A good experience at the Hopkins caribou this morning. I ordered my go to- a hot caramel latte. The baristas were incredibly friendly at this location. As I was walking out, while there was a long line, the barista at the front made sure to say bye and wish me a good day. The only downside is that this location was pretty busy and it was a bit loud for a conversation with a friend, especially when baristas were yelling names for orders that were done. read more

Love their coffee! Every Caribou I go to it's consistent and this location has very nice space either to sit alone and do some work or to sit with friends to catch up over coffee. There's also outside seating with umbrellas, so you can sit in the shade. Today I sat outside at one of the umbrella seating and enjoyed a Northern lite latte with Oatmilk, which was super yummy! read more

Had a mediocre in store experience in the first place, take my coffee home and Just fished this out of my teeth from a coffee from this location. The shift lead who answered my phone call very lethargically stated 'well.... It must have been an honest mistake, if you can come back here I'll give you a gift card'. No! Fk you! Caribou Coffee - Plastic I found in my teeth from my coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Hopkins, Minnesota

While you're not going to get the high-end artfully made coffee here that you'd find at a real coffee shop, Caribou definitely outshines its big chain competitors. The only thing I've ever ordered off the menu and haven't liked is the white chocolate pumpkin mocha - however I did get it iced instead of hot, so that may be my own fault. The pumpkin flavor probably tastes better in a warm drink. My typical go-to drink is a cold press with white chocolate. They go a little to heavy on the white chocolate for my tastes (at every Caribou, not just this location), so I always order a half shot. The first time I actually watched them put a full shot of white chocolate in my coffee I was shocked (and moderately disgusted) at just how much of that chocolate sauce I was chugging down every time I ordered a coffee. Some people do like their coffee to taste like candy though, so... to each their own. I also highly recommend getting one of their apple fritters (and heat it up!) on your next visit. I always used to stay away from the bakery items at chains like Caribou or Starbucks because they come in premade, stored in tubs, and far too often are bland or dried out. The apple fritters, however, are out of this world. I work at a bakery that fries fresh apple fritters every morning, and to be honest, I like Caribou's fritters more than our own. I visit this location fairly often, especially before working out across the street at LA Fitness. While not my favorite Caribou, it has decent natural light and outside of mid-Saturday mornings, sufficient workspace. Service can be inconsistent in my opinion. read more

Wow...I don't know why I keep giving Caribou a chance. Probably because I'm a Minnesotan and have faith in local businesses. I know, I know, I'm way too "Minnesota nice." The past few times I've been to Caribou my drinks have tasted watered down and flavorless. I hate to admit it, but as far as chain coffee places go I have been consistently impressed with my Starbuck's lattes and iced coffees. Caribou on the other hand...not so much. Everytime I go to Caribou I usually order the same thing...and it somehow manages to taste different everytime! Here is one example story that officially made me jump ship on the Bou: Exhausted and weary after a long day at work...I decided to buy a Caribou iced coffee on a hot and humid August afternoon. The young man behind the counter was very kind and friendly, but could probably see the pained look on my face when he told me they were totally out of brewed iced coffee! He told me not to worry, that he could make me one "from scratch." I was hesitant, but also slighty desperate so I thought "What the heck...give it a try." I watched with slightly horrified amusement as he topped off an ice filled 12 ounce plastic cup with 4 SHOTS OF ESPRESSO. I figured he might do a cold Americano kind of thing, but was totally not expecting that! I took one small sip and kind of gagged as I handed it back to him and said, "I'm sorry, this is really gross and doesn't taste anything like an iced coffee...not to mention it will probably keep me awake for the next two days." All I have to say is that I am super disappointed in Caribou coffee. Come on Caribou, you have to represent Minnesota a little better than this! read more

I enjoy the 2 for $5 Tuesdays, wifi and amenities quite thoroughly. It works well for studying. However, I must say that it's frustrating that I have been there multiple times a week for the last month and a half while studying for my summer class and the staff has not smiled once. When I walk up to the counter they tend to treat me more like an inconvenience than a valuable customer. It's strange and makes the atmosphere less pleasant. Once I said, "I'm a perks member, can I give you my number?" And the employee snarkily said, "usually you're supposed to give it first, before you give me your order." Well, she didn't ask me for it and I don't work there so I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to know that. read more

I used to visit this location fairly often but now I know why I don't anymore. During my visit only three people were working and it was the morning rush. I expected service to be slow but that was not all. The barista was sloppy with the drinks; handing drinks over as they spilled out the top and didn't clean up the mess. I actually watched a customer grab a napkin and clean it for her. No eye contact to acknowledge she did it or a thank you for cleaning her mess. I ordered a caramel high rise and received a vanilla latte but I kept it so I could get to work on time. I understand sometimes people don't show up for work and staffing can be an problem, but I would expect the employees to be a little nicer and more organized. From now on I will be going to the Caribou in the Lund's grocery store across the street. Their service is much better. read more

I have just discovered a like of flavored coffee fru fru drinks and I stopped into Caribou to try theirs as I have a McD's Frappe and a Starbucks Frappicino and the person behind the counter was so nice and pleasant. He helped me figure out what it is I like and I learned that a Turtle Blended something with milk chocolate is phenomenal and just what I wanted. He didn't make me feel ignorant and I was so pleased that my day started off with a friendly, knowledgeable face and a great drink! read more
