When we walked in on a Tuesday night, we were warmly greeted by the assorted. It was kid's way free from 4-8pm. The restaurant was lively with families and other guests eating and dining. I really like the different options of pizza and other entrees available. Everything is rotated out in a timely manner when platters are empty, and there were employees walking around taking plates and clearing off tables when patrons were done. Overall, this is a great place to bring a family. I'm only taking one star off just because my Mac n cheese pizza was a little bland, but everything else tasted fresh and delicious. read more

We recently visited this location and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff is so friendly here and the chicken was fresh and not over fried or left setting for to long. We were asked if there was a special pizza we would like to have. They really spoiled us. I am shocked to see how low the reviews for this place are! This is actually one of the coolest Pizza Ranch's I have been too since it has a very fun arcade as well! The food here is not top quality but it not horrible either. The fried chicken is some of the best for sure! The pizza is decent but not top notch. The service is very accommodating and will make any type of pizza you want if it is not already out. I highly recommend the taco pizza, bacon chicken and ranch, and the Mac and cheese pizza as I think those the the best! The prices are good for what you get and I never leave hungry! The service here is fantastic and everyone is always friendly! People are always cleaning and the restaurant was in good shape! This place has an arcade my kids really enjoyed it! It's okay. Not the worst, not the best. Lots of grease on the pizza because they use inexpensive full fat cheese. Not the best if you're either watching your cholesterol or girth. We ordered online using Yelp which routed us over to Grubhub, who sent a confirming text saying we'd hear from Pizza Ranch when the pizza was ready for pickup - about 30 to 40 minutes. After one hour no call. I had to finally drive over to Pizza Ranch and ask what happened. The pizza had been done for quite some time, they just forgot to call. If you like Pizza Ranch it's better to just call your order in - forget GrubHub. Besides, you save paying the $1.50 or so convenience fee. read more

Pizza Ranch is a solid 3 - a good place to fill up if you have some hungry kiddos. I finally tried out Pizza Ranch. I think they can best be described as an Old Country Buffet for pizza. The whole place has a cowboy theme. I literally tried every kind of pizza. It was all pretty bland, doughy, and boring. On the other hand, you can add a couple of condiments like red sauce and dried red peppers to spice things up. I tried a couple of the dinner items and salad items. Again, kinda boring and bland. My favorite, hands down, was the dessert pizza area. A couple of them, like the apple and the blueberry, were genuinely really good. They brought out a fresh chocolate pizza for a table but then ran back in the kitchen with it - weird - bummer. They also have a soft serve ice cream machine but no toppings for it. Again - okay - but pretty boring. I didn't see any adult staff. It was a bunch of high schoolers running things. But they were really good about busing tables and keeping the hot tables stocked with food. I probably won't be back. Pizza is one of my favorite foods. Usually, I go to Cici's when in parts of the country that have them. Otherwise, I like giving Pizza Ranch business because they are a Christian-based company with Christian music playing in the background. Recently I ate at the Champlin location since it's the closest to where I'm currently staying. As usual, the food was good but problems came up. It took over a half hour to receive a vegetarian pizza I ordered even though it wasn't that busy. Two employees apologized for the mix-up and thanked me for my patience. I also had to put up with a screaming toddler the father allowed to walk around the place. Hopefully, my next visit to Pizza Ranch will be a more pleasant experience. read more

Pizza ranches buffet is always a safe bet for lunch! A variety of pizzas complete with stuffed crust pizza, the basics, more creative fun flavors and cactus bread.They also have a great variety for the salad bar and also have some good other food that involves solid mash potato and good biscuits and gravy. Their pizza is one of my favorites!! However, the only down fall is that they run out of pizza quickly if it's busy. It also can take a while to get a pizza out. You also have no control on what kinds they are cooked. I personally love the Taco Pizza and it never appeared on the table. They did rotate the dessert cactus bread very often. This place is getting better every time our family meets here. Clean, fresh and hot food. They will make any kind of pizza you ask for and bring it to your table and serve it to you. We always have a large group, we get the buffet, so it's really nice to not have to go up for another trip to the pizza bar. The staff has always been very nice. A buffet/pizza/chicken place. Its a little odd to have pizza with a cowboy theme, but the chain got its start in the plains of the US (SD I think), so I won't judge too much. The pizza is edible, but not fabulous, although they do have some good flavor combinations and specials. The crust is my biggest complaint--I'm not sure if its frozen from a food service, but they certainly have made it look and taste that way. As long as you can accept that the crust is just an edible vessel for the toppings, you'll be fine. I like the BBQ chicken pizza, and the kids enjoy the Mac and Cheese Pizza. The highlight of the menu is the fried chicken. Some of the best available in our area. The batter is thin and crispy, with just enough salt and seasoning. I have been to this location several times, and each time I have really enjoyed the food and friendliness of the people. I really like how I could put in a personal order for pizza that I want. It seems to me that they have the best fried chicken in town, and that I could get my fill alone on it. Of course their pizza has no other rival or so it seems. I am loving this place a little less and less since my last review. Not sure if the novelty has simply worn out, or if the food is actually getting lower in quality. The prices have definitely increased, although under $25 for 2 adults is not terrible. (Still we may be trying the $13.99 Godfathers for 2 buffet coupon in the near future). My absolute #1 complaint, however, is much more recent. We had chicken there at the buffet last weekend and it was bloody. Not just a speck of blood or one piece of chicken, but what looked like cut veins in two separate pieces. Needless to say I didn't try a third. I asked my husband if we should tell a staff member but he said not to bother since it is a buffet. Always wonderful employees and a great atmosphere though, so I still give this place 3 stars. I am a Pizza Ranch vet. I rate Waconia and Monticello as the best, although it has been a few years since I have been to Waconia. The new Champlin PR is fine, but not quite on par with my experiences elsewhere. I went twice the first week it opened, including its first day in business. I had lunch on opening day. The pizza was OK, and they had a decent salad bar. The chicken and potatoes were decent, but overall I just didn't have that same great feeling I get from an outstanding PR. I'd say it deserves 3.5 stars out of the gate, and hopefully their pizza offerings will dazzle me more next time I dine there. read more

Lackluster. Went there for lunch, the pizzas are cafeteria level. Seriously, they do not compare at all to any major pizza chain, just bland. For a $1.50, I can get a far superior pizza slice (and pop) at Costco. Also tried the fried chicken. At least they were hot, but again not to the level of any major chicken chain ( KFC or Popeyes). And at $13 for lunch, not necessarily cheap either. There are far better buffets with bigger selections out there, and if you want a real pizza, plenty of better alternatives. Not excited about my experience. Called ahead to find out if they have a kids eat free night like the other locations. They said yes, Tuesday evening. I asked them the age for kids and they said 10 and under. Went there on Tuesday night. Two adults and 2 kids (so I thought). The person at the register told me that even though kids are usually 10 and under at their place, kids free night was only for 8 and under (didn't matter to her either that I was given different information on the phone) Also, the pizza was at most so-so.
