I was a bit disappointed with the pizza. We tried the pizza from reviews we read and ordered a white pizza. It was unique in that it had potatoes included but honestly the potatoes and cheese did not go together and was more on the soggy end. The food was excellent! Very flavorful and so quick. We did stop by around 8:30 on a Saturday night and had our pizza in less than 10 minutes. We ordered a small pepperoni pizza and garlic bread. Ordered here twice and had two polar opposite experiences. First time was really impressed, and felt like the high ratings for Captain's Oven were deserved. Second visit... incredibly disappointed, especially with where the bar was set on first trip. Food 2/5 -- First time going here, we ordered the Captain's Sprouts Vegetarian pizza. I was very impressed with the arrangement of toppings; very complementary with one another, and daring combinations. The only thing I could suggest as an improvement would be to to slice the dates and spread them around the pizza. Second visit was takeout near closing time. I'm not sure if the person who made our pizza was just tired, or didn't give a f--k, but the pizzas were terrible. We got the Margherita and Vegetarian Chef's Special (picture of the latter attached, sorry for bad quality photo but I wasn't planning on taking photos at all). Starting with the worst of the two -- the Vegetarian Chef's special was a bomb. There was no Alfredo or Pesto. The pictures on the website show a fully loaded pizza; this one was pretty sparse. It tasted like a flavorless grilled cheese sandwich. The Margherita was also ugh, but slightly better. Barely any basil, and no sign of basil oil. Pretty sad considering our previous pizza, I would rank as one of the best I've had in Vancouver, followed up by what was honestly worse than window pizza. Atmosphere 4/5 -- Really nice atmosphere. I mentioned to my girlfriend that it looks like the lobby to a tech start up. Tasteful furniture, with brick wall/industrial interior. Not bad. Service 4/5 -- The service is good for Vancouver, especially these days. The server on the second visit even brought the pizza out to us as we were getting ready to pick up. Cleanliness 5/5 -- Top notch, great job with cleanliness. Overall 3.75/5 -- Almost everything is hitting the nail on the head here, but the food has been hit or miss. However, for service these days I think they do a really good job -- pandemic service has been horrible and they don't do too bad. read more

There's a menu choice for everyone here and the value for dollar is unbeatable. My guilty pleasure is the Capricciosa - ham, artichoke, fior de latte for $23 at large Size. Amazing flavours and not your average pizza. This location is spacious and easy to get in and out of. Easy to quickly grab a pizza or a slice in today's socially distanced world.
