it or put it on the plate. Fifth, this is a one and done for us. There are soooooo many better options in the area with a better menu, price and service. To say disappointing is an understatement. Oh ya, almost forgot. We had to get a Togo bag and it reminded me of the bags you use to pick up your dogs poop. I'm not even joking.

I made reservations for Farm Bluffton with an outside table last year. who knew it was hot in July?…read moreMy sister in laws face was melting at the outside table so I had to adjust fire. 2026, I made a reservation inside with our own private table. The restaurant is very charming, it's giving off White Barn Inn Kennebunkport vibes. Once you're seated, you'll see why this is a popular Low Country restaurant. We're all given menus and what I noticed was a game changer. Farm is offering a three course tasting menu but the entire table has to participate. My wife was feeling under the weather so I grabbed the waiter to the side and said, we're all in with the tasting menu except my wife. Can you make an exception? Not a problem sir! The three course menu does not include the popular Farm corn bread. I placed an order before our tasting started. You're probably saying, what's so special about corn bread? Man... If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right. The corn bread was cooked in a skillet pan, the end result was a buttery, sweet treat. The sharable starters came to the table. Roasted May River Oysters, Beef Carpaccio and Burrata with shaved ham. The Roasted May River Oysters were my favorite bite of all these selections. The oysters were large and plumpy and the chef did not overcook the shell fish. Next, the waiter dropped off a huge bowl of Shrimp Rice along with a Heritage Pork Chop. This is what elevated southern cooking is all about, the pork chop was moist and had a wonderful taste. Another highly recommended dish. Dessert, I was starting to get really full but the Blueberry Olive Oil cake did not disappoint. There was a Toll House Hand Made Pie, also very good but I really full at this point of the meal. First time dining at Farm, it was a pleasure to dine here and I can't wait to return.

Before leaving town, we decided to have dinner, and that is where Farm comes in. We decided to go with the recommendation of the staff up front and the waiter, choosing the Anthology menu for dinner. That selection was impossible to be disappointed with. The food is sourced locally, the taste is exceptional, and the service (shout-out to Justin) is outstanding. We just planned a return visit to Bluffton for May. This is what a low-country dining experience should be.

I was solo and sat at the bar as the restaurant was full and that was the only option for a walk-in. However the seating was nice, service was outstanding and super fast. I asked for recommendations and was happy I listened to my waiter. I had the She Crab soup and honestly, it was the best I have ever tasted. It was more like a bisque and super tasty and rich and had lots of crab. I would put this recipe in the She Crab Hall of Fame it was that good. I then ordered the blackened Carolina Redfish and holy moly this dish was devine. It was a chargrilled blackened redfish over super smooth whipped potatoes, generous portion of lump crab, and just the perfect amount of citrus beurre blanc (note I deleted the spinach on my dish) and it was one of the best fish preparation I have ever had. I simply can't believe how delicate and soft and tasty this dish was. Unreal preparation and flavor that I would gladly order again and again. Our server was very attentive and checked up on us several times to ensure our food was good, our drinks were refilled, and that we had everything we needed. We were given an abundant amount of gloves and utensils. I appreciated the quality of the "bibs," as they were much sturdier than ones at other cajun seafood places. We were very happy with the food and service. All of the seafood was very fresh, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the scallops were as that's not typically something I order at these kinds of restaurants. Definitely order the Hook & Reel special blend to get the most flavor and you won't regret it. We opted for the spicy level and it was perfect- spicy good flavor, but not overwhelmingly hot. The shrimp were huge and the crawfish were pretty big, considering the fact that they're small in size to begin with. The fries were fried to perfection and the flounder was delicious too. HIGHLY recommend this spot. The food and service were superb! This was the only restaurant I could find in that area with crawfish, as all other restaurants had shrimp and crab only. It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.
