Love love love this place! Stopped in on our way to the Smokies for breakfast and coffee and I'm so glad we did! The staff is so friendly and helped us decide what to get. I got a French toast bagel and an iced maple spice latte which was AMAZING. My friend got the golden latte and loved it. Their food selection is pretty limited - just bagels and some pastries - but there is an extensive coffee and smoothie menu. Their logo is really neat (we got a couple stickers!) and the atmosphere of the shop is welcoming and unique. The perfect place to sit and work on a laptop or for friendly conversation with the locals. They also sell local goods like chocolate, honey, and bagged coffee. Highly recommend. Will definitely be stopping here the next time I'm in the area! read more

We've been coming to Bryson City for years and we always look forward to a coffee stop at Cardinal on our way to the NOC. This last time we received the worst service ever from two young associates who seemed to believe their existence is doing us a favor. We walked in and the place was empty but for two customers already drinking their beverages. The ginger barista couldn't even stop whatever it was that she was doing to say hello and then walked over to the register and stared at us without saying hello, as if her glare was our cue to speak. After she used her bare fingers to level the espresso for our drinks, several other customers walked in and left without even receiving a glance or hello. This is a small town and most of us are in fact tourists, but do better. On top of it all, our drinks were lukewarm and weak at best. If you can't manage to say hello and make a decent cup of coffee while working at a coffee shop ... well I weep for your future. read more

We go out of our way to support local small businesses. The coffee, other beverages and service aren't anything memorable. We have stopped at Cardinal Coffee multiple times on the way to and from Virginia. This was our last stop. We spent $30 something for 5 beverages. Note: The smoothies aren't even made with fruit. When we asked for three cups of ice water they told us that we owed $3.21 for three tap waters. There is no reason that they should charge $1 a cup for tap water. We are small business owners and truly value our customers. This is not any way to show appreciation to people that support your business. read more

The store is very cute and there is a lot of options for coffee flavors and types (espresso, cold brew, etc.). The bagels are flavorless though. We got the French toast and cinnamon apple, both just tasted like plain bagels. read more

Brand new place with lots of heart. Open during the off season while many places along RT 74 were closed. These gals got it going on!

My beau and I stopped here every day to pick up a cold brew with almond milk and sf vanilla for me and a blueberry banana smoothie for him. The smoothies are amazing, very fresh!
