Took my pickup truck in to have a new stereo, speakers, remote start and alarm installed... immediately afterwards my blinkers were messed up which they charged me for a diagnostic on bit didn't fix and didn't take responsibility for yet my home town mechanic said it was caused by them running the wiring in my steering column. Then had to have my heater fixed cause they fucked up the wiring on the stereo as well. My alarm goes off randomly and the second electronic lock key doesn't work at all. Thought having professionals do the job was the way to go but learned going through cartoys was no different than having that friend do it that fucks up all your lights in the process. I'd give them a zero star if I could. read more

I made an appointment over a month ago to get my sub woofer and amp installed. I tried calling 3 different times to make my deposit and NOBODY ever answered the phone. When I arrived at my given appointment day and time. They erased me off the books because I never made my deposit, when u remove someone off the books a call would have been nice stating you were doing so or to follow up on why I hadn't made my deposit. Well someone can't make a deposit if u don't answer your damn phones. They did fit me in which I appreciate but I dropped my car off at 9 am and I called in at 315 to check the status and was told that they hadn't even started on it, and they aren't sure when it's going in because they "fit" me in, although I was suppose to have an appointment. I started seeing red at this point. pulled up at 4:30 to check the status and it was just being pulled into the bay. I was ready to walk in and tell them to just forget it since I live 1 hour and 10 mins away. This place has zero communication skills and they really don't care for there customers. I was giving them a second chance because this has happened to us before and just to say I am officially done with these incompetence people. We finally left at 8pm which is an hour after they closed. Also on top of it I paid 500 in labor for a 3.5 hour job Ridiculous. Don't go to these people. read more

Apparently when you make an appointment over the phone. No one there writes it down, or can even remember having talked to you. Prices change over the phone, then when you get to the store, and if you let them work on it I'm sure the price will change again. Went to another company to have it done, it was actually free, like it was supposed to be at car toys, since that's where the radio was installed. Their parking lots are empty, and it's no wonder to anyone that's been there recently. I just watched a YouTube video and saved myself the money. It's not the sudden cost that lost them my business, it's because they dont have any integrity. All the problems the radio was having while it was installed is because the wires were not connected at all. To include the microphone, it even still had the plastic grommet that comes with it out of the factory, other wires werent even spliced in period. So they do shit work too I guess, I'm not even mad I'm just warning everyone else. BUYER BEWARE. IF I could add pics, I would to show you the shotty workmanship they've displayed. read more

Brought our Jeep Grand Cherokee in for a detailing. Was upsold a "hand wash" for another $25. Got our car back with two new dents in the hood that nobody knows how they got there, a car interior that looks like it was cleaned by a 12 year old before he was allowed to go hang out with his friends, bug guts on the windshield (indicating little, if any, actual washing) and the wheels and tires not touched - which we were assured would be done. Will never return to Car Toys for anything. read more

Relatives who had never been to our house before were visiting and we were anxious to have everything clean and comfortable for them. Having recently purchased a used car and knowing that we would be using it to show our visitors around town, we decided to get the car detailed. Car Toys was having a Groupon sale for car detailing but we found out that it didn't include the cleaning we needed. After talking about it we decided to go with them anyway. We specifically pointed out a few stains on the apholstry and some dry cereal in the trunk for their attention. The car was dropped off at the Spokane N Division store when it opened at 9 am and the attendant was very friendly and efficient. He assured us that they would take care of the issues we mentioned and told us that they would call us when it was ready but that we could probably pick it up at 8 that evening. We never did get a call but realized that 8 was fast approaching so we raced over to the store and got there at 8:04. The store was black and locked up but after we knocked on the door, the clerk opened back up, opened a til, and took care of us. Now here is why I'm giving them such a poor review: 1) The next day we noticed that the spots on the apholstry we had mentioned were gone but that there were now a few new ones. 2) The cereal in the trunk was still there and the trunk had not been vacuumed. 3) The rest of the vehicle was *clean* but not to the level I expected for a detailing service. 4) We never received a call telling us the car was ready. 5) The store closed at 8 pm, the default pickup time, so they should have told us to pick up the car at 7:30 so that we could pay for it, inspect it, etc. The clerks in the store were great (the reason I gave them any stars at all) but everything else was terrible. For us, the moral of this story is that we'll go to people who specialize in what they do, not to a store that is trying to expand into territory beyond its specialty; car radios. read more

Plus two for grudgingly returning my money, minus two for blatant incompetence/miscommunication/failing to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time and minus one for corporate's failure to follow up with me after leaving two voicemails on their customer care number. Another minus one on it being impossible to reach corporate to talk to a person in any way shape or form. Corporate is in many ways worse than the store, and the store is pretty bad. I had exceptionally high hopes going in because of the can do attitude and willingness to work with the customer. Unfortunately it all fell apart. Car Toys promised a job would be done on time and failed to deliver. They then tried to tell me I delivered the car too late, but Car Toys reassured me the car would be fine when I dropped it off. Never a good idea to blame the customer, especially if you have control of the situation, not the customer. When the car was picked up at the agreed upon time nothing was ready and we were forced to to assemble the car uncompleted back into its original state. Car Toys tried to charge me for their "work" and I refused to pay because they had failed to complete the work order. It became quite contentious and car toys threatened to kick me out of the store. That actually made me respect the management a little more because they were standing up for their installers, but clearly threatening to kick customers out of your store is not conventional business practice. Anyway the situation de-escalated because both parties realized how stupid it was. It was only when I demanded to see the paperwork on the work order and they couldn't produce it that they refunded my payment. The most pathetic part of this is that I repeatedly tried to contact corporate via phone regarding these issues, and I have not been able to get a human. So even if the carnage was limited to this car toys store the company is not making it any better for the other stores. The entire brand is unfortunately compromised because of a collective unwillingness to reach out. Admittedly it can sometimes be hard to fix something if you have totally missed a deadline, but I feel demanding payment in a situation like that is pretty self-entitled , simply because you did work trying to meet the deadline, is pretty unprofessional. There is a reason the word used is deadline. I imagine if car toys responds at all, they will simply say I changed the deadline. That is categorically untrue. Anyway, go with an independent installer who understands that their word is their bond. Car Toys is too unpredictable. read more

Jeers to car toys on north division! I bought my son a car stereo for his birthday on March 2 and set up the installation for March 16th. When my son drove to the appointment from Newport he found out they didn't order the right part and he would have to wait for the part to come in.  I was already upset that they dropped the ball so they offered to give me a discount on the parts. 3 weeks pass and I never heard back from them so I called yesterday  and they had the manager Jeff call me today saying the part never came in.  When I asked can we get free install Jeff's starts telling me there's nothing he can do about that only wanting to give me the same discount as before. Plus the guy is rude and condescending.  Seriously the worst customer service I have dealt with. read more

If I could give them a zero I would, I had a rattle in my rear sub and they told me it was my third brake light in my Infiniti and offered to Dynamat the area and they said it would cost around $100 (Knowing Dynamat was not cheap, about $180 for 20 sq/ft) I thought it would be reasonable but when I got my car back, the rattle was still there and I discovered that they just stuffed some packaging foam between my brake light and rear window! This is a complete scam and it is ridiculous that such a large corporation did such a crap job, and that they are stupid enough to do this! Make sure you check the work they do before giving them your money! I paid $100 for a piece of foam to be stuffed in my car, when I ended up just putting a blanket over the sub and did my own Dynamat job which ACTUALLY fixed the problem. BEWARE:) read more

Had a groupon deal for interior detailing. The staff was great and friendly so that was awesome. But the actual job was not the best, maybe just not what I expected. Some of the areas they didnt get to I would have been able to at the regular carwash vacuum area. And for them to take all day from when they opened until they closed, wasnt the result I was expecting. I guess you get what u pay for on groupon? But again, great staff! read more

My experience would've been a 10 if i hadn't been lied to or had the real truth not been omitted about the shop minimum fee. Being tacked on to the cost of installation 45 dollars to do NOTHING. I had already told the sales person the radio was not functioning and needed to be replaced. A new deck was shown to me and I was aware that there would be a installation fee of 70 dollars. That I'm fine with the fact that 45 extra dollars is tacked onto that is absolutely rediculous that is a greed driven charge and paid for something that wasn't a service provided. I will not be a return customer as I will not support such greedy business practices. I will be steering other people meet an know away from car toys. This would be a different experience, and a positive review had this been explained to me up front about a charge/fee being placed upon another in addition to my bill I'm all for paying for services rendered but when i brought this to the persons attention i was met with the answer of "well I'm sorry thats the minimum charge and thats just how it is". It was a 236 dollar bill after that fee was added in. Thats no minimum! Thats lying period and I'm by no means a satisfied customer. The install was fine nothing is wrong with the workmanship nowhere near above and beyond. read more

Do NOT get your car DETAILED at this location. First of all, they don't do the exterior! We traded in my car as part of a deal for a new pickup, and I wanted to drive the car my husband had been driving (2009 Escape, purchased new and never smoked in), so he took it to Car Toys. We had a pickup detailed by them several years before, and they did a beautiful job on it, so we were disappointed greatly by a vehicle that came back with smeared windows, and they didn't get the backs of the rear seats cleaned. So my husband took it back and--GUESS WHAT? It still had dirty windows and seats. When we did the work ourselves, we found plenty more places they missed. Please don't waste your money on these folks. Go to a PROFESSIONAL detailer because this Car Toys doesn't understand the meaning of the word detail, let alone how to do it. They do know how to charge over $200 for their poor work, though. read more

This place has horrible customer service, they don't greet their customers when they walk through the doors, there is always a problem when we have to go here to get our intoxalock recalibrated, they take forever to do your service, and they are extremely over priced, they could care less about their customers. Took them 7-8 hours to install a remote start. They told us it would only take 4-5 not very pleased but it works great on cold mornings.

Bought a stereo in December as a Christmas present. They took the car into install but didn't have the right part. They said they ordered the right part but they said it was backordered....three months. The problem is they didn't tell us that it was backorder...three months. They then ordered if from another supplier and said they would call us to let us know when it will arrive, still waiting to hear back from the manager. This is truly unbelievable. I don't think I have EVER experienced such bad service. I see that most reviews are bad so that should tell you to take your business to someone who cares. We are still waiting for the stereo and installation! read more

Let me start by saying that I purchased a Groupon for an interior car detailing. I looked online at reviews and everyone said to avoid the one on Sullivan and that the guys on Division were the best. I took their advice. I was up front when I made the appointment and they were up front with me when they said that it might take all day because Groupon customers are taken care of out of order. I was fine with that and arranged to have alternate transportation for the whole day. I arrived, they inspected my car and the kind gentleman Seth (really professional young man, very polite) explained everything that they do during the auto detailing process. He said for an extra fee they could wash my seats and explained that process as well. I said okay, and I paid the extra $60 + taxes, came to like $78. Cool beans, a clean car, clean interior carpet, and clean seats, ozone deodorizer to kill bad smells (I didn't have a smell, thankfully, since no pets in the car, no kids in the car, and no smoking) what a deal! I dropped my car off in their care at 10am (Sunday- right when they open). I received a call that it was all ready for pick-up at 4:00pm. This was perfect. 2 hours before close was plenty of time. I picked up my car and it smelled nice and the inside looked great. There was some dry wash stuff on the back door frame, which was fine, I could take a rag to it. Had to run back in and get my steering wheel cover, also no problem. There are bolts that hold my seats to the car, much like other vehicles, that were not cleaned and had dust, some hair, crumbs, etc that one would find if you've ever had messy passengers. Ok, fine, I'll clean it myself. Everything else seemed great. I opened my vents, and one of the little panels that directs air was broken and now I have to stick my finger in the vent to move the panel where I need it. Sure, it's one little panel, I'm sure I can get over it. The next morning (Monday) I get in my car for work and there is the most disgusting mildew smell I have ever encountered. It just smacked me right in the face and because my drive to work is about 20 minutes, I smelled like mildew the rest of the day. Great. I left my windows open to try airing it out, nothing works. I've tried air fresheners, nothing works. The hotter it gets outside, the worse the smell gets. It's August, so 80-90 degree weather is gonna suck. I don't have money to fix this. My fiance found out last night that the floors were not dry underneath my floor mats that they must have put back in the car before it was dry, which is the cause of the mildew smell. He only found out because the floors were still wet last night because we couldn't find the source right away, which left it to get worse, even with windows down for drying. It's now Wednesday morning and I can't put anything in my car without it having that smell and I have to bring perfume with me so avoid smelling like a pile of dirty clothes at work. Long story short, do not go to this Car Toys or any Car Toys for an auto detail. The guys are nice and polite, but not well trained enough to dry the car out completely before putting things back in, and your car will smell worse than when you brought it to them. read more

DO NOT COME HERE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE POSSIBLE! I bought a sub system and stereo two weeks ago and had to cancel my original app due to work conflict. On the day that my original app was scheduled the manger called me asking me why I didn't show up and I told him I had canceled it with Corey and he said " im going to F***ing punch him in the neck for not canceling this." I'm Came in on Black Friday as the manager who canceled my app suggested to do AS I HAD ALREADY PAID. I came in at 8:30 today on a first come first serve basis and was told I was 4TH CAR IN LINE FOR SERVICE! 12 hours later I'm standing in there closed office where they tell me it will be another hour! The manager asked what he could do and we asked for a discount and he told us that was not possible as they would loose profit! We said we were not happy with the customer service and he said " this is the highest rated car toys in the country"- HARD TO BELIEVE! I will be taking all future services to Sounds on Wheels, Aspen Sounds and Snows auto. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME BREATH OR MONEY HERE! I will be in contact with the BBB as well as car toys headquarters shortly. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at any " professional establishment."! read more

What an awful experience at the location @ 6709 N Division St!! My kids bought me a detail groupon as a gift. When I dropped off my car, I didn't happen to have the groupon with me. The staff were very put out about this, a staff member named Greg, in particular, was very rude about it. He made me show him my car because he wasn't convinced when I told him my car was a smaller size. Why would this matter? At that time, I asked him to leave the car seat in the back seat and he said they would clean around it. Car seats can be difficult to adjust. I went to pick up my car the next day and, in the parking lot of Car Toys, as I was getting out of the passenger side of a vehicle, I accidentally tapped my door on the door of the vehicle sitting next to it. I didn't mean to and it didn't do any damage. As I entered the building to ask for my car, Greg, in a loud, accusing voice said, in front of a line of customers and staff "So do I need to go buff that car you just hit? I heard you hit it with your door!" I was taken aback but did admit I'd tapped it and it had been an accident as he was marching out the door to go look at the car. I apologized for tapping the door of the other vehicle. I should not have been addressed like this in front of others. I'm a customer and I'd also apologized. Then the staff person checking me out questioned me about my groupon and tried to charge me more than I owed. I had to argue with her to get the price right. When I went out to examine my car, I found the detailers had taken the car seat out and put it in the trunk. What an unpleasant experience! What an incompetent staff. Too bad that what was meant as a gift for me turned into such a terrible example of bad customer service! I won't do business there again. You know what they say, "A satisfied customer says 'Thank You' and walks away happy. A dissatisfied customer tells at least ten other people they were unhappy." I had my SiriusXM replacement radio installed yesterday. I've had two radios installed and one transferred by this store without any issue. This last visit has to be the worst experience I've had at Cartoys. It took under an hour and I paid $77.73. The radio was activated before I left to go to my appointment so activation was not the issue. When I picked up my truck I was told it was ready and up and running. No one took me out to my truck to make sure I understood the new radio or explain any of the features and requirements of it. I left the store and it wasn't working. I thought I'd just double check my activation. I called SiriusXM to confirm. It was good. Still no idea what was wrong. Now not only was it not working but there was message that there was no signal. I called the store and they asked me to come back. When I got there they took it back and discovered the antenna was not properly connected nor was the auxiliary cable connected. That was taken care of. Someone went out to the truck and went over things with me. The radio was working. Now later in the evening I get into my truck and the radio has horrible static. I take it back in this morning and they find that the satellite connection is loose so he used a piece of electrical tape to secure it. Now it works but it looks like a third grader installed it. And I paid for this mess. I was not offered a discount on the service and I only got an apology after my third trip. So not happy with this store or its service. I will never go there again and you can bet that I will tell everyone I know about the horrible service I received. Three trips and plenty of my time wasted with this crap install. Go elsewhere! I brought my car in for an exterior detailing. It was a disaster from start to finish. They said I could drop my keys in the "dropbox" in the back early since I couldn't come in at 9am. There is NO dropbox...just a nondescript hole in the garage, which would be really easy for someone to just reach in and steal your keys. The result was very disappointing...they basically just did a car wash for the price of a detailing. None of the scratches were addressed, and my headlights were oxidized. They said I'd have to pay $100 to get the headlights done (which I later did myself in 10 mins with toothpaste!) They said "that's what you get" when you get a Groupon detailing. Really? Isn't the point to get repeat customers? I'm never going back. To add insult to injury, I realized they had put several scratches in my windshield. Of course, they denied it, the manager wouldn't address it, and they didn't even give me a partial refund. Horrible. read more

We had a stereo installed what was was $200 ended up being well over $500! The install took two full business days. Both days we were promised it would be done first thing in the am. We had contact them about the vehcile and where they were at both days with it. After getting the vechile back the key fab no longers works and the park-aid no longer works. So we called the next day to see how they wanted to fix those problems. They wanted the car left for a couple more days... they also said it may cost us more. No thanks! We wont be headed back and we also wont recommend. read more

I'm so excited, I got my remote starter for my truck today. I've been waiting for this remote starter for many years now and finally got it. I called all around town to get the best price and lo and behold Car Toys beat everyone's price. I've heard many good things about car toys, that they have the best price and customer service. I called and talked to the Assistant manager Jake. He was very professional and knowledgeable on all products, what I like best about him was he is very down-to-earth and easy to talk to. He gave me a great deal for my truck with a remote starter and also my girlfriends car for her remote starter. She gets hers installed Monday, she can't wait. I plan on getting a sound system done here shortly for my truck due to my experience. I would recommend car toys to any of my family members and friends and anybody who wants quality customer service here in Spokane. Definitely ask for Jake. Thanks Jake!!! read more

3 people told me not to go to Car Toys...they were right...5 hours to install a set of $120.00 Quinn 6x9's, one JL Audio sub and one JL Audio amp...there is hardly any sound coming out of the 6x9's mostly bass, not much mids and highs, so i look at it. I have a monsoon system in my car. the stock 6x9's worked as the subwoofer (kinda like components) separate wires ran to the woofer and other wires to the tweeters, good sounding system when it was stock, looks like the installer tried to replicate the idea with FULL RANGE 6x9's.. YOU CANT DO THAT, WE TALKED ABOUT THAT BEFORE SPENDING $900.00...so now Im going to have to take it to a better company and have them fix Car Toys mistake. No I do not want them touching anything else on my car. I talked to another local company (locally owned) and they will do the job CORRECTLY. Yeah they got $900.00 from me, but I wasn't done building, I still gotta replace the OTHER 6 SPEAKERS, and add a NEW AMP to run those. read more

I Took my sons truck in to have stereo,amp,speakers and a sub installed at the North Division store. Picked up truck got home and seen that they did not install the sub. Took truck back the installer said he didn't know if he had time to rewire for the sub since it was after 6;00pm I left the truck 45 minutes later they called and said it was all done. Two weeks later stereo quit working took back and the wiring by the fuse was bad and all the old cables and wires where left in the truck. So I took the truck to the Valley store so they could look at the install and remove all the old wiring. They called and said everything was good. Picked up the truck and the next week stereo quit working again. I stop By ASPEN SOUND and told them what was going on made a appointment with them and they found the problem. When the speaker holes got cut the First time the installer did not clean up his mess there where metal shavings stuck to the back of my new speakers causing the system to ground out. It costed me another $70.66 but well worth it. I will not recommend any one to go to CAR TOYS nor will I be back. read more
