This place is still a SCAM. They sold me a car they had been sitting for 2 years and told me they had it for 2 months. The service engine light came on during the ride home from the dealership. There salesman "Rich" and manager "Fernando" will say anything to make a sale. Promising a engine warranty but did absolutely nothing to fix a major leak after 3 trips to expos mechanic. WORST of all there selling illegal cars saying there's a 90 day registration when in fact its completely void. They had a Ford edge that they had reset to turn off all dash lights. They charged me 20,000 for the car and everything seemed okay when I left the dealer. I shouldve known there was a problem by how pushy they were trying to get my down payment. Within 5 days of having the car I found that the brakes were worn to almost nothing, the check engine light, low engine oil pressure light both came on, the was an axle grease leak, and a rear suspension issue. When i called to have them look at the vehicle they gave me stupid excuses about their mechanic not being in because it was slow and that he wouldnt be in for months. I believe this was to discourage bringing the car back to be fixed. They sold me a car with a bunch of issues ans refused to rectify any problem and still expect payment. I can only blame myself....Even after reading the horrific reviews I drove two hours to look at a jeep i was interested in. I called the day before and was told the car was on the lot. I arrived the next morning and inquired about the jeep and was told "it was sold". I then asked to speak to the man I talked to and was told "he is off today" before I even gave him the man's name. I then spoke to the manager who told me the car was sold days ago. I recently bought a 2003 Chevy Tahoe, "AS IS", from Car Expo. It came with empty gas tank, no coolant, cracked passenger side view mirror, driver side seat doesn't recline back and forth, passenger side window doesn't roll down (salesman said will be fixed tomo when I go in). I understand "AS IS" but I don't understand a dealership not wanting to fix these simple things and sell these vehicles with dignity. At least fill up the gas tank for us!!! (3-Star Rating) But outside of all of this which are simple fixes for me, I do give them a lot of credit for the financing part of the deal. The salesman heard me out as far as what payments I wanted and beat that. Negotiated with the bank to get me almost $100 off my original payments. I am very satisfied with that. I will be willing to give a better rating if my complaints are repaired or I am helped in some way. read more

This place deserves NEGATIVE stars! Honestly, I wish we weren't so hasty to get a car here and I wish we had read all of the reviews first. This place is run with absolute LIARS. On the phone, they sound sweet. In person, when you're looking at their cars, of course they try to kiss your ass. But absolutely don't listen to them. It should be a sign that they let you take a Corvette off the lot for a test drive with ZERO supervision - because these cars are worthless to them. The car we wanted, they claimed had a broken seat adjuster and that they had already ordered the new parts (what a timely coincidence). TWO MONTHS after we purchased the car and after REPEATED phone calls multiple times a week to ask if the part has arrived, and after multiple assurances of oh the part will come in a few days, we found that they had stuck the WORKING part under the seat this entire time and lied about it, wasting everyone's time. Not to mention, I asked for a tracking number on their "order" and they said the manufacturer didn't give them one. What a load of crap is that - a manufacturer of Corvette parts can't provide a tracking number. After test driving the car, we went into Carlos' office, ready to make the purchase. The moment I sat down, I knew something was off. This is a crummy office and here's this guy, decked out of Hermes clothing, Luis Vuitton belt, and a Burberry man purse - how? I'll tell you how: he scams you out of cash money and keeps it for himself. He claimed that the Corvette we wanted didn't come with a remote control and that if we wanted one, which we should have one for this specific car, then he can get his friend to program a remote for us for $150+. But don't tell his boss! His boss doesn't like it when he does this! So we haggled down to $100. He goes and "have his friend program a remote" for 20+ minutes and then comes back with this worn out, used remote for us, which it's safe to say that it probably came with the car this entire time. My dad gave him $100 cash when we were away from the office. If you ask these men or Carlos anything, you'll most likely receive an answer that starts out with a stutter because they're quickly trying to find any way to bullshit you. I didn't trust them, and was hesitant after reading reviews after purchasing the car. It was a breath of relief when we received the loan statement in the mail and received registration stickers from the DMV. But ugh, stay far away from this place. I have no complains other then the car i bought had some wear and tear but once again I expected that been a 11 year old off road vehicle. Any review below saying they had a great experience is people from the company writing their own reviews. So here it goes: I like everyone else before me wish I would have seen the reviews before I drove 120 miles to this hole-in-the-wall junk lot. I saw an ad on CL for a yellow jeep wrangler. I saw the carfax and it was clean so I called ahead. I spoke to Alan about the condition as far as scratches, dents and defects. He said "oh yeah we just got it, its pretty much perfect." Alan asked if I was going to do a cash deal or trade. I told him I was going to have a trade-in. After I got off work (I work nights) I drove from Coronado to Downey. When I saw it I thought this can't be it! There were dents and scratches all over it! There was even a spot that looked like it was covered up with yellow nail polish! It looked repainted and the front right fender was completely cracked. This is your definition of "Perfect"? I test drove it anyway cause I was already there. The A/C is busted and the seat is ripped. So I try a silver one - broken windshield, the breaks are pulsating and the passenger seat won't lean back or forward. The whole time I'm asking questions and Alan, the sales guy, says "I'm not really sure" to EVERYTHING! After the 5th question I stop cause he knows nothing. The test drive consists of driving around the block so you never get out of 3rd gear. That was considered a "good test drive" haha. So I go inside cause I'm pretty good at working a deal. Both jeeps are listed at $18k and I'm thinking I wouldn't pay more than $14 but we'll see what we can do. The sales manager Jose aka John has his feet up on the chair and his mouth full of food. First I had to introduce myself to him. I ask him about the conditions of the jeeps and as he's swallowing his food and wiping his face off he tells me they come as-is and nothing will be fixed or replaced but I can probably get one of my friends to fix the A/C for $60. WHAT?? I asked why he wasn't able to negotiate on the price and he said "well that's my price, you know how valuable jeeps are since you're from Cali and you were raised around them but hey don't worry if you don't want it you can leave. Its still early, someone else will buy it, your just the first people today." Everyone working there is Hispanic and my friend and I are white, I never even paid attention to that detail till he said "you white people can afford it." What the hell? You white people? I cut him off right there and asked why he was being so abrasive and rude. This is a business you don't need to take everything so personal. Moving on...When my friend asked John a question about my trade-in, he snapped and told my friend to be quiet for 2 minutes so he could talk. He said he would only do cash, no questions and my trade in wasn't worth even looking at. Umm ok, then why didn't Alan tell me you didn't accept trades? That's when he told me if I wanted to negotiate a price or wanted to trade-in I needed to look else where. I told him I looked forward to it and picked up my things and walked out. I have seriously never been so insulted in my life. He said he does so much business he didn't care. I was still pleasant but told him I would find a reputable dealer who can actually afford toilet paper in their bathrooms. They had McDonalds napkins for TP haha. WOW!! Lairs. Their application form is a credit application form and have you sign that whether or not you're financing car with them or paying cash or financing Somewhere else. These people are crooked especially John and José. They have some young guys working there and they mean well and they're just doing all the Dirty work all the other guys don't want to do Anyway got financed through my credit union went there specifically telling them I didn't want to finance with them. They ran my credit anyway. Worked out a deal as it was my first car that I was purchasing. Made that agreement and as I was going to sign they upped my price by 1700 According to them it was license and registration fees. Little did we know that they ran our credit to see how much I was being financed for and after seeing that I was finance for about $2000 more then we had arranged it up to my price and I walked away. Trying to keep me he offered me 300 worth of warranty. Which is a lie since they don't offer any warranty. Of course that's not the end of the story my ID was not returned to me so the next few days went by and of course I was looking for it called them to see if they had it and of course no one had returned my call or called me to tell me that I had left my ID. After arriving to pick up my ID I try to see if I can work out a better deal than the +1700 he was offering me I had already given cash deposit 1500 and I asked him to give me a number and purchase order that I can go get financed where I can come back and give him a check for that specific amount and I can walk out the door with my car no extra fees no questions no butts. Went straight to the manager. He took the kids commission rewrote an amount without giving the sales rep credit, and talked bad about the sales rep. He said I could walk away with car after the check was receive from credit union. After it was received he said he needed additional days to go stand inline to get registration and licensing. Wtf. Regardless this is by far the worst place ever. I expected sleezy hustling car sales men. But these people are lower than low. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

ZERO STARS. YES, IT'S THAT BAD!! I have recently bought the car and it took 3 trips for check engine light to come up. My mechanic checked it and found out catalytic converter and MAP sensor were bad, suggesting dealer resetting the light before sale and car WOULDN'T PASS SMOG ONE DAY LATER!!! I called them like 20 times and was either nicely lied to or ignored/made an idiot of. At the and of the day they didn't help me at all. Also, make sure NOT to buy GAP insurance from them. They will try to push it - they lied to me saying i had to buy it which wasn't true at all. So i called, faxed, mailed to cancel it - finally they told me i will get the refund AFTER fully paying off the car in two years. That's not even dishonest, its offensive. I was looking for a car that they have listed on CL; just like the other previous reviewers said about their experience is so true. The manager would not let us test drive the car until paper work was filled "if we agree with the number than we can test drive". The manger demeanor was very rude when we tried to negotiate numbers. The manager said his "prices are the lowest cash price and will not budge a penny less"; he even have told us that "if we don't like it get the hell out of here!!" We sure did and will never step foot into this business and just wanted to warn everyone not to waste your hard earn money at this establishment. Going to this dealership was a complete waste of time. They had a car that I was interested in advertised for a decent price. I called and confirmed that the car was clean and still available then I drove out there (an hour). When I arrived they told me that the car had been put on hold the day before, and the new owner must have picked it up because they did not have it anymore, but they have a lot of other really nice cars. They had other cars that were kind of dirty, and not a good deal at all. My guess is that these advertised deals are just a gimmick to get people to come in to their dealership. We didn't buy anything because our credit was not great but instead of pushing the in house financing, he went over our credit report to help clear some problems up so we can get a good APR rather than over paying on a vehicle. This dealership is bad news. Wasn't sure it was the same place until I went to look at a car there. They post car listings to lure customers in. Even when they know the car has sold they keep posting the same car for sale for a rediculously low price to lure customers in. I saw a car I was interested in. I called and was told oh sorry that car sold. The next day I saw the same car advertised by the same car lot. This car has distinctive features that are easy to spot. I went to see if the car had not actually sold. The dealership was still closed even though it was well after their posted hours of opening for business. No matching car in sight. It is now 5 days later and they just posted the exact same car for sale again. This is clearly a shady bait and switch attempt to get people on their lot even though they don't have the car for sale that they are advertising. My previous experience there that I did not realize was the same place until I went to the location for this car was for a Jeep that I called ahead and they said they still had. When I arrived someone approached and told me oh that car had sold but they had these other jeeps for a great price. Knowing prices and Jeep Wranglers pretty well I knew right off the bat they were highly inflated prices. Some of the Jeeps at that time are still on the lot months later. I am not sure if they actually have any cars for sale for a good to reasonable price since it seems if they say they are there or not the cars advertised for those prices never seem to show up. This seems to be a pattern that others besides myself have noticed. I have seen postings of similar experiences and of other types of misrepresentation in other locations on the internet. I purchased an suv on Sunday night and on the drive home my overdrive light starts flashing. I looked into it the next day and it's a signal your OD is going out. Also the next morning my check engine came on. I called the dealer to see if they could have someone look at it and we could figure something out. Because you can not sell a lemon even if as is you must state all vehicle problems especially drive train and motor tranny etc...... My wife was looking for a Jeep for a few weeks in San Diego and we decided to venture out and see what is out of our county area. Checked Craigslist and we saw the ad for Car Expo. Called and talked to Carlos who ended up being a great help. He answered all the questions over the phone and helped with the start of finance to make sure that she is qualified before going all the way down there. When we got there, he helped with showing us a few different Jeeps and telling us about them. After my wife find the one that she liked, I happen to see one that I thought looked good as well. Before we know it, he had us both in a our own Jeep and on our way back to San Diego with a smile to both our faces. They helped us with finance, pricing and a great customer service overall. Customer service was poor. I told them I was driving over an hour to buy a Cadillac truck, when I got there it was filthy and out of gas. Over the phone they said it had 160,000 miles. Upon arrival I found it had 173,000 miles. After much discussion I decided to buy the truck even though the guys were jerks. I paid with a credit card for which they charged an additional $375 fee. The agreement was they would refund the price of the vehicle and the fee once I sent a cashiers check. They signed for the cashiers check on July 10th and as of Aug. 4th the charges are still on my card. At this point I have paid double for the vehicle. Of course, I have since disputed the charges, but there was no reason for this to get confusing. They refuse to remove the credit card charges even though they have the check. To top it all off, I live in a town where all mail goes to a PO Box. I made that clear to them but they insisted they still needed my street address. They keep sending mail to the street address, which then gets returned to them. Now I have to go to DMV to have the address changed on the registration and pink slip. Buy at your own risk! They have some nice cars, but don't expect the transaction to be smooth. I dealt with Richard, a young guy, early 20's, who had no idea what he was doing. Then dealt with John, lot manager, who insisted on calling me "Boss" and is the one refusing to remove the credit card charges. read more

OK on the one hand these guys are so funny they should have their own television program. CarExpo hires a collection of dumb bunnies fresh off da boat. I wanted to purchase a Jeep Wrangler. They had two, a low mileage one and the high mileage one. There was $2000 dollars difference between them. I told the fellow I spoke to I wanted the low mileage one and what I would pay for it. I told them to call me back if they wanted to deal. An hour later they called back and agreed to my price. I asked them to repeat back to me what we had agreed to. Surprise, they raised the price three hundred dollars. I told them no, go back to my original proposal. After consulting the boss they again agreed to the original proposal. As we were doing this via internet and phone I asked them to put the agreement in writing. They wanted my Credit Card number and wanted a $1000 deposit because I would not be picking it up today. I said no problem, but they first needed to send me the agreement in writing. Again, more him hawing and finally I received an Iphone photo of an agreement. Now they a pushing very hard for the credit card number and the $1000 deposit. Looking at the agreement, I checked everything over. First the increased the purchase price. Second and more significantly, they switched vehicles. They were now selling me the high mileage Wrangler at almost full price. If I had signed their agreement and sent the deposit what are the chances of them giving the deposit back. I would say pretty slim. These folks are sneaky and are the stereotypical used car salesmen. Needless to say, they refused my original offer. I will look elsewhere. So, save yourself some grief, wasted time and the aggravation of dealing with CarExpo and shop at a legitimate dealership. Now, if you just want to have some fun and someone to torment, I can't think of a better crew than the folks at CarsExpo. read more

ANTI-MILITARY, ANTI-CUSTOMER SERVICE As I have already filed a complained to the BBB, I can now release my complete issue with this SOB. First I get to this location, as I have already been in search for this car that I have been wishing for a very long time. A Mustang that's all I wanted, and they so happened to have two and one that had just walked out. So as I looked in it was clean with higher then I had wished on the miles, 133,000. For 4,959, plus all the additional fees of course, As we sat there with the Manager I informed him of my Military service (USMC/Infantry) and seeked for a Military discount, and he had cut the price down to $5000 with all the cost added, I had a definite smile on my face, until my wife advised me that I was not thinking clearly, and to rethink other avenues, and the crap began, he insulted my wife, made a parody to the USMC salute, and Insulted me as a man, As my wife left I still thought it was a great buy, upon a second look I realized it was not that great of a car and the man decided to continue the BS. Decided to leave before I did something that I would regret later.
