I walked in ahead of 5 other people. I ordered 2 milk shakes after waiting 5 minutes for someone to wait on me. My receipt time - 8:57. I didn't finally get my milkshakes until 9.08. Let me start by saying I have never actually been inside of a Carl's Jr. If I'm going for fast food, I do the drive-through. Since the location in Kenai closed a few years ago, this is now the nearest Carl's Jr, some two hundred and twenty miles from where we live. We've stopped here a few times when in Anchorage, and the drive-through has always been super efficient. We've never had to wait at the window, by the time we pay, our food is ready. They put the fast in fast food, yet everything always seems well prepared and fresh. And unlike certain other fast food chains, I've never had them tell me the shake machine was broken and we couldn't one. However, they were out of chocolate the last time we were there so I have to ding them a star for that. A manager should know how to order so they don't run out of the most popular flavor of milkshake. read more

I gotta say Carls Jr was a eye opener. Here in alaska there burgers was absolutely delicious and the fries was definitely good as well. In the lower 48 we have Hardee's which is basically the same concept as Carl's Jr. I just can't believe how huge the burgers really are. I have heard so much about Carl's JR hamburgers. I've seen them in California but didn't eat there. I'm from New York and for some reason they're non existent back home. No idea why, but there's one located a couple of blocks from where we are staying in Anchorage. I must try them because I don't know if I'll ever get the chance again. Well it won't be necessary for me to worry about another opportunity to eat at Carl's Jr. A big miss for me. Nothing special at all. I had the "Char Broiled Western Burger@ with bacon and cheese. A typical burger, but with little to no flavor. I had an order of fries that also were a miss. Oh and my drink, a Sprite, tasted watered down and just off. To boot, after ordering it took 10 minutes for them to bring out our meal, which we did get an apology for. Look it could be that it's so hard to get commodities into Anchorage due to its distance from the lower 48, but as far as I'm concerned it shouldn't compromise quality or taste. One of our orders was wrong, and the milkshake was way below the amount it should have been (lots of whipped cream, not enough shake). Also the restroom wasn't particularly clean. My husband just picked up our order thru drive thru and we were not happy with our order. The hamburger was served cold and was rubbery. I question how long it had been sitting at room temperature. Also ordered chicken strips with spicy sauce. They drive thru worker forgot the spicy sauce even though my husband asked for it twice. I called the manager of the store and they were polite and offeree to replace our meal tommorow. He said they ran out of the spicy chicken strip sauce. Covid era and drive thru workers gladly take back items from customers. Not typically allowed even during normal times. Food quality can be seen in the picture below. Nothing more than a seedy burger joint with a national name. AVOID at all cost! Look at the sausage, it is barely cooked if at all. The bacon is not even close to being cooked to proper temps. The "hashbrowns" are under done. Everything was served chilled. This is a case of food poisoning on a plate. Needless to say this entire thing went into the garbage. the lady that took out order at 11:03 on Febuary 8th was extremely rude. Constantly talking to other coworkers muting herself and constantly asked us to repeat ourselfs after we were basically yelling our order... I think the record for her was 4 "I'm sorry can you repeat that". It also took her 5 minutes to even take our order when there wasn't anyone else in the drive through. WATCH OUT!! If you're in the parking lot for "too long", the owner will have you towed, no notice or warning. Manager drops the "F" bomb when confronted, owner is unapologetically snide, claiming he had seen the car parked there multiple times before ( I just BOUGHT the car from out of town!). I ate lunch at the restaurant - and walked over to visit a friend nearby (ok, because I'm a customer, right?) - three hours later the car is towed, while I'm still drinking the damn soda!! I've been here a couple times, It's nothing to get excited about. I like that I can quickly grab a burger without a bun and be on my way. I went through the drive thru at 12:35 this afternoon, thinking it would be swamped, but it wasn't, so that was good. The girl at the other end of the drive thru was polite and then I got to the window. I can't put my finger on it, but the young man who was actually at the window seemed to be in a ridiculous hurry, even though there was nobody behind me. Burger was okay, but oddly enough, they filled my beverage cup completely full of ice and I was only able to have two drinks of it and it was empty... lame!! I decided to stop for "breakfast." I was in a hurry and wanted something to eat. This breakfast sandwich combo (sausage, egg and cheese sandwich, potato rounds and a drink) was absolutely horrible. It was greasy and I couldn't eat it. I know this is fast food but it still should be edible. It was a decent price I thought - $4.99, but as I said NOT EDIBLE. That is the first job of food - to be edible. I guess I won't try to get fancy with the fast food anymore and just stick to getting a bagel when I am in a breakfast hurry. I read the poor reviews (afterwards, of course) but the majority of the poor reviews seem directed toward the "dick-like" behavior of the manager. The is the worst burger restaurant in Anchorage. Service is terrible, and the food is no better. Soda was flat. The burger was cooked a couple of hours before being served and the french fries were bone cold. I will never, ever, eat there again.
