I found myself at Lloyd's this morning because I woke up and my tire was flat. I was lucky enough to have a device which fills up my tire while I was on my driveway. I was able to drive to Lloyd's and within five minutes, he patched my tire as he took out a very small screw. I just couldn't believe it only took him five minutes. I guess I came in at the right time. It only cost me $25 and I was on the road again doing my errands. This is the fourth time in four years that I needed to patch my tires. It's unbelievable how many screws and nails are left on the streets here in this area. I told him he cannot retire and he said he can't so I guess I'll be using Lloyd's again in the future. read more

For many years I've had my Mercedes(s) serviced by the dealer. Their prices have doubled in the last 2 years, so I'm done with them. Recently went to a "high end" repair shop in Delray/Boca that tried to convince me I needed a $1,700 brake job. It was not true. So, I've been looking for an honest service place. I don't mind paying, as long as I get a fair shake. A couple of my neighbors had good experiences at Lloyd's and I decided to give them a try. There were 3 items to do. I figured I'd spend a few hundred dollars. My bill was $45. They did not charge for 2 things, which they easily could have. The rubber seal at the top of my windshield on our 2008 Audi TT came loose thereby letting air in and creating a wind tunnel effect. Eric solved the problem by reinserting the seal. So glad I took my car to Lloyd's. Recommend them highly. read more

My father and I own two Hyundai cars and had the exact same problem of oil leaking from the engine two months apart. The first time they claimed they couldn't find the leak, and charged us for an oil change. The second time they said the same thing, and when my father mentioned another shop fixed the same issue with no problem, they were extremely rude and hostile and yelled at my father. if you don't know the owner personally, own a fancy car, or aren't going for a simple job like an oil or tire change, they will more than likely turn you down and charge you for walking in the front door. Looks like the cellphone tower stuck in their back yard is more important than the customers they get in their front yard. read more

If you need a simple repair or service accomplished, Lloyd's is an average shop. An oil change or a tire replacement is just what they seem to want to do. The prices are average too. The problem I had is when I brought my car in to have an oil leak located and fixed, and to have the oil changed. They were glad to take my $80 for the oil change, but said they could not find where the leak came from. (So there goes the new oil!) This was the second car in 2 months that I brought in for this purpose. I had to take that 1st car to a mechanic I trusted, but was much further away, to find out it was simply the valve cover gasket. I tried to tell Lloyd this, but he interrupted me and started yelling, "I already told you, I can't find the leak!' This falls right in line with what the other reviews say about the rudeness of this place. I have never been spoken to like this buy a mechanic. Lloyd must think he is something! In my opinion, after so many years in the business, he knew exactly where the leak was, but didn't want to be bothered with doing the work. If he didn't know, why would I ever trust them to do an oil change, even if I went back for the abuse. They have a nice cell tower on their property, and I think they make enough off the leases from it, that they don't need to do hard jobs they don't want. So, they won't ever get any more of my money, and I caution others to be aware of this establishment's attitude. read more

I took my dad's car in to resolve a windshield washer issue. Unfortunately, the problem was not resolved and when I took it back the next day, asked if maybe something was missed, so we can fix it properly. I was spoken to so rudely that "life's too short, I don't want to argue, etc. etc." He stormed off to get the gentleman that worked on the car, who was kind and explained that maybe the pump was in need of replacement. I called about my car not starting the guy answering the phone yelled at me to hold on, I asked him about getting my car towed to the store and if they were able to look at it. He yells at me to hold on puts the phone down and says to someone I'm trying to get this f*ing annoying woman off the phone and then picks the phone back up tells me to call someone called Mike and hung up on me. After running over a construction cone at night on i95 with a 65 mph (cars behind me and on both sides) speed limit, I'm lucky we weren't hurt or stranded in the middle of the highway. I posted on Facebook asking for referrals. A friend recommended Lloyd's Automotive Service and I'm glad she did. Major damage to the car. Wheel base and front bumper cracked. Both fog lights broken. Lloyd was great. Reassured me. Called a car rental place and drive me there. I filed a claim with our insurance company and Lloyd dealt directly with them uploading pictures of the damage. After the parts came in, the work was done in less than a week. The car looks great! Beautiful work. Lloyd was up-tone and calming to me. I highly recommend him. Honest and knowledgeable! A few months ago, I was driving with my children during the pouring rain when my lights came on and one of my Tires starting leaking air. I called them and they were closing but the owner offered to stay open for me! He filled it with air, we discussed that I had tire insurance through my dealership, and he got me through the night until I could bring it the next day. Lloyd's helped me repaint and fix my side mirror. I went in for an estimate. They were nice, respectful, and gave me a true estimate. The guy I talked to told me he could repaint the part of my mirror for $60. He also fixed the black part surrounding my mirror for free. He told me to come back the following Wednesday and when I came back they fixed in the time hey promised and charged me the $60 quoted. No hassle, no up charges. Before I stopped at Lloyd's I went to another place down the street for an estimate ( I had passed Lloyd's by accident and thought 2 estimates would be a good idea). They wanted to charge me $500 for the same job! I would go back to Lloyd's any day. They treated me with respect and not just as a "girl" they were trying to rip off. I left a seriously very thorough review on Google. I'm going to give you the short review. All they had to do was give me new brakes and rotors and they quoted me $300. Everything seemed OK , until I went to Costco for new tires . The rear lug nut was cross threaded and had to be broken off in order to change the tire. A week later I brought it in to my dealership because my brakes just never felt great didn't feel like they were new like they were supposed to be, and they were covered in rust. Turns out I never even got new rotors all I got was pads. The thin cheap kind, and instead of giving me the new rotors I was charged for, or even cutting them, it turns out that one was completely warped and distorted and needed replacing. I had 2 ASC certified mechanics told me that their brake parts were cheap, and the rotors were original not installed new as lloyd charged me for . Not only was out the $300 they charged me, I also had to pay for new brake pads and have the rotors cut 270.00. and on top of everything else $130 to take out and replace the lug nut that they stripped. They were jerks over the phone and they're mean and nasty in person. My father use these guys for a long time he's rolling over in his grave right now. read more

I have used Lloyds in the past and all was good. My dad used them for over 20 years. NEVER AGAIN!!! I brought my car in last week and explained what the issue was. They told me that unless any warning lights are on there is nothing they can do. They told me they drove the car and hooked it up to some machine and there were no problems. Meanwhile, the car has no pep, and it jerks when I go at a high speed, then slow down and accelarate, and also it shakes terribly when stopped at a light. I took it back today and they told me again that unless any warning lights are on, there is nothing they can do. The car has 104,000 miles with original spark plugs, as well as other original parts ( wires, coils, etc ). Not only were they incredibly rude, but they refused to even look at it. They would rather me break down and possibly get into an accident, then do a diagnostic check. I thought mechanics have the knowledge to diagnose problems but apparently, they leave that to the computers. Talk about dumbing down America - Lloyds demonstrated that to be true. The biggest issue was how they communicated with me. The most rude service I have ever received, I will be sharing my story with everyone I know, and I know a lot of people in the area. Do yourself a favor and NEVER GO TO LLOYDS! read more

Being new to the area and needing a minor car repair I noticed several mentions on a neighborhood site regarding to "Lloyd's Auto Repair" at W. Atlantic Ave and Lyons Rd. What attracted me was one of the comments that Lloyd's did things the "old fashioned way." I am mechanically inclined but in this instance didn't have the jointed tool needed to accomplish an otherwise easy, 10 minute (max) operation......one bolt. Having already purchased the small part I presented it to the man at the counter and asked him how much he would charge me to install the $13 part. He asked for the car information and said, "I'll be right back." He disappeared momentarily, came back and said, "One hour, $100." I pointed out that the installation required one bolt at the back and top of the engine. He didn't say, "Okay, let me take a look at it" or anything along those lines. He simply said, "Sorry, that's what the computer says" and nonchalantly went back to what he had been doing. Apparently, whether it takes a few minutes up to an hour it's still going to cost you the same amount, $100. So much for "old fashioned." This was no different than going to a high tech dealership. Don't be fooled that Lloyd's Automotive is your friendly auto mechanic. Oh, and yes, I went and bought the tool I needed and completed the repair in 15 minutes. Shouldn't have wasted my time with Lloyd. read more

Lloyd's is the most professional automotive servicer I have ever been too. They are honest, friendly, fair in their pricing and treat their customers with respect. I haven't had a single thing to complain about since I have started going there. When my car blew a fuse on a Friday evening right before closing, I called them and they gave me 2 for no charge so I could at least still use the car over the weekend. I also took my car in because of a check engine light and after not finding anything they called me to pick up the car with no charge. These small things are what separates Lloyd's from the rest.
