Last week, I was in Apple Valley and needed a beverage. I did a quick search for a Caribou Coffee and found this location. I headed over here. This cafe has a drive-thru. Perfect! I gave it a whirl. I got a nice woman who took my order. She got my phone number associated with my rewards. I got a large sparkling green tea lemonade. I had an offer to get a large drink for a medium charge. Yay! I pulled up to the window and paid with a credit card. It didn't take long to get my drink. I thanked the woman and left. My drink was yummy and was exactly what I needed. I normally get a beverage to start my day, but it was nice to quench my thirst before fetching dinner. I had a terrific experience at this cafe. When I'm back in Apple Valley, I'd stop here to get my drink fix in a heartbeat. I hope to check out the cafe next time. (10) read more

This place is bad...they are either racist or i don't know what. We walk in and there was no line, the 3 people there working process to look at us and continue doing what they were doing. We were standing there for 4 minutes waiting and they did not ring us up. As a new place opening up and giving this kind of service out is just crazy! read more

I thought I would give a shout out to my favorite Coffee place, and favorite location: Caribou Coffee in Apple Valley, MN. You have NO idea how many hours of my life I've spent at this location. I started frequenting this location in 2006 when I was a student at the University of Minnesota. I worked on many hours of homework in there, drinking their delicious white mochas, and I even wrote the majority of my honors thesis in this building. What makes this location so awesome? Well, let me tell you! The layout is great. Some coffee shops I've been to have displays in awkward places or not enough room for a line to form near the ordering area, etc. This one had a lot of waiting room and their displays were strategically placed so you can see all the product and have access to it, but also have room to move around. Not only that, but there is plenty of places to sit down and relax, as well as a variety of different types of sitting situations. There are couches, plush chairs, wooden chairs and tables that sit 2 or 4 or even 6 people, and a row of bar stools near the western window at a counter. This bar stool area is great, as it can accommodate many folks and each one is able to plug in their laptop computer. This location's restrooms are always clean and their staff is always friendly. For awhile there I went to this location everyday before work or before school; it was one thing I looked forward to every single day. Rest assured, when I come for a visit to MN again, this will be one business I will go out of my way to visit. read more

I actually stopped coming here until only recently as my travels have returned me back to this location; it's not one of the better caribou locations out there. The customer service always seems to be a little bit off. This time around the cashier made me feel like I had cone to a party and I want invited. The Americano's, when taking into consideration chain and coffee as a commodity aspects, are a little deadpan in taste. I can hardly blame the business though -it's no Peace Coffee! But... They have free WiFi They do serve coffee They have chairs Its does the trick in a pinch especially since Peace Coffee is 30-45 minutes north of here... ...if you're interested, Peace Coffee (Longfellow) makes the BEST Americano's in the Mpls area. . read more

This Caribou has been on my coffee shop rotation for some time and it's always been OK nothing more, nothing less. It's always a little bit messy and a little bit crowded. The plus side is that the staff has always been amazing. A little extra effort cleaning up after the customers would make this place shine! read more

I've always thought it was strange how so many coffee shops have such attitudes running. I mean, it's coffee, whoop dee doo. Snooty baristas, snobby staff seem to be the norm. I was in coffee shops in Montreal with less attitude than the US, and that's coming from the French (which really aren't like people say.) But, once in a while you run into a place that's an exception to the generality... sadly, this place isn't it. I avoid this shop, but often I have to stop here based on the structure of my errands. The drinks are more expensive than Starbucks and the help seems like it doesn't really want to be there. If I ask a question about a drink, particularly the little man with the Black Sabbath ink and the ponytail answers in an adversarial, dumb ass sort of tone, like I'm an idiot for not knowing every drink on the menu. When they set the drinks up they rarely look at you. They won't comp you even a little foam or milk, everything has to be an additional 80 cents or whatever. I don't expect it, but it's nice when it happens. Here? not a chance. I guess I can thank them for that though, since their pettiness prompted me to research and purchase the milk foaming tool for twenty bucks from Bed Bath and Beyond. Far and above one of the better purchase for under a hundred dollars I've made this year. The place isn't set up the greatest. When it's only partially busy I find myself having to weave around chairs and people's Ipod cords to get to a seat. The fireplace is in the middle of the seating area, and when I need to go the the bathroom I have to take a labyrinthine path to the back of the store squeezing by either numerous other patrons, or chairs that aren't pushed in. Often I just wait to go at my next stop. I'm not really into the whole faux cabin/moose feel either I guess. I just don't get it, it's not Alaska. I imagine it's a Minnesota thing since one of my chiropractors has a painting of a moose hanging on the wall. Sort of strange since I'm not sure how many if any are in the state. Certainly, there are none near the Twin Cities, except for maybe in the zoo, or maybe not. The patrons are either high school kids or some of the mangier locals. The wifi is decent, it doesn't require a login page, which is nice. But, there are usually pieces of trash on the floor and the bathroom typically needs attention. If I didn't get around much I guess it would seem ok, but I travel around the Twins and the US a lot and this place just doesn't cut the mustard. The coffee itself isn't bad. It has a smokier, slightly more sour taste which I like and it will definitely kick your ass. But overall, the Super America a few blocks away has MUCH friendlier service and far less expensive coffee (albeit lower quality,) and you can always amp up your deal for free by putting Stok shots in if you like it strong, AND you get complementary unlimited whip cream. Not to mention, your seventh drink is always free. Caribou is going to have to close or rebrand another 150 stores if it doesn't pull it together soon. read more

Why oh why do coffee shops have to blast cold air on their customers? I get it that a chilly temp encourages one to buy a big delicious Caribou turtle mocha, but seriously, I am getting frozen out of this location! Love the 7-grain oatmeal, Northern Lite Lattes, and Caramel Coolers, but these days I am spending my moola in warmer environments. read more

This Caribou coffee was absolutely horrible to me. I am used to going to Caribou coffee's that have bagels as well. I walked into this Caribou coffee not thinking about the fact that they may not have bagels. I asked for a bagel with cream cheese and the manager started yelling at me saying how I was an imbecile for thinking that they serve bagels at this Caribou coffee. And she said that not all Caribous serve bagels and then I need to Go to a shop that does sell bagels. I will never come here ever again. read more

I will not be going back to this location. The past 2 months I had to walk out numerous times due to very slow service. The employees don't seem to know what they're doing there's a new employee heavyset woman that has absolutely no clue about anything in that store every time I've ever gone there she's there I walked out because the line is out the door she makes wrong drinks not knowing how to use the cash register horrible horrible service. And actually my last time in their l paid for drinks and never got them had to walk out after never getting them. I reported it to the manager and he said he knows there is a big problem that he's going to correct it they should all be fired. read more
