I began a mission to get a plate of llapingachos (mashed potatoes laced with cheese and topped with peanut sauce, a typical dish in the Cuenca/Azogues area of Ecuador.) Yelp did not fail me. Llapingachos are usually eaten with fritada (fried pork) or hornado (roast pork, like pernil.) Them I saw guatita (tripe with peanut sauce) and was almost lead astray and said to myself, No, you came here for llapingachos and llapingachos you shall have. The waitress brought out green sauce, called ají in Colombia (not sure what it's called in Ecuador.) my husband ordered the bandeja paisa, a Colombian dish.
