Car warranty company sent me to them, for an issue with a warning light. I called them ahead of time to make sure they could fix the issue and they told me they could. I get there if they do the diagnostics and then call me and tell me they can't do that type of repair wasting hours of my day. When I told the person at front desk that I called ahead of time, he told me that tells them all the time they can't do that type of repair not a good answer in my opinion. read more

Online website shows Antioch location open on Sundays. Called to get scheduled for a hole in my tire to be fixed. They scheduled me for an appointment. Drove there on a tire losing air only to have all doors of business locked with a closed sign on door. Called Carx and was told it would have to be done tomorrow and they were closed! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO CARX/FAST TIRE IN ANTIOCH. I gave them four opportunities and five days to make it right and now it's a warning. I really did not want to post this. I love supporting local business and have used Car-X/Fast Tire (on 173) for a very long time. I have taken my car here for a long time and have always had a positive experience. I kept going there because I was a single mom for 8 years and they never appeared dishonest and always seemed to do what is right. I brought my car in a few days back because my brakes were a little squeaky. I have three kiddo's- I don't mess around with my vehicle. They replaced my brake pads- all good. I was in my car for literally 30 seconds (I went to Aldi) and all of these sensor errors started popping up on the dash. So, within 2 minutes I brought it back and they said "not our problem. I went through the sheet of service and they did an inspection- no electriical issues- everything was good, but now every sensor light I had was on. They cleared out the sensors and said it was good to go. Again, 30 seconds down the road and all the mechanical lights turned on. I take it back and again, they say, "not my issue." They then tell us they are going to do another inspection- they come back "it wasn't us-it's just a coincidence." They are now telling us we have to pay to have the "free inspection" they originally had done-$100. I brought this in for a mechanical issue (the brakes) and now we have all of these electrical problems that were not there upon sending into the shop. They keep denying any kind of liability and they are referring us to "corporate." I'm sure that will go over well... $1,110 for a new issue that they caused and has to be fixed. Do not take your vehicle here. $1,100. We called corporate, and it was the wrong number... they gave us the wrong number. My family and I have been here forever- they have 100% lost us as customers, but they have lost my entire family who takes their vehicles there. Before I brought my vehicle in with zero mechanical errors- upon receiving: -Trailer stability assist problem -Hill start assist problem -vehicle stability assist problem -antilock brake system problem -Power steering system problem ....and after $1,100 they say "not my issue" after driving it off their site- 30 seconds down the road. Shady business-and now I have to take all three of my kids an hour away to an Acura dealer. Hopefully, we're safe- if not, you know what happened. I just cannot believe the unprofessionalism, lack of accountability and overall service provided by this business. I wish i would've read the BBB rating (1.4 stars) - and not BBB accredited- before entrusting my vehicle and family's safety to these people. Don't trust all Google reviews. I learned the hard way. Came here to get 4 tires replaced that I had delivered to them got an early morning appointment and I dropped of the car 1 hour later I get a call and they tell me bring us a set of new lug nuts because yours are "swollen" I said okay I'll be on my way I take them the lug nuts and she tells me also there's 2 studs that snapped on your car when they were removing the lug nuts it's "200$ plus" I said I'm not paying that because it's not my fault she says we'll you can't leave with out them being replaced so she says we'll do it for $105 and I told her I mean I have no choice anyways so I pay the 105$ get my car back and I see there's 4 of the "swollen" lug nuts on my car that they said they won't put back because they don't want to be liable, I check my old "swollen" lug nuts and you can tell they used the wrong socket and that's how they damaged the lug nuts because I took the wheel off a couple days before with a breaker bar with no problems but the tech much of sent the impact gun on these lug nuts. I have been to this place a few times and most times it was OK They balanced some tires for me and that turned out ok. This time I went in to talk about a warranty issue. There was one guy in front of me in line and no one at the counter. 5 Minutes later the guy shows up and answers the phone right in front of us. Spent 10 minutes on the phone and I walked out, Its ridiculous that he answers the phone while having customers in line. This was unacceptable, You need a lesson in customer service. As you answered the phone to talk about someones car concerns you lost a customer that was in your store! I will try to shop at the many other tire places instead. read more

Do not give these people your money! The Manager just hung up the phone on me when I called to ask why they would remove the green caps from my nitrogen filled tires and replace with gray, and never telling us that they do not even have nitrogen on site. These guys were awesome. Unfortunately, they discovered I need to get my AC compressor replaced. They figured this out after re charging my compressor, and re filling the Freon needed. Once they figured out that wasn't the issue, they didn't make me pay, and gave me a reasonable quote to get it all replaced. They were great with communication and expectations. Tried to give them the benefit of doubt-took my car to another GM dealer -disassembled power steering pump and was told "definitely nothing wrong" after Fast Tire told me it was shot and quoted me $1100+ for a new system. My experience is that they are not reliable and not very customer friendly. It's been a year since I was told by Fast Tire that my power steering pump needed to be replaced @ $1100.00 +. I turned to Fast Tire when Discount Tires quoted me an excellent price on the tires I wanted, but then couldn't produce them and subsequently gave me pretty awful customer service. Fast Tire, on the other hand, provided pretty great customer service. They were professional and worked with me to get my business without being needy and overbearing. I wish they were a LITTLE more friendly when I got there and that there was more than ONE open parking spot in their whole lot, but they make up for it with their über-cool waiting areas and quick service. If you're sick of the tire places that pressure you to make a deal, even if it's not on something you want or something you KNOW won't look good on your car, go to Fast Tire. You might pay a few bucks more, but you'll save your sanity! read more

I went here when they were called Fast Tire, so not sure if things have changed since then, but I feel the need to worn people ahead of time!! I needed new brake / brake pads, and had called them to see what they would charge. I had received a quote from Motorwerks, which was outrageous (I bought my car from them when I was a car salesperson there), and since my Dad had gone to Fast Tire a couple of times, I thought I'd call to see what they would charge ($800+ compared to $2300). OK...I'll go to them. Front desk manager was nice, place looked nice, and I thought I was getting a great deal. After we filled out paperwork, they said it would take a couple of days. I couldn't figure out why it would take a couple of days, but they said they would have to order the parts. So, they gave me a clunky "loaner" that reeked of cigarette smoke. Here's the kicker...I have an S2000, and know my car very well (how it feels, how it drives, etc.). When I got my car back, I could feel something was off, and called the manager. The front left (drivers side) tire kept thumping (not too loud, but I could feel it). I looked it over myself, check the tire to make sure it wasn't flat, and then looked over the brake itself. I don't know much about brakes, but it looked like the mechanic "jerryrigged" the brake mechanism (lots of wires wrapped around something). I told the manager, showed him, and he took it for a test drive. He said he didn't feel anything, and had the mechanic look it over, they claimed they couldn't find anything wrong. I knew something was up, because at normal to high speeds, it kept doing that. Took it back to them, and they insisted everything checked out. I unfortunately learned to deal with it, but during the winter I was sliding all over the place (which never happened because I have great tires), and the thumping was continuous. Months later, I decided the next chance I had, I was going to go to Costco and get new tires (thinking that was the issue). They came out and asked me what I wanted to do with my Dunlop tires. I said 'WHAT do you mean DUNLOP'? I have ALWAYS purchased YOKOHAMA tires for my S2000!! The FAST TIRE mechanic had SWITCHED out my tires to cheap Dunlops!! NO WONDER the thumping, and sliding all over the road!! It never dawned on me to check my actual tire brand (since they put the tires with the brand name on the inside)! I never noticed, because it never occured to me someone would do that! Since Costco replaced the crappy cheap tires, I haven't had any issues with the thumping, and my car rides pretty well...although I still think there's something wrong with the brake since I've never seen it rigged that way. I asked the nice man at Costco if they could check the brakes, and he said they don't work on brakes. At least the thumping has stopped, and my tires grip the road in all seasons! HOPE THAT MECHANIC IS ENJOYING MY YOKOHAMAS! DO NOT go here!! If you do (which I'm not sure why you would want to after reading this), make sure you take pictures, and check to make sure you get your nice tires back, and check their work before you leave!!! read more

I used to go here a lot few years ago when I had used cars prior to CarX coming into play was good but then had a few bad trips so stopped Now gave it a try cause I needed tires and have kept coming back for oil changes headlights and most recently brakes Cody behind the counter is great very personable I would recommend asking for him when you come in as he makes the service more pleasurable at least in my opinion and so far so good read more

The rims I bought here have a cheap coating that is already deteriorating, and now 3 out of 4 are bent. These ICW rims are about 5 years old and cost a small fortune. Also, these crappy spline lugs have the same cheap coating, and are constantly breaking the cheap keys they make to remove these lugs. I have replaced the spline key 5 times since having these installed. Now I'm replacing all of the lugs with gorilla hex lugs to avoid breaking cheap key after key, since places like this sell cheap tools to unsuspecting customers. I am very disappointed that this store recommended the rims I bought. They are cheaply made and don't even look good anymore. The salesperson was obviously not knowledgable about the products, and this store cannot be relied upon for smart, logical opinions or recommendations. read more

Never Again! The manager was awful, sold me off road tires, expected me to know what I was purchasing.. "Umm, that's why I came to you, You're the Tire Experts!!!" The tires were not balanced and wanted me to pay an extra $80 for a road force balancing. First off, they should have been balanced to begin with, second, I purchased the warranty, so shouldnt have to pay extra for it! Finally, I talked to someone else on a different day (Yes, I had to go there several times) and he said they would take care of it. They said they did but the tires still felt off! Well, since the tires were still not right, they told me I had to call General Tires to get my tires replaced (the women on the phone said they should have called). Yep, you heard right, they made me do their job. Talk about Lazy customer service!! Anyway, once my new tires came in they tried to get me to pay the difference. After all the hassle they put me through, they were trying to get more money out of me!! When I refused to pay, the manager threw the papers in his hand and said "Just Go!" Wow, I couldnt believe he just did that. I said, "can you at least understand where I'm coming from?" He said that Fast Tire did all they could do and preceded to blame me for all that happened. I have had no prior experience with this shop until Friday. Thursday, I ordered tires from Discount Tire Round Lake and they were promised Friday. Not only did they want to dick me around on price, but they couldn't come up with the tires. If you are curious of the full story, there is a review I left on the Discount Tire Round Lake store's Yelp! Page. I called Fast Tire and they promised me tires next day at noon. Perfect. They even matched the "pissed off customer discount" I had gotten at Discount Tire when I found out my tires wouldn't be in until TUESDAY.. Mind you this was a FRIDAY. Shop is clean, workers are clean cut and communicative, service was quick. Only complaint I have is that I dropped it off for a 9AM appointment to have the suspension looked at to determine what the cause of play was in the steering, to order parts and install before the tires were installed, and suspension aligned. I waited an extra two hours for the car due to that. My rating for now is at 4 stars.. I may return in the future. read more

I had a brake dragging and they replaced the rotor, pad, and caliper at a significant cost. The brake was till dragging after the completion of the work. I took it back and they said they adjusted it and by the way, you have a loose tie rod. It was replaced at anther significant cost. On my way home, the brake was still dragging and now I had a vibration in my front end and steering wheel that I did not have before the so called repair. I'm at my wits end with this shop! I'm going to try to get it in next week if it is a nice enough day, because I am the only driver in my family and have to wait for it, which you can't do inside anymore. read more

I have been using the same Car X tire and auto in Antioch for about 5 years now. As of late, they have been screwing up. First it was 2-3 hour waits for a simple oil change, last time it was getting oil all over our Mil's car that we had just washed and took in for her to get service, last Friday 11/23/18 was a NIGHTMARE. We dropped my husband's car off at 9:45 am for a simple oil change and tire rotation. At 1:45 pm they called to say they couldn't get 3 lug nuts back on and it would be a bit of wait while they waited for them to arrive ( mind you, THREE car parts places are within a 1 mile radius and O'Reilly auto parts is DIRECTLY across the street). OK fine, whatever, we were together and didn't need the car anyway. Although they wanted to charge US for the lug nuts they stripped. Nope, not happening my friend. Anyway, at 4:45 right before closing, I called and said " we dropped our car off at 9:45 am and still had not heard if it was ready"? Their reply "ummm, no one called you"? Uh, NOPE that's why I am calling YOU. DUH! We head to pick up the car and they tell us there is no charge for the lug nuts and sorry for the wait blah blah And we leave. Here is where it gets REALLY scary.. Yesterday my husband and I were running errands ( first time driving his car since we picked it up Friday) and the rear starts making this horrible noise. We thought it was the U joint and drive to our local car service shop and left the car. They called us today to let us know that the DAMN TIRE WAS NOT PUT ON ALL THE WAY AND IT DID NOT HAVE THE LUG NUTS THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED!!!! The tire could have fallen OFF while we were driving, we could have gotten hurt, as well as anyone we may have crashed into! Needless to say, my husband got on the phone immediately to speak their manager This was careless and totally irresponsible and someone could have been seriously injured. I had been going to Fast Tire since they opened many years ago. I was taking our four family cars and two business trucks up there for service. However now that it is Car X, they just are not the same place ! Make sure you get a quote before they start working. I had my brakes done and when I went to pick up the car they tried charging me an extra $100 for them. Also they charged me $100 for two replacement bulbs that cost $10.95ea. Total rip off, I told them I didn't appreciate them screwing a veteran on memorial weekend !! They adjusted the brakes down, but did not give me the online coupon amount that I had. I have used them several times for alignments, rotations and fixing tires. I have not actually purchased tires there so will not comment on tire prices, but the other services are properly priced. They have a knowledgable staff, unlike the morons at NTB, and very eager to please. It does help to have a comfortable waiting room with wifi when I cannot drop off the car and really do not want to wander Wal-Mart for an hour. They are my go to tire/alignment shop. read more

Had to go here the first time today for a screw up that happened at Discount Tire. So happy to find a place open on Sunday for one and for two it was a simple thing of the nut on the valve stem not being tight. No charge!! They could have lied and said it was something and charged us because they knew we were desperate but they didn't. I wish we would have just went there to get tires in the first place. Stopped in to have them check a tire. Had a small nail in the tread. When roadside assistance took the tire off and put the spare on they let me know that the repair was very simple, no damage to the sidewall .However when I brought it here, they took a look at it called me and said unfortunately I would need a new tire because I had sidewall damage. I picked my car up and drove it to my Honda dealer. I should have done that first. They repaired the small nail hole in the tread confirmed there was nothing wrong with the sidewall and was also done for free. read more

Fast Tire has a great waiting area. Other than that I was extremely disappointed in the prices, the pressure to have additional work done, and the customer service. The customer service was by far the worst I have ever experienced having my car maintained. I had an 8:00 appointment for brakes and tires, and arrived promptly at that time. I also asked them to check the alignment of the car. I waited in the waiting room until about 9:30 and told the gentlemen at the service desk I was going to leave for a few hours to run some errands. He said the car would be ready in 2 hours. I arrived back at the shop at 1:00 and I was told there was a problem with the new brake drums, but the customer service rep. wasn't quite sure what the problem was. At about 2:00 he came to tell me the first new set of drums was warped and the second set of new brake drums were warped as well. He told me an expert machinist was working to cut the third set of drums so it would be a while until the car was ready. I decided to leave the car with them and have my friend drive me home and planned to pick it up the next day. As we were pulling out of the parking lot my car was pulling out right in front of me. I was surprised since I has assumed my car was being worked on. We followed my car out of curiosity to see where it was headed. It drove down the street about a mile, turned around, and went back to the shop. We assumed it must have just been a test drive and headed home. About 2:30 as we were almost home we received a call from Fast Tire telling us the car was ready to be picked up, but they decided not to do the alignment I had requested. At this point I was incredibly aggravated that I had wasted a full morning and part of the afternoon waiting for my car. When I went in to the shop to pick up the car, again I was hit with the pressure to have them do additional work. The customer service rep even wrote up a quote for more than $1300.00 of work and told me if I brought the car in to have the work done he would give me 10% off. I will not be returning to Fast Tire and I am surprised that anyone else would. I will give them credit for having the best waiting area I have ever seen anywhere, but if you go there plan on spending a lot of time there. read more

I had never been to this repair shop but decided to give it a try in a pinch as I had few options and needed repair quickly with little to no brakes. I'm very glad I did. The customer service was excellent with someone to greet me at the desk as soon as I walked in. Harley, my technician was considerate, interested & attentive. Waiting in the lounge area was easy enough since there are many comfy areas, tv, privacy, coffee etc to enjoy the short wait. They diagnosed the problem, showed me the leak and gave me an approximate cost. I asked them to check something else while they were at it since it was recent used vehicle purchase. A few hours later, my vehichle was ready AND, they kept it around the original quoted price & under the higher end cost it might have been. Since it was the brake line that was leaking, I had asked them check the pads, they could have taken that easy opportunity to replace the brakes with me non-the-wiser, but instead, chose to tell me the truth. The pads were fine. No need for me to dish out any more money. All around a great experience, attentive and pleasant with a reasonable price tag. Add to that they are trustworthy. Showroom is outstanding, They go out of thier way to get your car done as quickly as possible, and making sure it is right. I did have an issue from a previous visit that concerned me. When i called the manager, Rob told me to come in right away and they would get it in and look at it. When i walked in they grabbed my keys right away the car was in the building before the paperwork was filled out. I then had an answer within minutes. They pulled a code and i forgot to put my gas cap on. Cant say they are all that easy but the sense of urgency was amazing. read more

Went to get oil change had a coupon, no cars in bays, still waited half hour for car to be put in. Another customer came in put her car right in,did her car first then mine.
