    Banana matcha
    Alysa C.

Honestly was really excited to try this place out given all the hype around it. However, I must say I was quite disappointed with my experience. Their online ordering service makes things really convenient for the consumer, which I really liked and think it'll be really helpful to those who may want to schedule pick up orders. I did find that staff wasn't too welcoming but I attributed it to being really early in the morning. I placed an order for some drinks for myself and my coworkers but found that their matchas were overly milky and inconsistent as some drinks clearly had more milk than others. We got banana matchas and I will say that there is a delicious banana flavoring to it that isn't artificial tasting or overbearing. I also ordered a breakfast burrito and thought it was quite salty and my salsa/crema was watery. Overall, I'm not sure if I would try this place again but some of their menu items and coffees did look really good.

    Tuna chop on sourdough instead

Expensive sandwiches but excellent quality and the matcha and lattes are amazing. Free 90 minute parking with validation. When you enter the parking lot there are 20 minute parking spots but if you're staying for lunch you'll need to go up a few levels. I haven't tried the new dinner items yet but I will soon. My favorites are the chicken Caesar wrap and tuna chop on sourdough instead of ciabatta.

Always a fun 10/10 experience. I like to eat my food in the nearby secret park between buildings . So beautiful and zen! Looking forward to trying new items!

    Chicken Caesar Wrap

The chicken Caesar wrap was delicious, super filling, and the dressing was really good. I also enjoyed the house matcha, though it would've been better with the cream top, which they were unfortunately out of by 1pm. Service was quick with less than a 10 minute wait for food and drinks. Parking is available at the WATT Plaza next door, just make sure to validate with the cashier because it's very expensive otherwise. Very spacious seating indoors, but the music was too loud, so we sat outside.

I was so excited to try the drinks at a new cafe in the Century City area, however, the customer service just ruined my experience. We walked in with a positive attitude, but were greeted with an unfriendly vibe. Also, we ordered 4 drinks, but only received one stamp and when we asked for the remaining stamps, they told us it's only one stamp per order which doesn't make any sense...I'm very disappointed with the customer service for what I'm paying for.

Tuna chop sandwich on ciabatta (no red onion, but there is still red onion in the tuna salad)

Wow - several food bloggers. I follow have mentioned this chopped tuna sandwich as being either their number one or number two tuna sandwich in the city, and I would have to agree with them. The only other tuna sandwich I've had in LA that made this could have an impression on me was the Tonno sandwich at Lorenzo in Beverly Hills. I ordered from the Colony location in West LA, so there is no ambience to speak of, but the service inside was quick in my order was ready on time. I've never had a tuna sandwich like this, but it reminded me of an Italian chopped salad with tuna instead of salami and avocado instead of cheese, smashed between some yummy crunchy, but soft ciabatta. I'll be back for this one!

extremely welcoming atmosphere and wasn't too busy when we went! service was incredibly nice and generous and also let us know that they had a promo for the day where they had free strawberry matchas!! matcha was smooth and was good as well :) definitely try coming here

Best sandwich hands down!! Fresh ingredients, yummy flavors, and friendly service every time. It's a must-try. Worth every bite!

A darling lady greeted me and asked if I had been here before. I told her it was my first time. She enthusiastically said. "Let me tell you our story." Turns out she was the owner, Suzy Hovanesyan. In addition to coffee, lattes, & date shakes made with dates sourced from around the world, Café Sheera offers Mediterranean sweets, traditional pastries, & sandwiches - all made with fresh ingredients and free from any chemicals, additives, or preservatives. She mentioned that their coffee is imported from Italy and that the Signature Herbal Lattes are a best seller as well as the Baklava Latte, which is flavored with honey & pistachios. I was sold on the Baklava Latte and requested it with almond milk. The girl that took my order was friendly as was the other gal behind the counter. I was impressed that Suzy prepared my latte for me. I took a sip and was pleasantly surprised that it tasted like Baklava. The bold, rich flavor of the roast was balanced out with notes of honey & pistachio. It also came with a bite sized piece of baklava that was the perfect tasty little snack.

(See below) ~ The Waygu Beef Sandwich 10/10: easily one of the best sandwiches in the area. It has a special mediterranean taste with a tzatziki-style sauce that keeps the sandwich perfectly wet. The meat is always cooked & shredded to perfection, & the inside is filled with vibrant leafy greens. I love what you have going on here. ~ The Breakfast Platter 10/10: Comes served with cheesy scrambled eggs that anyone would enjoy. A side of fresh feta cheese, some toasty cherry tomatoes, & fluffy sour dough slices. The star are the turkey patties. They are a great source of protein & the whole plate is just overall a great nutritional source. THE ISSUE: the drinks.. they are so bad.. terrible. I have given Esso many chances with their different iced coffees & matcha lattes. They have all been monstrously awful. It's rare that I can get pasta. third sip before I have to stop. I wish you guys would change your milk ratio & matcha brand. Every milk-based drink is TOO milky, there is no taste of neither coffee nor matcha. The syrups have a sort of grainy taste as well. Drinks & food aside, Esso Caffé is decorated in such a bland way, yet it always feels comfy to sit there. I love the time I spend sitting inside or on the outdoor tables. This cafe has some serious charm to it. The workers are friendly & the business owners are always present to give input & oversee the workers.

Walked in on a Sunday around 11:30am, restaurant maybe a quarter full. Seated in a corner with incomplete silverware, no menus for several minutes, no water for even longer. Waited another 10-15 minutes with menus in hand before anyone came to take our order. The food wait aside, what really stood out was the lack of basic check-ins. No "sorry for the wait," no acknowledgment, and when I finally asked for the bill, the manager came over with the terminal, took payment, and walked off without much of a follow-up except to hand over boxes. Just a little warmth goes a long way! Food, when it arrived: * Landwer's Pancakes: the highlight. Three pancakes tall with seasonal fruit, whipped cream, Nutella, and maple syrup. Delicious and a generous portion. * Croissant Sandwich: disappointing. Tough, chewy croissant with thinner filling than the bread size warranted. Hard to get a clean bite. The Century City location is convenient, and parking on weekend mornings is easy before the crowds roll in.

I've been to Cafe Landwer a few times over the years, and it was usually decent. After today,…read morethough, I don't have any interest in returning. My friend and I made a reservation for outdoor dining for brunch. We arrive right around our reservation time to find nobody at the podium. After a few minutes, a woman comes up and asks, "For two?" before immediately turning around and walking the other way, to which point we stop her and say that we actually had a reservation which we gave her all the details for. She stopped for about half a second, grabbed menus, then turned around again and brought the menus to an indoor table, then just walked away without making eye contact. She did not even tell us to follow her nor say a single word to us once we were seated. No worries, right? Wrong. We perused the menus and waited for about ten minutes, with no staff members coming by to help us. We started looking around to try to flag someone down, but each staff member was either not looking in our direction and/or wearing a different outfit from the next staff member, with some outfits almost having a nightclub aesthetic than wait staff. Eventually, another individual comes by our table and, again, without greeting us or making any eye contact, aloofly says, "Just order off the QR code," which we didn't see because the menus were covering it. Now, my friend who I was with works in the mall, and I know the restaurant offers a discount for mall employees, so as the employee was walking away, I called out and asked if we would still get the discount if ordering off the QR code, and he said yes. Note that in all the times my friend and I have eaten here in the past, it was always traditional table service. Then, we go to place our order, and after adding everything to the basket, it tries to charge my credit card. At this point, almost 20 minutes had gone by since we arrived, with still no single greeting or water or silverware set or anything. I get up to speak to another waiter who was helping nearby tables, to which I am again told to just order off the QR code but was reassured that the mall discount would be applied once the tab was settled. So we oblige and place our order through the portal. Several minutes later, the same waiter who I had most recently spoken with had come to our table (mind you, this is the first time someone came to our table in the entire time we were seated) and said that the restaurant was out of some of the items on our menu. And it was at this point that we FINALLY got waters. At this point, we had to look through the menu again, but it was getting to the point where we were going to miss our movie, so we had to just abandon ship and eat at the mall food court. Upon leaving, the only acknowledgement we got was from the first woman who "brought" us to our table, which was a petty smile and wave. Allow me to make myself clear. I hold no animosity against any establishment for being short-staffed, for requiring QR code ordering, or for being out of ingredients. This stuff just happens. What I do have an issue with is the astounding lack of any grace or hospitality, without even a simple "Whenever you're ready go ahead and use the QR codes on the table" or even a welcome. It just felt as though every person was just trying to get by with doing the bare minimum, and every employee had attitude. Even the couple next to us, who had been seated before we arrived, never got acknowledged. It's honestly a shame, because many of the items here are great, and the offerings are unique, but if this is how Cafe Landwer chooses to operate and treat its customers, I won't be back.
