I was in need of someone that could fix my washer so I turned to Yelp as usual. Being that it was Saturday, I found this guy with decent rates so I gave him a call. He scheduled to meet with me the following day (Sunday) between 9-9:30am which was perfect. I'm one with patience but I decided to reach out to him at 9:45am since he hadn't showed. He answered the call and sounded like he had just woken up. He says he had a long night and needed another hour to hour and a half to rest before he could come. WTF? Excellent service! He gave me an honest answer about the condition of my extremely old washer and dryer. The price he quoted me for the repair was more than fair. However, his recommendation was to replace rather than repair. I admit that I just didn't expect him to say that. I trusted his opinion and he certainly earned a future customer. It's nice walking away from this not feeling like I was being jerked around. I wouldn't have any reservations on having him look at any other future problems I may have with my appliances. I also saw another reviewer mention that he struggles with English. I knew this before he arrived and I was a little apprehensive because I wasn't really sure if we would be able to understand each other. Great customer service. After calling 3 different appliance repair numbers which resulted in getting the same guy (possibly contracted to multiple vendors) and he wasn't available for same day, we looked up Yelp and found Mr. Bolivar. We gave him enough information about our fridge issue and even by nearly 3:30pm - 4pm, he was still available to come in same day. Issue was resolved (Freon leak / Freon replacement / valve repair work) and our freezer is working excellent as well as our fridge. Amazing. I called Carlos to service my dishwasher. When he arrived, he removed my built in dishwasher washer because he said he needed to inspect the parts. He told me the part (water pump) would cost just as much to buy a new one. As I stood there, he said he could get a semi used one for $200 same day. He explained they are in like-new condition. I agreed. He left everything disconnected and my old dishwasher in my dining room. He called me several hours later, and stated he was not able to get one but for sure tomorrow. I said okay. I begin looking on OfferUp myself for dishwashers. A few days later, he text me a picture of a dishwasher he got and said he would sell it to me for me for $300. Here's the catch! I remembered that exact picture from an OfferUp post! I went back and found it for sell for $75! And the seller even stated it was an older model! So he lied to me telling me it was a like new dishwasher. And was going to make a huge profit. And that the part was too expensive for my original dishwasher. I ended up calling another local appliance repair business to check my dishwasher that he left sitting in the middle of my house and they repaired it for $60! read more

I contacted this guy to repair my leaking washer about 3 months ago. He unclogged something and charged $90 for the service. The washer began to leak again this week, I contacted him again. This time he replaced the water pump and charged me $140. This is now $230. I could have bought another washer for a bit more. I gave him tow stars because he has always replied quickly, came over the next day and is a nice person. However, I think he charges too much. Just my opinion. read more

Happen across Carlos ' looking for an appliance repair tech. As my kenmore h2 dryer wasn't producing any heat. Sent Carlos a quote request through Yelp and 20 mins later 'I get a response from carlos that he can check the unit at 3pm .that was great , but I start work at 1pm ..I replied back and carlos stated he would try to do everything to be there asap . 15 mins later, I get a call " Carlos " is on his way. 10 mins later he is at my front door. I explain the problem and Carlos ' starts he doesn't understand much English, so he starts talking into his phone for translation . Once he had an understanding he went to get his supply's and tools . Once removing the face plate on the dryer he starts talking into the translator again . The 1st words out of the translator are ' I'm an honest guy ' you just need a new fuse . That's all . He asked if I wanted him to repair the unit and gave me a quote . 20 mins later my dryer is 100% The professional customer service and attitude of Carlos was great. We have used Carlos to repair both our 60" Viking Range and our built-in Kitchenaid refrigerator. His rates are extremely fair and reasonable, and he is very organized honest. He came 3 times to try to fix the refrigerator, including the initial service, on a Sunday, an hour after I called him! He ultimately wasn't able to fix the refrigerator, not due to his effort but rather the refrigerator. But despite the many hours he put into it, he didn't charge me a dime! He even brought his son with him in the evening to give it one more (unsuccessful) try. His son was a great translator, but so is google translate. My high school Spanish from 30 years ago helped very little, but communication was still just fine. He has earned this customer's business for life! read more
