Absolute fucking trash ass shit. One of the worst places ive been to in my lifetime. This place would be on Gordon Ramsay's kitchen nightmares for the lack of service, slow kitchen, and disrespectful staff. One women made a mistake on an order and gave us a deep dish pizza instead of a regular and we thought they messed up, but we still ate it because we were waiting 2 hours. I usually don't comment but my past experience was one of the worst I've had from Carbone's. I ordered a simple Hot Hoagie with Roast Beef. The bread of the sandwich crumbled in my hands because it was so dry. The meat was pale and looked like shredded beef that was cooked 3 days ago. It was also so dry that I could barely chew it. The waitress brought me over some more mayo as well as vinaigrette that doesn't even belong on the sandwich. Normally at other locations there is garlic butter and just deli roast beef but that was missing. I was surprised that a fairly simple sandwich was done so poorly. Also, my son's pizza was off. The sauce was not your typical sauce from Carbone's. It lacked flavor. Very bland. I mentioned this to my dad who said the same thing when he ordered a pizza a few weeks back. I am signing up for Yelp just to post this review! I have been eating at Carbone's for years and years. I have always been warmly greeted when I go in and service is always top notch. I go in with the same group of people every time and get the same thing, and the staff remembers us every time we come in. The host is amazing, our waiter tonight (John) was fantastic. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. If you are looking for a hidden gem on the menu, I highly recommend the pizza sandwiches. They are like a thin crust calzone, or a thin crust pizza rolled up like a burrito. Very tasty, always hot, and filled with just about any pizza topping you can think of. I've ordered pizza from Carbone's before and I enjoy their food, but the service I received last night was horrible. I ordered a couple pizzas for delivery on a Friday night. After an hour and a half and no delivery, I called to see what happened. I spoke with one employee who then put me on hold and transferred me to another employee. That employee told me that they lost my order and never put it in. They would start my pizzas and send it over, but it would be another half hour. Seeing as it would have been over 2 hours from when I ordered to when I would get the food, and it was getting late and I needed to put the kids to bed, I told them to cancel the order and credit back my account. The response I got was that "I'll credit back your account. Sorry.", and then she hung up the phone without another word. It was incredibly rude. I called back after a minute to see why I was treated like that, and the two people I talked to acted like they didn't know they talked to me. It felt like they didn't care that they screwed up our dinner plans for the night. It's a shame that their service was so poor as like their pizza, but it would be hard to go back there again. read more

As far as Carbone's Pizza places go, this is best I have been to. Wonderful atmosphere with a log cabin feel that isn't "rustic". Hint: this is not a place for nice romantic date, unless you are 16 years old. Lots of families go here, so there may be a kid crying at the table next to you. While the pizza itself is only about 3 stars out of five, the good and friendly service combined with the great place make this at least 4 stars. Ditto to previous reviews as well! read more

Ordered take out from here. Used a coupon that I got in the mail. The person who took my card was not aware of the promotions they were running. They were hesitant honoring my coupon. Been eating Carbone's since I was a kid, and at this location as long as they have been open. The last change of ownership seemed to be the time everything changed for the worse. It doesn't' even taste like the same pizza! Hard to believe the crust is burnt black and the cheese in the center isn't completely melted. The manager said it wasn't burnt, and that was the way they cooked thin crust pizza...yikes! We tried 3 times because of our long history, all were terrible. but this was our last visit. They shouldn't be able to call themselves Carbone's read more

Very good food. Haven't really tried anything that wasn't good. Be prepared to wait...many times it takes quite a while to get your food.

I know someone who used to work here. They do not value their servers. If the kitchen messes up, the staff has to pay for any credits to the customer. The food here is mediocre. Had pizza and pasta. It's nothing I'd drive out of the way to get to. read more

I love Carbones! I grew up in West Saint Paul with one of the orginal restaurants and the food was always outstanding! However now I live a 1/4 mile from the Lexington location and cannot seem to get consistent good food. Since I have lived here (3 years) the restaurant has changed hands several times and the quality of the pizza is never the same. I just ordered a sausage pizza, out of 20 square slices, 9 slices had no sausage. I paid $21 for this pizza! Seriously? Carbones you need to hold your franchaise locations to a certain standard. This Lexington location does not hold this standard. I will no longer patronize this location. read more

Under new ownership first of all. Been going here for years and my last experience was unforgivable and the service in the past was always good. Took about 10 min before the waitress came to the table after we sat down and it wasn't busy at all and waitresses were all over the place. Took our order. Came back with my tap beer and the mug had dirt in it. I asked the waitress to "please" bring me another beer. She took it back to the bar and then brought the beer back out, put it on the table and said the bartender said there was no dirt it the mug. There clearly was. That was the last we saw of the waitress. 20 min later, no food, no refresh of drinks and I wasn't touching that dirty beer mug in front of me. Asked a group of young waitresses hiding in the back to get my waitress. At that point she finally came to the table. Told her to take the food off the bill and I'll pay for the 2 beers we ordered. She got the manager and she came over and apologized for the service that was poorly provided and she paid for our beers and cancelled our food order. I am glad that she did because I probably would have not been as understanding for the terrible service. Sure, the young girls in their cute little shorts hiding in the back room look nice, but the way they serve the customer is an inconvenience. We went to El Loro and had no complaints. This place is great!. We've eaten there once and had takout once. Our first experience was with their pizza. It was new to our family of 7 and my sis-in-laws family of 6. Everyone, 18mo-35 yrs. thought it was great. Especially the thin crust and chicken Martguerita pizza. Our dine in experience was when I took my 11 yr. old daughter there for dinner. The dishes were so tasty we wanted to lick the bowl clean. She ordered the cheese ravioli with red sauce and I had a Cajun chicken dish. The dining room and bar felt small for the size of the building, but it was cozy. The waitstaff and greeters were fantastic. They made it a great experience. We recommend going there to our friends and family. You will not be disappointed. read more

I've ordered from these guys before, and maybe it's just because it was close to closing, but it was pretty disappointing in comparison to the other times. I ordered the Cajun Burger and an order of fries with extra cajun mayo on the side. When it got here they didn't follow my delivery request (people were sleeping and they rung the doorbell when I asked them not to). What a great place for family pizza night! Clean, friendly and fabulous food. The atmosphere is really lovely with a cabin up north feel. We sat right in front of a cozy fireplace and loved every minute of our meal. This is more than a pizza place, the menu had a wide variety of options that even my pickiest eater had an easy time finding plenty to order. Waited almost an hour for our Pizza. We were served a beer and put our order in at the same time. We did not see the Server for again for 45 minutes. We were told it would be 2-3 minutes for our pizza. 10 minutes later she told us the kitchen screwed up and our pizza would be comp'd. We finally got our pizza and it wasn't even the right toppings. From American to Italian cuisine, they have it all. The garlic cheese bread and amazing marinara sauce is delicious! My husband loves the pizza, I love the pizza too, but I get the grilled chicken sandwich (so we can take some zah home) and our daughter gets their very tasty burger. Fries are super too!
