    Tuna Salad Sandwich

Great tuna sammy! The pickle salad was refreshing too. Need to get back here to try more sandwiches

A look at the pastry case and some of the chips available for purchase

After my doctor's appointment in Westwood, my son and I came to this quaint little cafe in Century City for some much needed lunch. Located just across the street from the Westfield mall, it's tucked away on a quiet, residential street with a lot of its clientele coming directly from the surrounding neighborhood. They serve sandwiches, salads, and breakfast-oriented egg dishes, but also have a cold case that includes items like meatloaf, salmon filets, chicken salad, etc..like an upgraded version of your local supermarket deli. They also have cute little candies, jams, honey, chocolates and shirts for sale, among other things. There's a freezer full of items like cookie dough and scones that you can take home to bake fresh in your own oven. If you would prefer to have a pastry here, they have their own pastry case full of goodies like cookies, rugelach, Apple turnovers, banana cakes, muffins, etc. We weren't really in the mood for sweets so we just got straight to the point with our sandwiches. My son got the Turkey Caliente sandwich which he loved and said was delicious, and I had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich (add avocado and roasted cherry tomatoes). We both thought the food was great and completely devoured every bite and licked the plates clean. We also shared a Caesar Salad between the both of us. Even their Tropical Iced Tea was delicious, along with the can of Passionfruit Agua Fresca my son chose from the cold case. The service is nothing special. No one was rude but they weren't really welcoming either. No one checked on us during the entire time we were there or cleared our table for the whole duration of our experience. The bathroom also needs more attention. The whole sink area was wet and I had to squeeze a bunch of times to get the last drop of soap out of the dispenser. There were also several scattered pieces of toilet paper and paper towels all over the floor. It was clear that no one had cleaned it for a while. I went to the bathroom again before leaving and it was still in the same condition. As far as parking goes, there are a couple of spaces behind the restaurant that are reserved for customers of Clementine and the pizzeria next door. Not sure if I will be back since it's so out of my way, but it was a good place to check out since we were nearby and starving!

I love when we find cute + yummy places when we venture out and this place is definitely one of them! They have a great selection of pastries and a few breakfasty menu items; we shared the breakfast scramble and a blueberry muffin, and it was pretty darn good. Definitely love the ambience. We sat outside, which was perfect for the warm weather. We also had drip coffee and it was a pretty good cup. Bonus tip: there is parking behind the restaurant, which is amazing for this area, especially when parking is so impossible to find. Happy eating!

Specials of the day - the brisket melt was phenomenal

Was in the general area to take my grandma to lunch at one of her favorite casual spots in Westwood but failed to realize they were not open for lunch on Sundays! Quickly went on Yelp to find another option and Clementine looked like the perfect spot, though I was a little worried about finding parking and seating. My grandma had been to Clementine before to pick up baked goods years ago but had never dined in so she was excited to try somewhere new. There was some parking in the alley behind the restaurant and we were lucky enough to grab the last handicapped spot. However, it was a little difficult for her to navigate the alley to the front entrance with her walker due to the incline and poor condition of the pavement (lots of cracks/bumps). When we left, I was able to pull up to the side of the building and have her get in this way which was much easier for her. We were able to grab a two seat table inside and the employees were helpful when it came to helping us and finding a safe place for her walker. The menu had so many great choices but we both ended up getting the brisket melt special which was sooo goood! My grandma said it was one of the best sandwiches she ever had. She loved the combo of the gruyere and caramelized onions and the brisket was so juicy and tender you didnt even need the au jus it came with. I also got an arnold palmer which was made with their fresh brewed tropical iced tea and ginger limeade - so so good and not overly sweet, I hate when arnold palmers are really sweet. It was a bit pricey at $5 but that allowed for refills including a refill to go. They charge slightly less if you order a drink to go. I also got a blueberry sour cream muffin which I ate the next day for breakfast and loved it. They had so many goood looking things! I am not in the area often for brunch/lunch time but my grandma and I both agreed we would come back again.

    Classic Smoked Turkey Sandwich

We had a movie preview at AMC Century City and after looking online at the mall restaurants I remembered Clementine was nearby. Parking can be challenging but we found a space. The place has salads, sandwiches and soups with a lovely selection of baked goods. There is a large section of to go soups, quiche, pot pies, etc. Hubby ordered a bowl of tomato soup and I had the smoked turkey sandwich. The soup was in a LARGE bowl and it was so creamy, buttery and tasty that I got an order to go. Sandwich was big and I only ate half. Couldn't leave without taking some bakery items but it was near closing time and the selection was small. Bought the peanut butter cookies. They were delicious. Service was good and we weren't rushed to eat as it was close to closing time. Love this place.

    Strawberries & Oats Smoothie

we came in to get a quick sweet drink, and we were unfortunately met with rude service. i ordered a strawberry and oat smoothie, and was satisfied with my drink. however, we asked about one of the menu items and received a snarky remark, then one of the workers misled us about what was in the drink. overall the drinks were fine, but we were ultimately disappointed with the service

The croissant was even flakier and the inside layers were still slightly soft and just perfect, even the day after! Deeelicious! HAM & GRUYÈRE CROISSANT (Butter croissant rolled with slices of ham and Gruyère cheese) It was good, wish there was there was more ham & gruyère inside. Nonetheless, the croissant was the star! It was flaky, buttery, crispy perfection! Having said that, get the butter croissant instead! TRIPLE PAIN AU CHOCOLAT Deliciously dark chocolatey! Flaky, buttery, crispy croissant, what more could you want? Loved it with a cup of coffee! Better when you toast in the oven! ORANGE BLOSSOM ALMOND CROISSANT (Crispy twice baked croissant filled with light and silky almond cream studded with bright candied orange pieces, and a smooth, floral orange blossom pastry cream) Flaky, crispy croissant with beautifully floral, full orange blossom flavor! This croissant was beautifully done! I haven't had a pastry that honored orange blossom like this! The almond cream comes through alongside the orange blossom, which complemented each other wonderfully! I love elevated croissants like this! It makes me happy to come to Fondry, knowing they can deliver on all their baked goods! PASSIONFRUIT CROIFFIN (Croissant x Muffin; filled with bright, tangy passionfruit curd, and tart, bouncy passionfruit jelly, topped with a very vanilla chantilly cream) They did not hold back! This was a passionfruit flavor bomb! Sooo good! They did not hold back! The croffin was crispy outside and flaky soft inside. The passionfruit curd was flowing out of the croiffin as you cut it open! Passionfruit heaven! The vanilla chantilly cream was also excellent in flavor! It was so good, I went back to get another! TOFU CLOUD CROISSANT TOAST (Crisp and sweet miso honey butter toasted croissant topped with a cloud-like sweet tofu cream) Crispy, crunchy, deliciously toasted croissant. Can taste the miso and the croissant tasted like burnt caramel. The tofu cream was fluffy and sweet, like whipped cream, but fluffier! The bottom layer tasted like almond frangipane. Such a delight to eat! I regretted not getting a second one! Beautifully done! BLACK SESAME PARISIAN FLAN Not good. Tart was crispy on the outer layers, but underside was soft. The black sesame flavor was there, but it was a muddled flavor, not a clean toasted black sesame flavor. The flan texture was a bit gummy and a bit dense too. FYI: There were some brunch items you can order in person before 11:00am. ONLINE ORDER Encouraged to order online and order in advance if you want specific pastries. I went in person to order on Wednesday morning. There was no line. CUSTOMER SERVICE Smiling and friendly, helpful and welcoming! I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. Ever since reopening after the pandemic, both the service and food quality seem to have steadily deteriorated. I keep returning out of nostalgia for what it once was, but each visit leaves me more disappointed than the last. On my most recent visit, the service was noticeably dismissive and a bit sassy. The food was equally underwhelming. The Calabrese pizza was excessively greasy, and while I managed to finish the ribeye because I was absolutely famished, it was overcooked and dry, but at only $65 for the bone-in ribeye with fries, I guess I can't really complain. What truly ruined the experience, however, was the pear martini. It arrived garnished with a pear that still had the produce sticker attached. At best, this demonstrates a shocking lack of attention to detail and at worst, it raises concerns about whether the fruit was even properly washed. Seeing that completely killed our appetites. The restaurant removed the drink from the bill after i asked them to, but unfortunately the response felt indifferent, as though no one particularly cared that such an obvious mistake had made. After years of returning Bottega Louie, this visit was likely my last. It's disappointing to watch a once great restaurant decline so noticeably, but unless something changes, I can't imagine returning.
