After talking with Ryan and thinking things over I went from planning on getting an amp, new front speakers and sub to installing the door speakers entirely, adding the amp with the option for a future sub install. I'm glad I went this route. The quality of sound I'm getting makes me debate if getting a sub is necessary. The wires are neatly ran and zip tied, I can appreciate this since I do a lot of network cabling and some low voltage work myself. The future subwoofer knob was mounted clean onto a vacant plate. It was not cheap and I have no buyers remorse. Great audio isn't cheap, and cheap audio isn't great.

I then brought it to mobile car audio. They rewired the whole truck stereo system because Best Buy put lighting wires in instead of wires for sound. When a crack appeared on the foam surround, I brought it back expecting help with a warranty claim. Before even looking at the sub, the owner muhammad, immediately dismissed me, claiming it must have been "hitting something." I explained there was more than enough clearance and invited him to take a look for himself. He walked outside, glanced at it for barely 5 seconds, and said, "Yeah, sorry, nothing we can do. Rockford has a different warranty than brands like Kicker. You could buy a new one though." Guess what? I reached out directly to Rockford Fosgate myself. Within 24 hours, Rockford inspected photos of the sub and fully approved the warranty replacement. Elite Audio couldn't even be bothered to do basic homework for a customer who already spent $1200 in their shop. They aren't interested in helping you after you walk out the door--just in selling you another unit. Take your money to a shop that actually backs what they sell, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

I told him what I needed, and we walked over to my van to take a look. I have a newer 3rd-gen Acty--maybe one of the first on the island--and Kent took his time inspecting the interior to understand how the locks and windows worked. He was incredibly thorough, checking every door and window carefully. I was a little concerned about drilling into the van or interior panels, but he explained how their alarm systems are installed and even brought out some parts to show me. That helped me decide where things could be mounted to keep everything as clean and minimal as possible. I also mentioned that when I first got the van, all the doors used to lock/unlock with the key, but they randomly stopped working. He said he could take a look at that too. Kent walked me through all the different alarm options and recommended the best one for my specific setup, especially considering the van is over 25 years old. I wanted something high-quality, and he got me set up with a 2-way alarm system and the mobile app add-on with GPS tracking. Someone had missed their appointment that morning, and he was able to get me in the same day! Not only did they install the alarm, but they also fixed my power door locks--now I can lock and unlock all my doors (including the trunk) with the remote. The install was super clean: no holes, no visible wires. 10 out of 10--highly recommend. But then I decided since I was there, I better tint the whole car with legal tint. But the next day, I found out my car antenna got ripped apart, mind you, it was storming that day, and I just went home afterwards and parked in my garage. Honestly, I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. My other half brought his truck in for a sound system installation, and while we initially only stopped by for a quote after shopping around all day, Chris's expertise sold us. He was incredibly patient, taking the time to explain the pros and cons of our ideas and offering suggestions to make the final result even better. He also kept us updated throughout the entire process, so we were never left in the dark. What really set them apart was the extra mile they went. Even though Chris was only hired for the audio, he noticed several issues with a train horn we had installed at a completely different shop. He discovered the compressor was running continuously and, upon further investigation, found multiple hazardous mistakes from the previous installation. Chris and his team took it upon themselves to fix those errors, potentially saving us from a major headache (or worse).
