I came here for a full synthetic oil and filter change using a promo I found online. $59.95 out the door plus taxes and a 3% credit card transaction fee, which is better than all the other competitors. Initially, other dealerships quoted me $139.99, which is insane, right!? I would definitely come back here for maintenance whenever they have a really good promotional deal. Their website also says they will match other dealership promotions, so that's a big plus. While waiting, they have a decent waiting area stocked with coffee, a few chips, and, to my surprise, donuts. I came in at 6:30 AM and had my car done and picked up by 7:50. I had a really disappointing experience at this Hyundai dealership. I came in for a simple oil change, and from the moment I arrived, the customer service was poor. Instead of simply focusing on the service I came in for, I was repeatedly pressured with upselling, and they even called me afterward trying to get me to change/trade in my car. It felt more like they were focused on making another sale than actually taking care of their customer. Picking up my car was just as frustrating. There was nobody available to help me, and I had to repeatedly ask if someone could please get my car for me. On top of that, an employee gave my partner an attitude because she was waiting for me in her car and told her to move, even though there was nobody at the front and she was simply waiting for me to finish. The entire experience was unnecessarily frustrating and unprofessional. Basic customer service should not be this difficult, especially when you're paying for a service. Unfortunately, my experience has continued to get worse. Since trading in my vehicle to Downey Hyundai, I have continued receiving traffic, parking, and toll violation notices for the vehicle I traded in. To date, I have received six (6) citations, with the most recent arriving just two days ago--nearly two months after my trade-in. This indicates that my trade-in was not properly processed or the ownership was not transferred in a timely manner. As a result, I have spent countless hours disputing violations and worrying about my driving record and financial liability for a vehicle I no longer own. This place has become disorganized, & communication very poor. Today was the 2nd time in less than a year I've had to bring my brand Hyundai Tucson in for repairs covered under warranty. First the radio/dashboard unit was flashing on & off. They diagnosed it & said it was defective & needed replacing. Okay, fine! I noticed my vehicle was leaking fluid last week took it in today only for them to tell me it's leaking from the engine. This is nuts! I am so dissatisfied with this place & dissapointed with Hyundai in general. I've had 12 year old cars that never leaked engine fluid!!! So, ultimately they sold me a lemon! I spoke to a manager twice & she made no apologies, only they'll cover the repairs under warranty, but I would need to deal with corporate if I wanted to be reimbursed for the rental I'll have to be in for the next 5days. This evening around 7pm I went to the sales department & dealt with a male Floor Manager named Hamza. He was screaming at me wouldn't let me talk, scaring my 2 kids. He wouldn't let me talk at all. Since yesterday, we exchanged countless text messages regarding a specific vehicle. In addition, I made a confirmation call at 8:12 AM this morning to verify whether the vehicle was available and ready before visiting the dealership. Based on these communications, we were instructed to come in. However, upon arriving at the dealership at 10:05 AM, the assigned sales representative, Andrea Rodriguez, was not present. After waiting, around 10:15 AM, an assistant informed us that the vehicle we came to see -- a 2023 Chevrolet Express Cargo 2500 RWD -- could not be sold due to a transmission issue. This information should have been confirmed and disclosed before asking us to make the trip. Checking the condition of the vehicle and confirming whether it is sellable is the most basic responsibility of a dealership. Failing to do so, despite extensive communication and a same-day confirmation call, shows a serious lack of internal coordination and professionalism. Additionally, contacting a customer at 8:12 AM for confirmation is inappropriate. Any confirmation should be made after at least 9:00 AM via call or text to ensure proper acknowledgment. Because of this poor communication and lack of verification, we spent a significant amount of time traveling in the LA area unnecessarily. This entire situation could have been easily avoided with proper vehicle inspection, accurate information, and respectful communication. Instead, our time and effort were completely disregarded. I am extremely disappointed with the service department at Downey Hyundai. I brought my car in because Apple CarPlay stopped working. I paid for a diagnostic, but the technicians were unable to repair the problem. They determined that the next step would be to replace the USB assembly. I never received a call from the service manager when the part became available, so I scheduled another appointment in March. When I arrived, I was told the part was unavailable. The staff apologized and said they would reorder it. Unfortunately, I became busy and wasn't able to return immediately. This week, I called to schedule the repair. I was told I would need to pay another $250 diagnostic fee because, according to the service department, diagnostic results are only valid for six months. During the call, I assumed that timeframe had already expired. However, after I got home and checked my receipt, I realized my original diagnostic was from February, so it is within six months and should still be valid under the policy they described to me. I then attempted to schedule the repair online, but my appointment was never confirmed. I also left a message for management asking why they would not simply schedule the repair using the existing diagnosis or explain why another diagnostic was necessary. No one returned my calls. Poor communication, lack of follow-through, and an unwillingness to return customer calls have made this an incredibly frustrating experience. I cannot recommend the Downey Hyundai service department based on my experience. read more

My dad scheduled an appointment with Ben at 2:30 PM. We arrived on time, but after waiting 30 minutes, we were told Ben was "busy." Instead, we were handed off to another salesperson, Jordan. When we asked about Ben, Jordan said Ben had a family emergency, which was a total LIE because we saw Ben walking around the dealership (you can see their name on the badge) and even standing in office, avoiding us for some reason without us ever being able to interact with him. This dishonesty immediately set the tone for the professionalism here. When we requested a test drive for the Ioniq SEL, Jordan made us wait another 30 minutes, saying he needed to move cars around due to other vehicles blocking it. The car he finally brought out wasn't even the SEL--it was the SE, which I myself had point out and ask for him to bring the SEL. Only then did they bring the correct model, but guess what? Again, there was no communication & at this point, we were passed off to yet ANOTHER salesperson, Alexis. While Alexis was kind and clearly tried his best, he admitted it was his first month on the job. It was obvious they didn't take my family or me seriously and instead gave us whoever was available. After the test drive, we were ready to discuss pricing & Alexis had to bring in a manager. Because they didn't have the exact model and color we wanted, the discussion ended vaguely. In total, we spent over TWO AND A HALF HOURS at this dealership--just to test drive a car, be misled by staff, and be bounced around between salespeople with NO prior communication. Overall, the lack of honesty, communication, and professionalism was unacceptable. I felt severely judged based on my age and appearance, and my family was treated with disregard throughout the entire process. I felt that since they saw I was young, they thought I would be wasting their time or something (when in fact, we were serious about getting a car). This was the third Hyundai dealership we visited, and needless to say, we finally found and purchased the car we loved. We've been enjoying our new ride ever since! However, I'm disappointed in how a post-purchase issue has been handled. The car I bought was pre-owned and already had tinted windows. A warning sticker placed directly on the window by the dealership got caught when the window was rolled down and tore the tint. I called as soon as it happened (9/4) to ask how it could be resolved, since the sticker was put on by the dealership. After multiple follow-ups and a visit to the dealership yesterday (9/16), I was told the only option was for me to pay for the repair because I "bought the car that way." This has been frustrating because: * The damage was caused by a sticker applied by the dealership, not normal wear and tear. * I was initially quoted for all four windows, then later told only one window at full price with no discount. * Communication was poor; I had to repeat the same information several times over nearly two weeks to get a clear answer to the same individual. For a dealership with such great sales service, I expected the after-sales support to reflect the same standard. I visited Downey Hyundai specifically to purchase a new Palisade Calligraphy. The test drive went well, and I found the exact exterior and interior color combination I wanted on their lot. That's where the positive experience ended. When we got to pricing, I received the classic "let me talk to my manager" routine. The salesman returned with what he called "great news": they would sell me the vehicle for $5,000 over MSRP, plus financing at 1.25 points above Hyundai's advertised rate. They never even ran my credit to justify this inflated interest rate. When I asked for an explanation, the best they could offer was that the color combination was "in high demand" (which apparently justified the markup) and that their interest rate was "a great rate" (it absolutely was not). Brought my car on Tuesday May 19th at 8:30 am because my fuel door was not opening. After 3 hours they did confirm that the part was defective. They told me they had to order it. On Saturday May 23rd I got a call and they told me the part was in. I asked if they were open on Memorial Day and they said yes. I asked them to give me the earliest possible as I needed my car right away. I got an appointment at 7:30am. It is now 1:30pm and my car is still not ready. I came in person and they said my car won't be ready until 3:30pm. Over 8 hours to fix a latch on a gas door is ridiculous. I told them why can't they communicate that to me that the part they received was defective so I would make the determination if I should come back. Tony tried changing the original price I had agreed to with the other salesman. After I raised concern, Tony insulted me by yelling and cursing at me telling me F you and calling me an A-hole and did it in front of my family. The crazy thing is I hadn't even dealt with Tony until the last minute. He came into the finance guys office angry trying to intimidate me into a price I hadn't agreed to. He was rude and hostile from the moment he started speaking. He screamed the entire time and as we were leaving he was still screaming from his office yelling for us to leave and saying that he ran the place. It seems like I'm not the only person that's had issues with Tony. There are several reviews showing how he comes in aggressively trying to intimidate people. Everyone else at the place was very nice and I feel bad for the original salesman that was helping me out because it was going to be his first sale. Do not buy or lease a vehicle from Downey Hyundai. I initially avoided this dealership because several people warned me that they sometimes change agreed-upon terms at the last minute. Unfortunately, that was exactly my experience. I only contacted Downey Hyundai because they had the exact vehicle I wanted. After negotiating a lease, we agreed on both the amount due at signing and the monthly payment which was approved by the GSM. Those terms were confirmed in writing via text message. However, when I arrived at the dealership to complete the transaction, I was told that the GM would not honor the deal and that the monthly payment would be approximately $80 higher than what had been agreed upon. I ultimately leased the car there but due to their classic bait and switch practices I had to pay more than the previously agreed in writing amount. The salesperson I worked with was professional throughout the process, but my interactions with management were overwhelmingly negative as even after admitting they had initially approved the original price, the GSM would not speak with me face to face. Also I tried to reach the GM for over 3 weeks to discuss my experience but he never returned the call. If a dealership confirms a deal in writing, customers should be able to rely on those terms.
