They explained to me that my payoff as I saw it was not my payoff if they purchased it for me it would be less as they didn't have to include taxes etc. I thought my payoff was $18k and once they logged into my finance company it was actually $16,7 They offered me $16,4 so I only had to come out of pocket $300 to get rid of a car. Amazing deal I did not end up going that route because the Cadillac dealer offered me another $100 so I walked away from the car only paying $200. If I waited to turn the car in after end of lease I would have owed one more $600 car payment plus $2800 because I was 14,000 over mileage plus a down payment for the new car. I spoke with Jake and sent photos of my car, clearly explaining its condition: cold A/C (recently replaced condenser and valve), good cosmetic shape with minor dents, and no warning lights. I was told I'd be around $4K +/- depending on condition. After taking the time to go through the process, I was then told the car was not in good condition and was offered only $1,400 for a 2018 Nissan Versa with under 76k miles. I had never heard of this business, which is across the street from CarMax, before. It was only because of the line of sign-holding guys calling people into their location that I pulled into their parking lot. I was very skeptical at first (so I read some Yelp reviews before going in!), but being unsatisfied with the offer I got from CarMax, and knowing I had a great offer from Carvana (who was scheduled to come to my house later in the week), I figured it couldn't hurt to let them take a look at my car. I was helped by Ashley at the desk, who was extremely friendly and who explained that they had been there for about 10 years. Martin took a look at my car while I sat in their office waiting room, and that was a quick process. His offer was more than CarMax's off the bat. After some negotiation, we ended up being extremely close to Carvana's offer, and I felt great about making the transaction. The transaction was the easiest part. Ashley came in to the room with a couple of documents for me to sign and handed me a check. I made a mobile deposit on the way home and the money was in my account the next day. I was serious about selling my car that day--so I had gotten a car wash (not sure if that was necessary ‍), cleaned it out completely, brought all of the keys, and had the title with me. I did forget to take my transponders off my windshield and called there right away. Ashley was great and put them in an envelope for me. If you realize you've forgotten something, call them immediately, because when I got there the next morning to pick up the envelope, the car was already off their lot. I had a great experience. Went in today they were very friendly. Made a deal that I thought was fair, I had my wife come down with my daughter to come and pick me up and that's where the experience turned for the worst. I endorsed the check incorrectly and asked them to re-issue me a new check. Yes, I understand this was my mistake but I didn't think it would become this big of an issue. From that point, it was a dismal situation. I was told I would have to go to the bank on Monday and try to deposit the check. I stated that would be a waste of my time as the endorsement was wrong and I needed them to reissue the check. Furthermore, I was told that the finance manager suspected that I was trying to commit fraud. This was relayed by one of the associates on-site. I stated that I was confused as they have my driver's license, video of me on camera, my social, my bank account number, my member number with my bank, description of my wife, daughter, plate number, power of attorney, possession of my car, not to mention accounts are FDIC insured...... Etc. I was told my only options were to cancel the deal or go to the bank on Monday with the check they gave me. I chose to cancel the deal. When I asked to watch them shred the original sales documents they were taken behind a wall for destruction . I stated that I wanted to see them shred the documents and review them first. When presented with the paperwork I asked them to destroy I was presented with the copies and not the originals. I asked again for the originals and they gave them to me. Car drop thank you for wasting my time I will never be able to get that back. The silver lining is I called algonation.com when I was leaving and they gave me 400.00 more then what I was being offered including the 95.00 service fee algo charges. So if you read this and get to the bottom save yourself the time and frustration and not go to this establishment there are other people that will treat you with respect, not accuse you of trying to defraud them( this was my major issue as they were attacking my integrity) and pay you more. read more

Seller beware! I was given an estimate in writing but realized I could not purchase the car I wanted because of supply chain issues. I came back about 10 months later as I was hoping the car I ordered would come in soon and their price dropped $500...I kinda expected this and did not have issue with it. They did not reinspect my car at this time. After another 7 months passed I decided to stop waiting on the car I ordered and decided to purchase a different vehicle so I stopped in to see what the CarDrop price would be so I could determine if I would trade in my car or sell it to CarDrop. They asked when I thought I would be purchasing my new car and I said either that evening or the next day. I was given a verbal price. I purchased my new car that night and brought CarDrop my used car the next day and at this moment they reinspected the car and offered me $1,000 less than what they told me the day before. The ole' bait and switch! Nothing had changed with my car except the passing of time and the increased mileage. They were aware of these details when they gave me the verbal quote and I had no reason to think their "official" price would change from what they told me the day before. The moral of this story, don't take your car in for an estimate until you are really ready to sell it...and if you need to bring it in a second (or third time) you cannot trust their estimate unless they test drive it and give you a WRITTEN quote. read more

Thank you to Chris and the team at CarDrop for a great experience. It was time to move on from my excellent 2012 Honda CR-V EX-L. I went to CarMax across the street first, where I waited about 45 minutes for a quote. The offer was not terrible, but it wasn't great either (nearly 10% below median KBB trade value). I was honest with them that the offer was quite a bit below what I still owed. With CarMax, there was no room to move. The offer was the offer...he even told me I could pay cashier's check, debit, or cash for the difference! So, I went across the way to CarDrop. I handed them the CarMax offer. After about 15 minutes, they came back and gave me an offer $400 (about +3.6%) more than CarMax. It was still $350 or so below what I owed. I explained the situation. They called the bank for a firm payoff amount. CarDrop then agreed to a price that would exactly pay off the outstanding loan, so long as I sold today. I agreed. The whole process took maybe 45 minutes. They handed me my license plate and put me in an Uber they paid for back to my house! In the end, CarDrop was able to do +6.8% over CarMax's ballpark offer. From a service perspective, they bested CarMax by 100%. I got out even money, and CarDrop got a great CR-V to recondition and sell. Deal done. I'm happy. And you should strongly consider doing a deal with CarDrop in Boynton Beach next time you need to unload a vehicle. Kudos to Chris and the CarDrop team. read more
