I took my minivan to fix an oil leak and gas smell in the cabin. The gas smell was fixed after two trips ( the first time, they didn't install the part properly). They never fixed the oil leak. I have went back 4 or 5 times. After more than $2500 worth for labor and parts, It was still leaking oil. I will never take a car to them again. read more

Made an appointment for 11:15 to get an Oil Change, Filter and Tire Rotation as described on their Coupon. Pay Pal already deposited the money in their account (according to Pay Pal). Upon entering, Masks were required but very few were wearing them. The Man at the front desk told me "They Don't Take Reservations" unless early in the morning and "They did not receive any money from Pay Pal" a definite lie according to pay pal. He told me he could squeeze me in 2-21.2 hours if I wanted to wait. Obviously, their website is a scam to get you in and making appointments on the website is another one. I started using Tilden last year for my oil changes, and they always did a good job, I knew I had a small oil leak and decided to get a diagnosis ...they said it was simple, like the gasket around the lid...so I got it replaced as suggested.. I waited to see if the leak had stopped by the oil on my carport..and it still exists , so I decided to go under the hood to check my oil, and could not because, the mechanic broke the handle on my oil stick and I couldn't get it out..had to call my son in law for assistance, I have no respect, for the guy who service my car & broke something simple like an oil stick handle and would not replace it..let along I still have the oil leak...I will not be returning to them ... read more

Sigh. Vehicles get old. Whether it's here or elsewhere, always take your car to a car care center rather than a dealership when it comes to having major work done. You could end up saving hundreds or even (yikes!) thousands when the job is completed. Sadly, it's reality and the visit was pleasant. The staff recommended what needed to be done or what can wait. I plan to have my car until it dies because a car payment sucks. Only time will tell what I'm going to have to have done next to keep the pony reliable. The guys took care of my car needs in about an hour on a busy Friday morning! Granted I didn't have a major issue, or one they had to find. I knew exactly what I needed and told them precisely what I wanted done. They got straight to it and got me on my way! Also, the internet coupon helped cover the cost of the service at about half the price. That's money in the bank. And my car runs great again. So on a separate visit, I took my car in to have my brakes done 'cause i was hearing a seriously nasty squeal emanating from one of my wheel wells. Not only did they not fix the squeal but they also claimed that it was coming from my front brakes, which had a jammed brake piston - so naturally i had them replace the pair. All in, I paid a hefty sum to replace my front brakes hardware, only to still have the squeal, and Im $500 lighter for my new front brake hardware, which im wondering if i actually needed. So.....you be the judge of my two situations... I don't like paying for work that doesn't fix my problem I'm coming to see them for. read more

State Closes Ted Russo's Auto Shop for Defrauding Customers Ted Russo's FL mug shots Arrest.com October 30, 1996 Sun Sentinel State regulators shut down Theodora Russo's DynoTech Automotive Inc. of West Palm Beach on Tuesday, saying the auto repair shop defrauded consumers by making unnecessary repairs. The action resulted from a six-month sting operation in which investigators took three fully operational cars to DynoTech. In each case, they were told the cars needed air-conditioning repairs, said Terence McElroy, spokesman for the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The state's consumer watchdogs have filed only four criminal cases against auto repair shops in the past 18 months. They typically press for civil remedies. Not this time. "It's the level of egregiousness," McElroy said, explaining the state's tougher stance. "If someone does shoddy work or plays fast and loose with an estimate, we push for fines or to pull the license. But if someone out-and-out defrauds people, claiming they need work when they don't, that's a crime." DynoTech owner Ted Russo, however, said the state's documentation showed the cars needed repairs. "There were things we made wrong with their cars and we fixed them. All the services we recommended were necessary" he said. State and county officials have received 16 consumer complaints against Ted Russo and DynoTech since 1993, among them a resident of West Palm Beach. DynoTech repaired their car twice in late 1995, but when the engine blew up shortly thereafter, they had state and county inspectors assess the shop's work. They concluded Ted Russo and DynoTech had charged her for parts never put into the car. Russo said he offered a refund. However, the offer covered only the missing parts. Theodore Russo is now hiding out as the owner of Tilden Car Care Royal Palm Beach Blvd, RPB, FL. Still he does this and he just gets away with it. Have taken my car there several times and my husband's Mercedes. These guys are GREAT! They fix what is broken and nothing more. They are HONEST and they do a great job. My car was overheating and I wasn't sure why. It was a sensor. They charged me for the diagnostic and to fix the sensor and for an oil change (I was overdue)! Total 350.00! They could have said it was a fan or a belt or the whole cooling system. They did say my front brakes are low so I will be getting that done in a few weeks at Tildens. Thanx guys! read more

I have been taking my car and my son's truck to Tilden for years because I trust them. They never over charge me, they always tell me what can wait and what should not wait. They even taught me how to change out some fuses that blew so I could do it myself instead of paying them or anyone else to do it. The owner isn't' cranky, he's gruff but Mark works the front desk and he is always pleasant. I trust these guys and in south Florida that's a rare find. read more
