From the moment I saw the seafood case, everything looked ridiculously fresh, and that freshness carried straight onto the plate. The Tides is both a seafood market and restaurant, so you're surrounded by beautiful seafood and ingredients that actually look like they belong there. Then I noticed the MICHELIN plaque outside the building and thought, wait a minute... THIS place has Michelin recognition? Apparently, yes! The Tides has earned a place in the MICHELIN Guide, which suddenly made a whole lot of sense after tasting the food. That salmon was seriously some of the best I've ever had. Fresh, beautifully prepared and so clean tasting that it didn't need a bunch of heavy sauces or nonsense piled on top. It felt like one of those rare meals that is indulgent because it's delicious, but you also walk away thinking, I actually ate something good for me. They tack on a $3.39 card processing fee and completely rush you out. The server interrupted our conversation, handed over a portable machine, and said, "I'll wait right here for your card." I had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had at Publix today…read more The cashier, NARIYAH, never greeted me, never smiled, and acted as though she didn't want to be there. I said "Hello" first, and she mumbled a quiet "hi" back. When the transaction was over, there was no "thank you," no "have a nice day," and no acknowledgment whatsoever. The entire interaction came across as rude and dismissive. Ironically, the bagger was the only bright spot. He was friendly, polite, and wished me a nice day, which I truly appreciated. Publix has always built its reputation on outstanding customer service, but unfortunately that reputation seems to be slipping. Management should be paying closer attention to the customer experience and coaching employees who interact with the public. A simple greeting, a smile, and a sincere "thank you" cost nothing, yet they make all the difference. This experience was disappointing and not what I've come to expect from Publix.
