Wake and Late was such a good brunch spot. I tried their frozen coffee, and while it was alright for me, about a 7 out of 10, the burrito was totally worth it. My friend and I both loved it. As a vegan/vegetarian I was able to customize mine without the meat, eggs, and cheddar, and it was still so flavorful. The cilantro and hot sauce were soooo good and really brought everything together. The customer service was great, and I loved the atmosphere and vibe of the place. I've heard so many great reviews about this place for their breakfast burritos. So we were in the area, in WEHO and deciced let's give this place a try. We will pick up quickly and go. Now if this was only just that. When you walk in there is no menu at the top, there is no place where you can walk to the line, there is no signage...which is confusing. The asthetic is clean and fresh with fresh oranges in two large wooden bowls sitting on the counter tops, and lots of beautiful plants throughout the outskirts of the restaurant. Food: We ordered one breakfast burrito to split between the two of us with eggs, avocado, and a side of the cilantro cream sauce with a vanilla latte. Wait Time: 30+ minutes to wait for one small burrito and latte. The wait was ridiculous, there was not so many orders before us, but the service felt too slow and for $20+ for one burrito and small latte it felt overpriced. Once we got the order, the burrito was solid, it was crispy on the outside and the tator tots inside were delicious, the stand out was the cilantro cream sauce. It's spacious, the service was friendly, and they have a small parking lot, which is always a plus. I got there around 7:50 a.m. on a Thursday, and there was no line. I ordered the steak breakfast burrito with a side of cilantro crema and chipotle aioli. The tortilla was really good, and both sauces were delicious. Unfortunately, that was the best part of the meal. The burrito was smaller than I expected and just tasted bland. It felt like it needed salt, more cheese, or just more flavor overall. So my last trip to SoCal-I had a few dining goals and I accomplished most of them,but none was bigger than finally trying out what social media has called the best breakfast burritos in SoCal. That led me to Wake and Late in West Hollywood on N La Cienega Blvd. When we arrived parking was pretty simple as they share a small parking lot with a few other businesses but lots of spaces available. Walking in the business is very clean-especially for what I'm used to for a burrito shop. They had menus on the counter and after a little debate this is what we decided to go for. 1.Breakfast Burrito with Grass Fed Steak and organic beans ($19.50) 2.Breakfast Burrito with Bacon and organic beans and pickled jalapeños ($19.50) We got all 3 sauces on the side to try with them-Cilantro Crema-Chipotle Aioli-Hot sauce. This was not a cheap meal,so I was already a bit suspect. The wait was bout 20-25 minutes for our food to be ready but a few things happened during that 25 minutes that had me overlooking the high price. First thing is I noticed was there was a little lady in the display window in the kitchen making fresh handmade tortillas for all the burritos-that's a huge plus. Second thing-I guess they also specialize in making freshly squeezed orange juice and these frozen coffee drinks and while I was waiting the friendly staff offered me a sample of each-I thought that was very nice of them. Each tasted quite wonderful by the way. Let's talk about these burritos. At first glance they were smaller than I expected,especially at that price point,but I do have to remember the SoCal price point is much higher than I'm used to in Sacramento. I love that the tortilla was grilled-had beautiful char marks all over it. The burritos came with steak or bacon,eggs,avocado,.tater tots,cheese,beans and one came with pickled jalapeños. Everything organic or grass-fed.Truly high level ingredients. I really wanted to hate this burrito because it just was so not what I'm not used to or look for in a breakfast burrito. But dang-this thing was a flavor explosion-so tasty-so perfectly put together,each ingredient worked with the next ingredient to make the perfect bite from first bite to last bite. Tried Wake and Late at the recommendation of my coworker and it did not disappoint! I ordered online, so by the time I arrived, my order was already ready for pickup. The service seemed friendly and welcoming, though since I was only grabbing takeout, I didn't interact much beyond pickup. The interior is cute and clean, and seems to have a pretty decent amount of seating. The parking lot it's in is free which is convenient if you drive! I usually order the classic breakfast burrito with steak, and they are were delicious, flavorful, and I would say pretty filling and reasonably priced. I did notice that on a few occasions the sauce was mixed up (I got cilantro sauce instead of chipotle), so I'd recommend double-checking your order before heading out. I don't really have a preference and both are good, so it doesn't bother me much. Would definitely be back for another breakfast burrito run, just next time with a quick sauce check maybe. read more

There is a small off street parking lot in front of the restaurant in a shared plaza. This place is busy mostly with pickup orders. If it is your first time in there is a code for $10 off your first order by ordering through their app just make sure you select the correct location (made that my mistake). I will say as busy as they were, they were getting orders out the door. The service was really great and friendly. The concrete keeps it cooler but doesn't make you want to linger. The best burrito ever! My partner and I went here last week and I still could not forget the taste. We both ordered the breakfast burrito (it has steak, tater tots(?)) and cheese inside. I actually liked the size, because I was able to finish it without feeling too overwhelmed. I believe we got a cilantro and chipotle sauce, I loved the cilantro sauce! The crunch and how savory the burrito was 5/5. The ambiance is pretty cool too, the ceiling fans that they have are pretty strong so you wouldn't worry about that. I tried Wake and Late, and this is probably their best location because of the great seating. The staff is very friendly and generous with the sauces. I got all three options, and the green sauce and chipotle aioli were my favorites. The breakfast burritos are the same as the other locations. They aren't the biggest size, but they're hearty and yummy. The crispy tater tots really drive the whole burrito and the bacon is obviously a better choice over the steak. Okay, the breakfast burrito here does live up to the hype. Among some of the best I've ever had. I ordered the steak burrito and I was originally skeptical because of the small size and price at $18. However, the burrito was great quality. All of the components meshed well together from the creamy avocado to the crunchy tater tots. For the protein, I ordered steak and it was cooked and seasoned well and wasn't too chewy. I also really liked how compact everything was and nothing fell out while I was eating the burrito. For the side sauce, I ordered the cilantro crema and it paired well with the burrito. I provided good heat and herby flavor to the burrito. If the sauce had more of creamy flavor, it would be perfect. The interior inside was really clean and nice. I liked seeing how the tortillas were freshly made. I also liked the packaging of the burrito which made it feel upscale. Overall, a great experience here and I would recommend to anyone visiting LA. I've been a fan of their breakfast burritos for years now, so I'm ecstatic about this location that is quite convenient to me. And they open at 7am everyday! I appreciate early opening places in this city of late risers. The base bfast burrito is $12 but add bacon for an additional $4 or steak for $5. This lightly but tightly wrapped burrito has eggs, avocado, tater tots, and cheddar cheese stuffed inside. You also get 1 sauce and I always get the Chipotle Aioli for a little kick without burning my face off. As I sit here eating my breakfast burrito while watching Sunday football (half for bfast & half for lunch is perfect sizing for me), I'm dreaming about their Frozen Latte that I must try the next time I'm in. The menu is simple and perfect, every time I pop in it tastes just as delicious as the last. I love a place that serves consistently good eats. read more

(The burrito comes with ONE sauce) While the sauces were good and the burrito had a nice texture, I unfortunately found it to be underwhelming. There was a lack of seasoning and I felt what added most of the flavor was the sauce. The size was also on the smaller side compared to other burritos I've had in the area. For me, the crispiness of the tater tots and the tortilla are the most important parts of a breakfast burrito and they nailed it. The chipotle aioli is really yummy as well. I'm on a mission to find the perfect breakfast burrito for after my long runs, and Wake and Late was recommended by a friend. I usually run in Santa Monica, and most of the W&L locations are too far away to be feasible for post-run re-fueling. But today my run club met up in Griffith Park, so I jumped on the chance to try out their WeHo location. I have to admit that at first I was disappointed in the size of the burrito. It comes in a really cute box, but the burrito looked tiny compared to what I'm used to. Bacon was +$4 and I'm feeling cheap, so I opted for the meatless version which came out to about $15. I also got both the cilantro crema and chipotle aioli, and recommend both. I was glad I didn't get the bacon because nearly twenty bucks for a little brecky burrito? In this economy?! Turns out the burrito was the just the right size to fill me up enough without being too much. I only ran 5 miles today, so I wasn't super hungry but it was perfect. The tater tots inside were my favorite--they add a nice crunch which made up for the lack of bacon. If this place were closer to my run spot, I might make it a regular part of my rotation. read more

Talk about going above and beyond. We stopped by on our bikes and they let us store them inside the office so we could eat our burritos in peace, knowing they were safe. They couldn't have been more accommodating. And on top of all that, the burritos were banging. I really appreciate that they have an egg-free one. I opted for bacon and refried pinto beans with cilantro cream while my husband went for steak and pickled jalapeños with chipotle aioli. My latte was vanilla bean - his was chai. After much anticipation, Wake And Late's newest location is finally opened in WeHo! Known for the freshest and best ingredients you can have in a burrito! It does come with a higher price tag than your average burrito. Today is their grand opening and they are offering free burritos from 8am-11am. They were generous and offered coffee drinks to those standing in line, even handing out their freshly squeezed OJ to those lined outside. Must have their OJ! I tried their steak burrito for the first time with cilantro crema and chipotle aioli. Both sauces very good if you add a touch on the burrito. They wrapped the burrito very well. Every centimeter packed inside. They don't waste room to properly fill the burrito. Not overly salty, good proportion inside, but the overall size of the burrito is not that big nor small, good for one person. If you're really hungry or expect a big burrito, be sure to adjust your expectations. They use Lilo Coffee for their espresso and coffee drinks. I dig the ambiance as they have a semi-open seating area, garage like door that opens up to the outside letting a nice breeze in. They also offer a variety of coffee drinks, and matcha. On the hunt for the best breakfast burrito in LA... I've had 3 other places so far (that I've actively included in this hunt). I must say... wake and kate is currently top tier so far. Don't want to be presumptuous with a 5 just yet, but I really love their bacon bfast burrito! The bacon is chopped up in tiny bits, the tots are SOOOO crispy (best texture ever), the eggs aren't dry and overcooked, and I love the cilantro crema. I must say it could use some more cheese and I've had wake and late 3x already and am just not loving the avocado in it (I love avocado btw, i just feel like their avocado isn't completely ripe idk???) So many foodies swear by the breakfast burritos here at Wake and Late. We tried a breakfast burrito and a juarez burrito. The breakfast burrito was on my smaller size, but the components of it made it so flavorful, The cilantro crema was a nice touch, it has a bit of spice. If you thought the breakfast burrito was small, the juarez burrito is even smaller. I don't think it should be labeled as burrito, it's more of a tortilla roll up. It's pretty thin, but again it was really good. I hate to admit it...but I really liked the food despite the size and pricing. I recommend it for people that like smaller portions and care more about quality over quantity. They have a good amount of indoor seating and there's a free parking lot in front of the store.
