The sauce was so good and flavorful. For drinks I got the lychee bloom. From first sip, I was a huge fan. Sweet and didn't lack any lychee taste. The presentation was also beautiful. My husband ordered the Philosopher's rum which he really enjoyed. The bartender was also trying out a new recipe of a key lime cocktail which is one of my husbands favorites. He loved the cocktail so much he ordered a second. We already frequent Chinatown, but this will definitely be added to our regular rotation. But let's get straight to the issue- the HOSPITALITY! I don't like being negative- I want local businesses to thrive and reach more people, but I need to add this bit of criticism- Lately, coming here feels like you're rolling the dice- and going out to eat and being treated well shouldn't have to feel like a gamble. When I dine here, I don't feel welcome. The bartenders make it clear that they cater to some regulars more than others. It takes the bartender half an hour to get us started with drinks and a menu to look at the food. It's crazy- I come here so often know some of this establishment's staff by name now and yet, I'm met with this recent disservice- The other night I arrive here with my girlfriend to grab some food around 1 am. I see the bartender, Ryan, zooming around, refilling beer and shots, going in and out of the kitchen. It's not that busy of a Friday night- maybe a handful of couples and groups all sitting at the bar. He passed SEVERAL times by me, no acknowledgement, no "Hey, bear with me, I'll be right with ya." 1:30. He finally comes to us apologizing, gets us started on drinks and hands us the menu. We take a couple of minutes to decide. He stands around by the Pos and talks to another bartender (Andrew I think?), who came from the kitchen, then immediately left. Another 10-15 minutes pass. By this point, I was wondering if I should just walk out. Finally, Ryan comes to take our orders. Typically, a server or bartender leads the conversation, right? I'm sure you hear things like "what can I get started for you," or "how would you like your eggs cooked" or "how would you like your Steak cooked" - You've all heard those before, right?
