Came home and saw that someone had backed into my beloved car at the grocery store, a hit and run. I was so bummed and disappointed that someone could just commit such an crime and not even have the decency to leave a note. I was crushed, hurt, just wondering why earth is such a bad place at times. The next day I got up and went on yelp. To search for a best auto body shop near me. This is where I found 818. I called and spoke with a kind gentleman by the name is Edwin, who I assume is the manager at the shop. I explained my situation to Edwin and told him I had to pay out of pocket since it was a hit and run and did not want my insurance premiums to go up. The next day I took my car in for an estimate. They were prompt, professional, and fair in pricing. All which are unusual qualities to find in the typical body shop. Two days later, Edwin called me, he advised me that since my tail light was cracked they could get me one directly from the manufacturer or I can find one off of the internet for a quarter of the price and bring the tail light in for them to install. I was taken aback, that a body shop manager would be so honest. I thanked him. A week after dropping my car off I was told it was ready for pick up. I went to 818 and the car was like new! My two week old car was keyed at the park, and I took it in to 818 to get a free estimate on fixing the scratch. The gentleman that came out to look at the scratch was nice enough, but politely blew his prognosis out of proportion. He told me that my only options were a full $850 removal and repaint of the panel at his shop, or for me to use a touch-up pen "if I really wanted to". I declined his services, and found a local touch-up guy to solve the problem. Despite 818 telling me "not to let anybody say they could touch it up or fix it", somebody else fixed it perfectly for $500 less than his quoted price. 818 might be fantastic if you've been in a accident and your repairs are covered under insurance, but that wasn't the case for me. read more

I chose this place since I frequent Handy J car wash next door and I always see expensive cars being repaired here. Edwin, the General Manager, helped me with an estimate for repairing bumper damage caused by another person (their insurance was paying for the repair). He was so friendly and helpful in explaining how the claims process works and letting me know what to do next. They were able to accommodate special requests and go beyond the basic necessary work. They were quick and had the car ready and washed when they said they would. The workmanship was fantastic and the bumpers looked like brand new. So I moved to LA exactly one year ago. I literally made a cross country trip with a battered bumper (all the way from Texas). Once I got here, it was time to get my car fixed. The hilarious thing is, someone rear-ended me about 8 months later so I took my Murano right back to them and they did a bang-up job (pun intended) once again. Someone had backed into my new car in a parking lot and it made my bumper slightly popped out on the side. It wasn't dented or scratched, but the notches on the inside had come detached. I knew I needed to get my new car fixed immediately. I looked on yelp and found 818 auto body, and saw the good reviews. So I thought I'd stop in and get an estimate... I walked in and was greeted by the receptionist, then helped immediately by Aaron. He was super helpful and friendly. He took a look at my car, called one of his guys over and he popped the bumper back in to place for me! for free!! I had tried it myself and couldn't get it back in. I had a little fender bender recently, got several competitive quotes and selected 818 Auto Body because Edwin, the service manager, was super nice and the shop is less than a mile from my house. Edwin ordered a rear bumper for me in advance so I didn't have to be without a car for any more time than absolutely necessary. The work was beautiful. I was rear-ended two weeks after the repair. Fortunately not enough damage to repair at this time but Edwin said to bring the car back and they'd buff the bumper for free. Mom had a repair recently and her experience was the same. Speedy service. Competitive pricing. Nice people including Debbie who gave her a ride home and Edwin, of course. I give these guys an A+ for trustworthiness and customer service. I had gotten rear-ended pretty hard while driving a big SUV. There was no apparent external damage, but you have to be careful. He was able to dropped my truck at the shop that evening even though they are closed. I was not wrong, this is by far one if the BEST experiences I have had with a body shop. When I came in Edwin had already been in touch with my insurance company and paperwork was printed and ready for me to review. He was so kind and informative. As he looked at my car, he told me exactly what he saw and what would need to be done in order to fix it. He even called Enterprise for me, which he did not have to do... The lines of communication where always open and I was never left in the dark. Not for one moment was I unsure of what the plan was. I cannot tell you how valuable that is when you work full time and are preparing to leave the state for the holidays. I got my car back this week and it looks beautiful.
