Brought in my old GBA SP which had a busted screen, I've watched videos on how to fix it, but wanted to also swap out the shell. So after countless videos of people saying the trickest part is the hinges, I figured it was best left for the professionals. I also wanted to mod the GBA SP charging port to a USB-C but with Eli's insight, replacing the screen with an IPS and upgrade to USB-C it would probably be better to just buy an entirely new Modded GBA SP. So I just stuck with the shell swap and new IPS screen. We ordered the parts from Ebay as he showed me what was available on 3/28/2026 and called me 4/9/2026 to let me know it was ready for pick up so roughly a 3 week turn around since he had to wait for the parts to be delivered. Finally had it back in my hands and it was beautiful, 15 settings on the brightness and it opened and close with those satisfying clicks the OEM came in. Couldn't be happier, I will say the buttons do rotate when I'm gaming a little too hard, but nothing like rotating them back into their place fixes it. As for the shop itself, BEAUTIFULY CLEAN, it's spotless and they really make this place feel like gamer heaven. All the games in the store were in their respective locations and you had no issues finding what you wanted. (Unless it was in a container with no label)

As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted. They asked if I was looking for anything and was shown to the card sleeve section. I've been to multiple stores that specialize in cards. Lol I met Anna(?) or Ann, and customer service was amazing, gave all information I was asking for, and showed me the weekly schedule. I am more of a mega competitive player (but not a sore winner ;-)), so I wanted to know what their schedule looked like, what is their most supported game, etc. I believe this is a more chill, casual, friendlies kind of vibe (not a bad thing at all), and I'd be open to doing more drafts or pre-release kits or something. Hoping to bring in my coworkers and friends! I can tell that they care very much about making sure they can support their community and create an inclusive and healthy space. I think the records were only about $5 each. (The button was $2.98 lol). Don't be thrown off by the worn down strip mall it's located in. Another bonus is the Community Center and Bascom library is situated just next door (on the other side).

I asked an employee if they carried any Batman Beyond, but they didn't. (He was really nice and said he wished they carried more of it though!) This specific location of Legends has a very limited comic/manga selection and no back issues. If you're looking for comics, I recommend going to the Legends location at Eastridge Mall, which has a better selection of trade paperbacks, back issues, and current issues. This Valley Faire location sells mostly trading cards, collectibles/statues/figurines, Funkos, and board games. Overall, I still like coming here even though I don't always buy something! I always come back to look around at new items when I find myself in the Valley Faire area.

This time, I was looking for a card for my baby cousin, but I will not be returning to the new location after my experience today. I walked in and was completely ignored, albeit it is standard for a deadbeat college student not to give a fuck. My main problem was when I threw my trash into the trash can, like most people would. Twenty minutes later, while I was browsing all the pretty cards, the worker came up to me to say that the trash can is not for consumables and shoved it back into my hand in the rudest way possible. That being said, I do understand that they don't give a fuck. They're just there to make ends meet and want to continue the banter with the coworker who was allegedly an hour late. To be quite honest, I usually just take rude interactions and move on with my life, because life would be miserable if everyone started pointing fingers. It would just start a game of he said, she said, and I would rather keep the peace, but this experience just has to be heard. It was unprofessional, rude, and lazy. If your staff is more interested in gossiping than serving customers, you have a serious training and management problem at this new location. Realistically, nobody important is going to give a fuck, since people just come and go in most places, but for this experience, I just thought I'd let my thoughts be heard. The games were durable and held up for the event. Even though we were stalled on booking our games (due to the Venue needed to help with the layout), Luiza was still openly optimistic about helping us and in the end we got all the games we wanted. We opted for Ring Toss, Giant Checkers and Clowning Around (Bean Bag Target type of game - see photo). Except for the Giant Checkers, the prices are fairly reasonable. Please note that someone else may think that the price was reasonable...it's all subjective. Here's What I Think.... They have a ton of games from which to choose. If you're in the market for arcade/carnival type games, please give them a try.
