Stop here for authentic Italian pizza! The Margarita pizza is amazing! The service is great and the decor is very pleasing. We decided to try the dessert menu, Tiramisu was a real winner!

Pizza and aperol spritz

Such a classic Italian restaurant! I used to go with family all the time when I was going to UWM and recently went back to reminisce and it was the same great food! Did not disappoint. It's a family-owned restaurant and it feels like way. Like eating and Italian meal with family. We always start with a pizza and Aperol Spritzes for an appetizer. The Diavola is our favorite. The flavors of the sauce mixed with the spicy meat and the perfectly cooked crust. Chef's kiss! Then we always get some sort of pasta. They never miss and feel like they were cooked right out of Nana's kitchen. The meatballs are great! We always end with tiramisu. This is the place!

Loved the feel inside and everyone was friendly. Food was great, the bread was amazing. I got the chicken parm. The chicken portion was large and loved the fresh mozzarella on top. I would have liked a little more sauce. Will be back to try the pizzas!

Veal Marsala

Decent local spot for southern Italian food with huge portions. We had the Veal Marsala, Fettuccine Alfredo, and the Mussels. Dishes were ok- the Veal was probably the best entree of the evening. Would probably give this place 3 1/2 stars if that was available.

Bread and garlic olive oil - so much garlic!!!

We came here on a whim after attempting to go to a nearby Thai restaurant that was closed. The place was packed on a Friday night but we were still seated immediately. The service, while not fast, was very friendly. The peach Cosmo was delish! Our entrees came with a bread basket, garlic olive oil and Parmesan cheese. I don't know if I've ever had too much garlic on anything - ever - but their garlic olive oil had so much raw garlic that I'll be keeping the vampires away for decades! Not my favorite, but their entrees made up for it. I had the penne alla vodka, which was creamy and perfectly al dente. My husband had the chicken Marsala with penne, which was slightly sweet and delicious. The ambiance was very homey and comfortable. I can see why they have so many positive reviews!

We waited about 45 minutes for our pasta dishes. The restaurant is not very busy tonight but it is Sunday, and the waiter mentioned this is the last day of the week they're open. We wanted to order pizza and the waiter said they are out of pizza for the night but he didn't tell us until about 30 minutes after we were sitting. Also, we asked for no shrimp in the tortellini dish we ordered but they gave us shrimp anyway. The food tasted fine otherwise but I probably won't be coming back.

Carini's is the place to go for traditional Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Came here recently on a Saturday night to enjoy some Italian eats with my main dining companion. Our server was brand new and did a wonderful job with our table. We both ordered bourbon Manhattans, which were strong, ample, and well made (though missing a cherry). To begin our experience, bread with this amazing olive oil, herb, and garlic (tons of garlic--so good!) was brought to our table with our Manhattans. The bread was ok but the oil mixture was the true star of the show. If you like garlic, you will love this! For my entree, I ordered their eggplant pasta. I actually was trying to order their eggplant parmesan, but through a miscommunication with our server ended up with the eggplant pasta--a happy accident! The pasta was flavorful with ample diced eggplant. It was rich, flavorful, and just plain delicious. For dessert, we shared a cannoli, which was a lovely treat (highly recommend!). All in all a wonderful first experience with Carini's La Conca D'Oro. Get to it (they have curbside takeout as well!)!

Bread and Garlic Olive Oil

Dined here last night with a friend. They only had room in the patio area which was cold. We were very hungry and in the mood to try a little bit of everything. We started with a salad. The server told us the bigger portion would be too big, so the smaller would be better. It was more of a one-person portion than two. The house vinaigrette is perfect. We split a Margherita pizza, which we both loved. Can't go wrong with a nice wood fire pizza! Fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the shrimp tortellini and I got the fettuccine clams in garlic sauce. We were served bread and olive oil with the entrees. The bread was nothing special, but it doesn't matter when you have oil and cheese to douse it in. The clams in my pasta were tasty, but pretty scarce in comparison to the noodles. The garlic sauce is... garlic sauce. Pretty oily and extremely garlicky. I enjoyed my friends shrimp tortellini more than my own dish. It has a scrumptious cream sauce. We finished our meal with a nice slice of tiramisu. Yum! I prefer it to have a bit more coffee flavor, but other than that is was great. There are plenty of dishes I still want to try so I'm sure I'll be back!

Puttanesca was just ordinary, no anchovies or sausage. 'Southern Italian' food should taste spicy.

My date had requested during the reservation to be seated by a window but they had us seated at a rounder and bigger table that felt a little goofy for two people to be seated in. But we asked our server, Aracely, if we would be able to move to the window seating and they helped arrange that for us. We decided to order the Crispy Fried Berkshire Pork Belly as our starter and the Grilled Whole Mediterranean Branzino and the Seafood Pappardelle as our main entrees. For drinks, we decided to get the cranberry kiss. Surprisingly, both of our dishes were pretty filling! The seafood Pappardelle, had lobster, scallops, shrimp, and octopus. It was on the heavier side, but the noodles that they paired with it, was absolutely amazing. The Branzino was nicely grilled, but wasn't dry on the inside. I was indifferent with the chimichurri sauce that was paired with it but the smashed potatoes and grilled asparagus was delicious. Overall, very delicious entrees.

Stopped in for takeout. Ambience was cools and laid back at night, there was some soft jazz playing. Order 2 jerk salmon burgers and some wings with the "crab it your way" sauce. Flavor was on point for both. Wings were delicious and super crispy, just like I ordered. The burgers, although they were good, they were small for $18. Fries were decent, but a bit on the greasy side. Took 2 stars off because we waited 45 minutes for our food, when we were told 20 minutes, the burgers were small for the price and they charge an automatic 18% gratuity even for carry out ( I don't mind dine in). Also the girl at the front didn't seem too knowledgeable about the menu. Although I'm not a big fan of The Q, I would definitely go back for Crab It Your Way. I already know their seafood boils are bomb.

For only $6, they serve a full sized portion which is one of the best values on the menu and an absolute steal for the quality you receive. The burger comes with caramelized onions, American cheese, crispy onions, au poivre sauce, garlic-herb aioli on a sesame milk bun (Note: one order per guest). From the happy hour menu, I also ordered the Halibut Fish Fry and the Shrimp Cocktail. The Shrimp Cocktail had a sweet and chili cocktail vinaigrette, which I really enjoyed. From the dinner menu, I had the Kale Cashew Caesar, Lobster Pot Pie, and the Ora King Salmon. To my surprise, the star of the show was the Kale Cashew Caesar, which staff recommended. What made this dish so special was the generous mound of shaved Gran Moravia piled on top, complemented by lemon breadcrumbs. The combination and texture was so fun to eat. The Lobster Pot Pie is offered at market price ($55 when I went). They give you generous chunks of butter-poached lobster tails, seasonal vegetables, lobster cream in their truffle puff pastry. The Ora King Salmon was also delicious. Salmon was cooked perfectly--light and moist. I enjoyed the black garlic gnocchi and the apple gastrique that came with this dish. I ended the night with their chai banana caramel creme brulee. I'll definitely be back for their happy hour and that Kale Cashew Caesar!

There are tables and chairs, but it's tight and when it got busy with people coming to pick up their lunch, would feel weird sitting down to eat. As it was, we just waited to pick up our food, like everyone else. Didn't see a single person actually eating inside, though we saw a LOT of people coming to pick up lunch. Previous review stands (3/25/2022) This is another happy review. I'm happy to report that the burgers have improved significantly since my last review 4 years ago. Korean BBQThey toned down on the shredded cabbage and the sauce in the korean bbq burger. Everything balanced out much better than what I remember, and I could actually taste the kimchi inside this time. The meat was cooked to a nice medium, and travelled well in our to-go order. Soft Shell CrabThey put two whole deep fried soft shell crabs in one burger. Topped off with a lot of arugula, bacon and tomatoes. It was good, but not quite as balanced out as the Korean BBQ burger. I'm not quite sure what it is... Lacking some sauce?Overall, the place had some great burgers and I would definitely go back more often that I have recently. But there's a little bit missing still to give it a whopping 5 star review. Plus the buns were really bready... a little less dough would have been nice. And on the downside... the fries weren't awesome. They were ok. But felt more like baked fries than deep fried. In any case, I love improvements and having great joints in my neighborhood. First time here. I was attending a Yelp Event…read more I was super impressed with the store. I checked and there are lots of stores in the Chicago area but this appears to be the first in the Milwaukee area. It's a interesting concept. Everything is frozen, including meats, fish, vegetables and meals. There is a large selection of interesting, or what might be considered exotic foods. You can get cuts of Elk, Bison, and Venison. They have organ meats and oxtails. They have a large selection of shrimp, and some that are so big that you might mistake them for lobster. For many of the items, there are plenty of choices. For example there is not just one salmon or shrimp selection. They have at least 12 different types to choose from. For different locations, different types, different, and different types of production standards (organic, non-gmo, pasture raised, etc) The store is well organized. All of the standing freezers or wall units are neatly packed and well labeled. Pricing is easy to discern. It's easy to shop and find what you are looking for. I found the help to all be helpful, and friendly. The staff at the registers were patient, and chatty. I bought a couple of items, and looking forward to cooking up the pasture raised chicken (breasts) and the Gulf Coast shrimp. This is not my side of town, so it's a little out of my way. However, they explained that for $29 you can get a year of free deliveries. That's a great deal!
