We made a trip to the Captain's Galley on 9/15/15. Once again not disappointed! I had the pick 3. Oysters, deviled crab, and scallops to die for. The scallops were some of the best I've ever had anywhere, including the beach. They were prepared perfectly. Baked potato, hush puppies, & sweet tea were also great. Service was great as always. If you want great seafood, the Captains Galley is the place for sure. On a trip to Pigeon Forge, I detoured the 10 miles to exit 417. It's like my truck can find The Captains Galley on its own. Often when you return to a restaurant, it's not as good as you remembered. NOT the case with The Captains Galley. It's better than ever. Everything was better than you could imagine. It's better than high end restaurants at a fraction of the price. If you love seafood, you'll love this place! read more

On 12-27-22...Out of salads, out of soup, all the food taste was maybe a 6 or 7 out of 10, and for the less than stellar tasting food, everything was overpriced. We (party of 5) were the first to be seated, the first to order our food, waited 50 mins after ordering, and were served our food 3rd, and the waitress was always hardly available. Great fish and seafood, wait staff is always awesome. Love the catfish! Plus they do have a seniors menu with very large portions.

We love this restaurant. In our opinion it's the BEST Seafood restaurant in East Tennessee. The Ultimate Seafood Feast is a fair price and excellent taste. My wife and I go here often. Very good. I was thoroughly impressed. And the hush puppies are absolutely DELICIOUS! So I am in town from Palm Springs, CA visiting my family that lives in Morristown, TN. Coming from California, I know good food and have so many options. Well, that is not the case down here. Taking that into consideration, I really just wanted to eat some catfish. Haha. So we drove the 45mins to this place because of a referral from a family friend. I ordered the broiled catfish with cole slaw and mashed potatoes. I have NO COMPLAINTS. And I will be back atleast once more before I head back to California at the end of the month. And they are abiding by Covid-19 rules and requirements. Enjoyable meal with a large crowd on a Monday night. I had the fried cod, hush puppies, and okra with a very small cup of cole slaw. My fried food was very warm, as was my okra. Both had a delicious taste and were not overcooked or greasy. Generous portions of cod and okra but the cole slaw serving was very small, in a condiment cup. I hadn't even heard of this place till my boyfriend found it on Yelp (where else?). It was a busy Saturday night, but we were seated quickly, and our server was with us shortly thereafter. I wasn't expecting the rustic log cabin ambiance, but it was a pleasant departure from the usual "fish house" decor. I ordered a seafood combination, and had plenty left over for not one, but two meals later in the week. The only downside is that the oysters were miserably over-cooked, but the clam strips and popcorn shrimp more than made up for them! Our server was prompt and helpful, and the facility seemed impeccably clean. Portions were large, and prices were reasonable. Captain's Galley is now in our regular Sevierville-area restaurant rotation! read more

First off they start you off with a bowl of what are the absolute best hush puppies I have ever had. And as many if them as you can eat no less. Bonus points for that. I ordered the two choice fried combo... Catfish and clam strips and fries as the side. When I got my plate I couldn't believe the pile if clams on that thing. Holy crap! Along with 3 big pieces of catfish and a nice pile of fries. It was good. Pretty much exactly what you want when it comes to fried seafood. Let me tell you what, have bring you out some good ol Texas Pete's to squirt on that catfish and you're good to go. Foods good, service is good, its nice inside. The last one being 9/18/2020 my order was wrong and I called the restaurant to see what happened and the girl said that the Boom Boom shrimp was there. Well its Tennessee so its a challenge to find seafood. Dont expect fresh off the boat catch. Its just red lobster with a different name. Some may call it seafood. I call it pre processed, flash frozen food. Just dont set your expectations to high and you'll get through it. read more

Went here for a family seafood dinner. Ordered 2 appetizers and meals for 5, and came home with 4 very full boxes of leftovers! Particularly liked the bacon-wrapped scallop appetizer, blooming onion was solid, and the bottomless hush-puppies were seriously addictive. All meals come with the aforementioned hush puppies, and a salad. Salad was the perfect size and was very fresh and full of a variety of vegetables. I ordered the cajun grilled shrimp and scallop platter with a side of mac n cheese. Little too heavy on the cajun seasoning, but once I rubbed a little off it was perfect, next time I'll just ask them to go light on it. And be warned, the shrimp (while grilled) comes in a bowl of cajun spiced butter and oil. Tasty, just not as healthy as the name implied :) The Mac n cheese was SO GOOD, definitely homemade southern style too. Sweet tea was so good I bought a gallon to go. They sell it by the half gallon so you know it's good! Hubby ordered a fried platter with grouper, popcorn shrimp and deviled crab. All incredibly tasty, and not too heavily breaded. He seriously brought home FAR more than he ate and he's a big dude. He also had the fried okra side, and those were really, really tasty! Prompt, friendly service. Generous portions. Nice selection. The restaurant was relatively empty and it still took 45 minutes for our food to come out. Several tables came in after us and received their food well before us. Server did apologize and was very good. Food was just ok. Server did recommend Mac and cheese as a side and said it was homemade. Found a piece of fake fingernail in our bowl of hush puppies. Server said it wasn't hers but it was an exact match to her nails. This restaurant is just OK. It's a seafood restaurant with some broiled, but mostly fried items. Decided to order a broiled combo at the waitress' suggestion. Had a lengthy conversation with her regarding the crab me used in the crabcakes, the stuffed flounder etc. She assured me that there was no filler, although I explained to her that was impossible. First waitress laughed and the order was taken by second waitress. I ordered shrimp scampi and stuffed flounder with a baked potato. I took one bite of the flounder, and then asked my girlfriend to take a bite. She spit it out of her mouth, and said this is all breading! And to be honest, it barely even tasted like crap. And the shrimp scampi came with six shrimp that were drowning in butter, with a very mild garlic taste. Entrée comes with a garden salad, which includes mostly iceberg, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheddar cheese and croutons. Spoke to the waitress, who took the flounder off of the check. My combination platter was supposed to be $16, and instead she made it $12. My girlfriend ordered the shrimp scampi entrée, with approx. 12-15 shrimp for $15. (if you could deal with the scampi drowning in a mostly tasteless butter, it was a good value.) I requested a manager and explain the whole situation to her. She told me that I must have misunderstood, because the filling for the crabcakes is different then the filling for the flounder. I explained to her that perhaps the waitress misunderstood my question, but we had a 3 minute convo about the crab, and my girlfriend perfectly understood what I had asked. I also asked the manager why I was being charged so much for 6 shrimp. at that point, she change the check to charge me just $6. I ordered a combo, fried Haddock filet and clam strips. Came with coleslaw and a side and I chose onion rings. $10.49. My wife had a single order which was two Haddock filets, coleslaw and a side of fried Zuccini squash. $8.99. They also gave us a bowl of hush puppies. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious.
